Rocky outing for Colon debut:
Obviously, we have a difference of opinion. Colon did not perform up to expectations last year, but he was the rock of the rotation down the stretch and those 242 IP also account for the "valueable asset" comment.

Owens an Eagle?
I hope Owens goes to the Eagles, and then I also hope the Ravens play the Eagles somewhere along the line. I'd love to see how Lewis and company greet TO.

More hockey madness
Bertuzzi should get some hard jail time out of this. Enough with the suspended sentence crap.

I guarantee you that I'll read any discussions, but will probably not contribute much.

I swear to fucking God...
Mr. Zero, my condolences to you and your girlfriend. She's going to need a lot of love and understanding in the next few years and probably some counseling as well. Good luck to both of you and try to help her put this behind her as soon as possible.

Friends With Benefits
If neither person is involved in another relationship and both parties know that that's what is, then I see nothing wrong with it.

Rocky outing for Colon debut:
Steff, there is no doubt that Bartolo was a valueable asset to the Sox last year. Regardless of what some other notoriously infamous anti-Bartolo posters may think. But there is no need in dwelling on those 242 innings pitched. Someone will pitch them for the Sox this year.

Marvin Bernard Calf Injury
Basically, if Ozzie can't see what he can do, he's not going to keep him on the team. I'd like to see him get healthy and give it a shot since he is a lead off type hitter. But if Reed or Borchard beat him out, so be it. As for Valenzuela, he's hit well in ST in the past, but didn't hit much last season in the minors.

I believe I qualified it as speculation.

ESPN Reporting Sheffield Injured
It didn't take long for the speculation to start. From the NY Post: March 9, 2004 -- TAMPA - Magglio Ordonez and Ken Griffey can be had if the Yankees want to take on $14 million or $66.5 million to replace Gary Sheffield in right should Sheffield need surgery on his injured right thumb. Or Joe Torre can take the trio of Kenny Lofton, Bernie Williams and Hideki Matsui and find who best fits into right field once Williams is healthy. Travis Lee told Torre he is more comfortable in left field than right, but first base is Lee's best position. Other names in the mix are Darren Bragg, Bubba Crosby and Tony Clark. However, Torre is waiting to see the extent of Sheffield's injury before making other plans. And while Torre may be reluctant to move Matsui from left to right, at least Matsui played the position in Japan. Williams and Lofton have not played there. "I never played it," said Lofton, who was shocked to hear that Sheffield may miss three months if he requires thumb surgery. "I have never done it before, but if they want me to, I would do whatever needs to be done to help the team." Lofton quickly understood what his biggest shortcoming would be in right, where the team's strongest arm usually resides. "I don't want to show off my gun," said Lofton, whose arm strength has subsided over the years. "I have to trick them." Lofton remembers spending two innings of an All Star Game, possibly 1998 in Coors Field, in left but getting no balls hit to him. Matsui played left field as a rookie in Japan and moved briefly to right before landing in center field. Torre said he has never used Williams anywhere other than center except for an All Star Game. "I would do anything the team wants," Matsui said. As for getting Ordonez or Griffey, at first blush it doesn't seem likely. But how likely did it look that Alex Rodriguez would be a Yankee in the immediate days after Aaron Boone blew out a knee playing basketball a month ago?

Bible passage help
The Bible. The, as in singular. Like there is one and only one. There are so many different variations in existance tday, it's mind boggling. How can you identify one as The Bible. Then again, maybe the true Bible doesn't even exist today. How many changes, interpretations, translations have there been throughout history. How many changes were made to put forth an agenda? Did King James have an agenda? Is that why there is a King James Version? Who selected which of the gospels were worthy of inclusion into the Bible and which ones weren't? Were there only 4 gospels, or only 4 men who chronicled the life and times of Jesus Christ? I don't know the answers. I only know that there are plenty of questions.

Soxtalk NCAA Tournament Pick'em
Even though I have hardly watched any college hoops at all this year, I'm in just for the hell of it. Kentucky could make some noise again as long as Georgia doesn't make it.

Then again, after thinking about it ..... OF of Williams, Lofton, Matsui ..... Arod, Jeter, ??????, Lee from third to first. Posada catching and Giambi at DH. Still pretty potent.

Just for the sake of trivia, wasn't Mike Squires the last lefty to play 3B in a major league game?

Monday's Line-Up
This is still the first week of spring training games. I don't think our starting line up is carved in stone yet. Then again, it hasn't been carved in stone for at least 6 years.
