  1. The pitcher is taking a hit on his defensive stats with the error, ie fielding pct. The ERA is an attempt to accurately measure his pitching effectiveness, not his defense. Granted that it is the pitcher's fault, but that's now what these statistics are designed to measure.
  2. You know, there isn't anyone on the team I feel that way about. There are guys I wouldn't mind getting traded if the team was improved and/or a weakness eliminated. But, in general, I don't have any particular player I want to see dumped.
  3. Steve Finley would be an excellent pickup. Hell, I wanted to get him back when he was a youngster with Baltimore. He would fit PERFECTLY with this years team. However, if I had the chance to get Drew now, I would do it. Drew is no Mike Cameron in CF, but he's much better than Jurassic ever thought about being. Then, considering Magglio will be gone, you move Drew to right and insert the best of Rowand, Reed or Borchard in CF next year.
  4. Given the fact that you are a paying customer, I'll let it slide this time.
  5. The rest of your post was pretty damn good too.
  6. Like Chisoxfn, I think a trade is in the works. Barring that, I think it will Rauch. If Grilli got pulled before his start tonight, he's part of the trade.
  7. Exactly. And that's what he was acquired to be.
  8. Wunsch makes $800K and Politte $1M. I don't think the money will be a factor, as they still have to pay both of them. With Cotts back in the pen, I believe Kelly will be sent down.
  9. I'd make this trade. Clement is not a top of the rotation pitcher, but he's solid. Patterson is solid also and should only get better. I don't think this trade would hurt the overall strength of the White Sox this year, but I believe it would benefit the team in the long run.
  10. Yeah Magglio is no Mike Herschberger, throwing wise, but he'll do.
  11. That is another isuue I vehemently disagree with. That Jose is overpaid. Not.
  12. cwsox - You are 1005 correct in everything you said in that post. We have a difference of opinion on the percieved value of JV. And hey, that is very cool. No problem.
  13. Granted. That he did. It's all the rest of the rhetoric that is absurd.
  14. This Anti-Valentin sentiment just boggles the mind. For the life of me I can't understand why some people cannot see what a valueable asset Jose Valentin is to the Sox. But I digress. I'm tired of fighting this idiotic battle.
  15. HEY! I resemble that remark.
  16. College professors. The pulse of liberal America. No thanks. :puke
  17. Two sentences in this exchange caught my attention. Both of which are reasons why higher level judges should continue to be appointed.

    Happy Birthday!

    Have a great one!
  19. If your not a fan of irritating drunks, then stop doing it. Drunks have rights too!
  20. Basketball also doesn't catch near as much (well, none really) for scheduling their playoff games so late at night. Baseball does it and everyone complains because the kids can't stay up to watch it. WTF is the difference?
  21. Did any of you guys who went to Twinkieland happen to call a nationally syndicated politally oriented radio talk show this afternoon? Someone mentioned that they were from Chicago but went to Minneapolis to see "my Sox play the Twins".
  22. I've been generally keeping quiet about Rowand lately, because he's struggled big time and people are so down on him right now. However, I still think Rowand is going to surprise some doubters before it's all over.
  23. You're right. The only way someone can mess with you, is if you let them. If you don't take the bait, they can't reel you in. If you see it beginning to happen, just respond like this: Whatever And move on. That gets to these "internet bullies" more than anything.
  24. Well, we can assume Carlos Delgado is not going to give the Sox an discounts in the FA market.
