  1. Doesn't Andro turn into a steroid once it's in the body. I'm not saying he was "unassisted" by steroids, I'm just saying that he was technically "legal" and therefore should not be included. He was breaking no laws, no rules.
  2. High prices with a low payroll seems like a pretty damn good reason to complain, imho.
  3. Posters here can look at these commercials this way, it might help ..... ATA is wanting to put asses in their seats. Where can you find a better market than Cub fans for a multitude of asses?
  4. The last two threads I've read, I've seen criticism of the Sox because they don't make deadline deals, and criticism because they did.
  5. Right! Just like last year.
  6. Wasn't that article about Lamarr Hoyt?
  7. Be glad to. I don't have a clue.
  8. Well, since we open against them, I guess we'll find out soon enough how we fare against those lefties.
  9. In the link above, Smith was compared with Chris Snopek, Tim Hullett and Rich McKinney. That tells me all I need to know.
  10. People are too sensitive. ATA is just trying to put butts in their seats.
  11. With the glut of good young outfielders in the organization, that remark about Maggs being more likely to be traded than Beltran is probably accurate.
  12. The thing is, with JM gone, all these guys get the opportunity for a new beginning. Garland won't have the spectre of JM's quick hook hanging over him now. Danny Wright can put last year behind him an work to impress Ozzie and move forward. Hopefully, one or two of these guys will take advantage of the opportunity a new manager presents, and step up.
  13. I have to agree with you. On all counts.
  14. I think "a court of law" will be the key to this whole thing, player's union be damned. If the are convicted of use of illegal substances and/or perjury regarding the use of said substances, they should be held accountable be MLB as well as the legal system.
  15. Benard being linked with this steroid controversy may seal his fate with the Sox.
  16. Keep in mind, the Cubs still have to actually go out and play the games before they can claim the 2004 NL Central division title. Nothing is carved in stone yet.
  17. Frank needs to have a patented early Frank Thomas type of year, win another MVP award. That would lock him up as a 1st ballot HOF'er.
  18. Regarding the original topic of this thread, if Giambi was juiced in 2000 then Thomas should be recognized as MVP. That would certainly enhance his HOF credentials.
  19. Yes. I remember seeing Johnny Bench striking out on the old Merv Griffin show against a female softball pitcher.
  20. I'm glad to hear good things about Josh Stewart. He was quite decent until he took that line drive off the chest last year. If he's back and healthy, he could offer some valueable depth for the club.
  21. The next ELO? I really don't see lightening striking twice in the same place. There won't be another Loiaza, at least not this year.
  22. Yes, he was tough. But, he'll suck this year. The curse of the goat and all.
  23. I think the fact that JB got away from baseball over the off season will help him immensely. I'm sure he had to have a certain amount of burnout. He's worked very hard since he's signed. Taking a break, clearing his mind and relaxing may be just the ticket for him to step up.
  24. With the Rangers' dire need of pitching, I'd think anyone that they cut wouldn't be worth even a look.
  25. What's sad about it? I hope their bullpen totally sucks.
