big hurt is back in town
Grace was a class act. He was a very good ballplayer who got tired of Sosa's crap and the Cubs shipped him out of town for it. After the career he had with the Cubs and for them to disrespect him like that, he deserved the right to take his shots at them. And I, for one, am glad he did. The "corked bat" in the dugout was a classic!

Improving Chicago Baseball?
Not only no, but HELL NO. The ongoing arguing between Sox and Cub fans have been going on for over a century, now. It's become a Chicago tradition. Chicago wouldn't be Chicago without it.

Twins Geek hyping Matt Guerrier
I'd did seem to be somewhat one sided against us, didn't it. I remember people thinking he thought he was the Pirates GM or something. Glad we were wrong on this one.

Go after Ugueth Urbina???
I'd have to say, look elsewhere. If the best we can do to replace Koch is another Koch, I really don't see the point.

Shingo Eligible for Rookie of the Year
I never felt the ROY should go to Japanese League veterans. Since the rules are what they are, I will root for Shingo to get it, but I think the rules should be changed.

Go after Ugueth Urbina???
Compare Urbina's numbers this year to Koch. Wtf do we want him for?

Olivo
Our top 4 starters are pitching quite well this year. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We have plenty of offense to support the current catching rotation.

WhiteSox History
It's not like we don't already know how the story of '72 ended, Josh.

Frank Thomas All Star
The fans do skew the results with there voting, no doubt. But with MLB trying to market the sport internationally, there is no way they eliminate the fan voting. It's a fact of life that we'll have to accept.

Frank Thomas All Star
If a DH can win a 1B Gold Glove (Palmeiro, a few years ago) why can't a DH be named a starting 1B All-Star? Sounds reasonable to me.

Gammons: Catcher and 3rd Base
Anyone that would trade Crede or Olivo for an unsignable or old rent-a-player is nucking futs. Olivo should be untouchable, period. The only way Crede should even considered being traded is if you are certain to get a solid veteran 3B that can hold down the position until Fields is ready. And that is a very risky proposition in itself, as Fields may never make and Crede could be starting the ASG from 2006-2009. Beltran might not be too expensive for us, as his trade value seems to coming back to more realistic terms because of the well known fact he has every intention of going FA and because Boras is his agent. Also, most teams are searching for pitching. Still, all in all, I think I'd rather have Finley for 3 months than Beltran.

Classless to Classy
This jerk is getting his just reward. He's being portrayed for the scumbag he is on national TV ... And with SportsCenter, it will be shown repeatedly. Enjoy your baseball and your 15 minutes of fame, douche' bag. :puke :fyou :dips***

Royals fire sale is on
We've already got pitchers that suck and have potential.

What would be worse?
Marrying a Cub fan would be the worst. Then you'd have to buy Cub gear for her birthday and Christmas. You'd also have to look at it all the time. :puke :fthecubs

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I love it when the Sox are in first place. (Hawk voice)

We got ourselves a mascot
I don't have a problem with a mascot. I personally think it's somewhat lame. But, if it helps make a bunch of kids Sox fans, then I'm all for it.

C'mon Brando. Don't hold back. Say what you really feel.

Worth It?
You are not understanding this part of it ... I am acknowledging your point of view and saying your points are valid and correct. What you are refusing to do is step back and see where we are coming from. That's all. No disrespect or demeaning you and your views in any way is intended here. Just trying to get you to look at from a different perspective.
-
Worth It?
I'm not saying that anybody is stupid. As I said, it's just what you are looking at and where you are looking at it from, that is different. In fact, I stated that you had some very valid points.
-
Worth It?
Well TexSox, I tried to make them see where we were coming from. But they can't seem to let go of the money aspect to see our point of view. They will in about 2035 though.

Worth It?
What we are trying to say is that the payroll budget that the organization imposes doesn't necessarily have to be. They have the option of setting the budget at double what it is, if they so choose. They could pull a Wayne Hizinga ('97 Marlins), get the talent necessary even though it is at an operating loss and put a WS champion on the field. Signing Maggs could be done. IF they were willing to pay Maggs. That budget doesn't HAVE to be 65 million. It's a corporate decision that has been made.
