  1. This would be a no-brainer regardless ... White Sox winning over and above any other possible sports related contingency. But, since I'm a University of Kentucky hoops fan, well, this question was even more ludicrous.
  2. Let's set a precedent and kick some Cubbie ass!
  3. Tejada's with the Orioles now.
  4. I'm hoping Pully and Sutter are both gone after this year.
  5. If Danny Wright turns out to be the best option for the fifth spot in the rotation, then that's where he needs to be. That is much more crucial of a spot than long-middle relief.
  6. Elia was very familiar with the situation with the Cubs and their moronic fans ... He is an ex-White Sox.
  7. It's not unprecedented for a guy to come up from Rookie or A ball and succeed in the big leagues, but a guy like Albert Pujols doesn't come along very often. Give these kids a chance to ripen before we pluck them off the tree.
  8. I've always like Rowand and believe he will be a good solid major leaguer. In fact, Rowand reminds me of a younger right-handed Steve Finley type of guy. Not great at anything, but an all around good baseball player.
  9. At a minimum, Bertuzzi should not be allowed to suit up again, till Moore is able to. Then add a suspension on top of that. If Moore is unable to play again, Bertuzzi's career should be over.
  10. It should take that much to get Magglio.
  11. Kenny Williams does, and should, have a say into who makes the club. He's tha general manager of the entire organization and if he feels Reed should get a year of AAA under his belt, then he has every right to send him down. You also have to look at the long term effects of a situation like this. For example, after a year of AAA Reed will be one year closer to his prime. If he doesn't come up till 2005, then he won't be elible to become a free agent until after the 2010 season. This is a strategy the Sox need to start using. Leave guys in the minors until they are ready and don't waste a year of big league service time by bringing them up too soon. With this as an organizational prractice, it would help keep payroll at levels that would give them more flexibility down the road. On another note, the way Rowand is hitting right now, Reed will really have to step it up to outplay him.
  12. Fehr's problem is that he thinks, or maintains, that this issue is a bargaining chip. Steroid testing should not be considered a concession by the MLBPA. If only 5 to 7 percent of the players are using steroids, then you would have to assume that the other 93 to 95 percent would be in favor of it, so they knew that they would not be competing at a disadvantage for their livelihood. The MLBPA has a pretty damn good record against the owners. Let's see how well they do vs. the United States Congress. :fyou Donald Fehr
  13. Richard Simmons would be so proud.
  14. Something tells me the steroid allegation had something to do with this release. It doesn't make sense just based on the fact he's been out with a minor injury. With his history as a player, you'd think he'd be worth a look. Even a look in late spring training.
  15. We couldn't sign and trade Urbina. But we could sign Urbina and trade Koch.
  16. That's exactly what I was thinking.
  17. That's no problem. They could always insert Willie at 2B and move Uribe over when the need arises. I'm glad to hear Willie is looking at a lot of pitches. That's important for the leadoff man to do.
  18. That is the most impressive Guillen interview I've seen yet. The way he talked about how the Twins did things the right way was insightful into what he's trying to instill in the Sox. There is hope.
  19. I thought bashing new posters was required.
  20. Keep posting them. They're funny as hell.
  21. Who said anything about irresponsible sex?
  22. You'd think because Bertuzzi drove Moore's head into the ice as he fell, that they could consider the hard surface of the ice as a "weopon". That's probably what caused his broken neck.
  23. I'd say that if the Sox feel they had an adequate replacement, they'd be more likely to trade Maggs. In fact, the Dodgers have let it be known Jackson or Miller would be available in a deal for the right hitter. If Borchard or Reed steps up big, that long rumored Sox-Dodgers trade may happen yet.
