    "Taxed to Extremes"

    Damn those Republican tax cuts
  2. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Is this also an indictment on a lot of southern cities? I haven't traveled much down there, so I'm curious. YAS, don't attack, i'm just asking because I don't know. At least people are starting to think about it before saying something. I'm making progress.
  3. My God. What a horrible thing for all involved.
  4. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Isn't food provided for the players at the stadium before and after games? This was an off day.
  5. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) No, Yas, you should now when something offends me I let people know. I'm no shrinking violet.... That's cool. Thanks.
  6. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) For what? By using this guy ... ... I was afraid you found my remark something less than funny. I didn't want to offend you, so I backed up real quick.
  7. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) was gonna post that last night but passed on it... I probably should have.
  8. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) I'm sorry.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) I'm most impressed by them not beating themselves. I don't see as many stupid mistakes as in the past. They are also capitalizing on other team's mistakes and making them pay. I see good baserunning, good defense, smart pitching. The hitting will come. Chill out and enjoy it, we are tied for the best record in MLB. That sums it up quite nicely.
  10. Possibly millions of dollars at stake ... but they just gotta smoke a doobie. :headshake
  11. QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) I always wonder why Dallas hardly never gets a super bowl, good city and good weather. Have you ever been in Texas Stadium? It's a dump.
  12. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) "minimally intoxicated" my ass. Intoxicated and your ass. Hmmmm.
  13. This is beyond the Bulls season. Let's hope Eddy can continue his career.
  14. Hearing all these childhood stories reminds me of the most incredible youth baseball game I've ever seen. This involves my son's team and the opposing team is one that would become the arch rivals as years went by. But this was when all the players were 7 years old. Now these were two very good teams. But this game, with 7 year old players was unique. How so? Have you ever seen a game with kids this young that at the end of 7 innings, or regulation, the score was 0-0? I swear this happened. Nobody walking 5 batters in row, nothing like that. Actually, the game was scoreless untill the 9th inning. "We" were the home team and they scored 3 in the top of the 9th. Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs we have runners on 1st and 2nd (my son on 2nd). A ground ball to 3rd .. the thirdbaseman tags my son on the way to third, but as my son runs past the ball flies out of the glove and lands in short left field. My son didn't realize this and start trotting across the infield toward the first base dugout. I'm coaching first and yell, "Go back to third". He says, "Dad, I'm out." I respond, as I'm drifting down the line towards home to cut him off ... "Go back to third!". (He had never touched the bag). Well, he makes back to 3rd before they get the ball to the bag. The next guy up triples and clears the bases to tie the game. Next pitch, we have him steal home when the catcher returns the ball to pitcher. Game! 4-3 in 9 innings. We had people 3 to 4 deep around the field watching those two teams of 7 year olds go at it.
  15. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) I heard it was menstrual, the crying little b****.
  16. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Europe doesn't have enough cardinals, iirc, to vote in a pope without others going in with them. And I can assure the next pope can do much more to harm 3rd world countries (no birth control) than Americans.... Plus, with the recent scandals of sex abuse I don't think an American pope would be seemly or fitting (actually, since Law has been celebrating masses and active lately my respect for the whole institution has gone waaaaaaaaaay down). Oh, I agree. There won't be an American pope. No way. Perhaps I'm not giving the Catholic Church enough credit. Surely they won't let current politics affect their decision. :rolly
  17. You know what? That really figures. As anti-American as Europe seems to be these days, having a French or German pope would be right up their alley. Hell, I'd almost bet on it.
  18. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) The cow was killed in 1997. If someone was going to be infected, it probably would've happened by now. ALL cattle ranchers (Canadian, American, European, etc.) need to be more careful about what they feed their livestock. That's the first and most important step in stopping this disease. I've got steaks in my freezer from 1997. Anyone want to come over for a nice steak dinner? I'm kidding, folks. Really!
  19. QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) My house: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=624+midvale+...07735&t=k&hl=en Now I know where to find you, you SOB!
  20. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) I don't care what it is, when he comes back, or how he performs. I appreciate his time with the Sox, but he's not on my mind anymore. I only care about his performance 19 games per year now.

    Advice, suggestions..

    QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) I went on a cruise last year to Cozumel. Cozumel is a fantastic place, but I've never been to Cancun so I can't compare. Cozumel seems less tourist-y than other places in Mexico from what I know about places like Cancun. Take a 10-minute ferry over to Playa del Carmen, it is beautiful there. We also went to the ruins at Tulum and Kohunlich, if you're into that sort of thing. Tulum was cool. But I'm a history freak anyway.
  22. QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) The contract was reported as 25 days or more on the DL due to the knee problem. This cetainly doesn't fall under that. So, who knows what the real issue is. True. This could be a smoke and mirrors job by the Tigers, or it could be completely unrelated to the knee injury.
  23. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) I think I would rather see Crazy Carl playing LF than have Gload in the outfield again....blahhhhh You are right. There should be no reason to see Gload in the OF with the depth we have out there.
  24. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) It was in like early October...I remember like last week being the 6 month anniversary of the surgery. They should have done this surgery as soon as he was hurt instead of waiting. That's hindsight. They thought it would heal without the invasive surgery. They were wrong.
  25. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 08:10 AM) In high school I was playing CF and a ball was hit deep. They had those wooden snow fences around the field. There were no warning track and I knew I was getting close so I jumped/dove and the ball glanced off my glove but stayed in the park. Unfortunately for me, I went flying over the fence and knocked the wind out of myself. One of my closest friends was playing LF and he picked up the ball and could barely throw it back to the infield he was laughing so hard. That reminds me of a video clip that went around the internet a few years ago ... A leftfielder went up and over a chain link fence in an attempt to catch a ball, and completely depantsed himself. Hilarious.
