  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) That's where I heard it. More times than not the theory holds water. I'm sure some anal stat freak is researching it at this very moment.. :rolly Laughing here. But, no comment.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) My sister had to have this done years ago when we were kids.. wasn't that big of a deal for her. That's what I'm saying. Drilling it can be painful as it's already under pressure. It just takes a touch with a hot instrument.
  3. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 06:02 AM) Moreso, its time to let Timo play in RF today. Let Dye have back to back days off after the debachle that was him in Right Field last night. So he can sit and have that error eat at him for two days? I strongly disagree. Dye's a good outfielder and he was finally hitting the ball with authority last night. He needs to play.
  4. The easiest way to do this procedure is to heat the needle or paper clip or whatever you use. It will just melt right through the nail. No drilling needed.
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) Isn't that a variation of the old Tommy Lasorda you win a third, you lose a third, and what you do with the final third is what matters? Bill Veeck wrote that in "Veeck as in Wreck" before I ever heard of Tommy Lasorda
  6. The Cubs have their starting middle infielders on the DL. I doubt they are shopping middle infielders right at the moment.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) Just goes to show that you can't rollerskate in a buffalo herd (bonus points for the artist of that song, without Googling) Off the top of my head ... Roger Miller?

    The Vic..

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Quite a few people were smoking but it wasn't too bad in there at all. They do have huge exhaust fans above. I smelled worse from that nasty bar full of Cub fans we went into after the show.. Well, that goes without saying, doesn't it?
  9. I miss those combinations.

    The Human Mind.

    QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) Yeah, it's been e-mailed to me about 18 times. It's in that oldie but goodie catagory.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) I agree, don't mess with the pen. I also don't want to give them anything from the farm. Quite honestly.. I don't want anything from them either. LOL. No deals with the Cubs.. That's the way I feel about it.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) As sleepy says i am too cool for green. Too modest, too.
  13. In know that on opening day, if was told that we'd be 16-5 with a 4 game lead at this point, I'd would have been a very happy camper. Let's get 'em tomorrow, boys.
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) I'm sorry, I can't. Two errors in one week in key situations is bad. If Timo did that, I have a feeling it would be okay to bash him. But since most people here are biased in Willie's favor, it's not okay to rip him. Too many people lock onto a guy, and every time he f***s up they rip and rip and rip. Then someone that likes him starts defending. Then another player gets drawn into the mix, and we have two people ripping the hell out of two players for an eternirty. Then it starts all over the next day. People can say what they want to say, but really, there needs to be a serious case of feel good karma distributed across this board.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) I can't back Willie after he botched a routine play at 2nd base against the Royals. That tied up the game. He was playing his natural position in that game. Everyone that plays any time in the field is going to make an error from time to time. Let it go. Geez.
  16. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) I never said he didn't deserve some responsibility but you have to wonder how much of that gets avoided if he doesn't get screwed by the Umps and Dye. You're willing to overlook Mark's failures tonight, but want to crucify Dye. There is some inconsistancy there. Harris, Dye, Buehrle, Ozzie, all of 'em lost this game tonight.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Buehrle got a 3 run lead twice in this game, including one heading into the bottom of the 7th. Out of everyone being blamed tonight, his on-field performance was the single thing that cause the Sox to lose. He couldn't get his pitches down tonight, and the A's were able to just serve the ball into the outfield against him. If Hermanson really was able to go tonight, I would have loved to see Vizcaino start the 7th though. Yes. Buehrle has to take some of the responsibility for tonight's loss. No doubt.
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) Wasn;t the bats that shafted him. Like I said earlier. Dye and the Umps ran a train on him with terrible calls and errors. Dye dropped a fly ball. It happens. Even to the best outfielders. See Torii Hunter.
  19. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) He wasn;t his best. I'll grant you that. He still got totally shafted though. He got 7 runs of support. Most pitchers would love to get shafted like that.
  20. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) sign off. they'll be lots of "he gawns" after this thread is over with. One loss and people lose their s***, jesus. Be kind. They had a lot of built up frustration. They had nothing to really b**** about for a whole 8 games. :headshake
  21. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) No, your right, it's not. Ozzie is the best manager ever and every decision he makes is right. We should have won this game, but we didn't. Oh well, we are 16-5. Where'd that s*** about Ozzie come from?
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) You're a tool. Want to know why you got banned at WSI? Because you do stupid s*** like this. Seriously, why post that? You're cheering against Harris? And you call yourself a Sox fan? You're doing that to get a rouse out of me and Jason. Not happening. Harris >>>> Ozuna. Harris has accomplished more in his career than Ozuna ever will. Wanted to get me pissed? You did, congrats. Consider the source.
  23. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Thank-you Punch. That is the point I have been trying to get across. We don't "grasp" it? I'm sorry, but I know when give away game happens. But, it's not the end of the world.
