  1. Willie will probably go hitless in the first series. KC will probably throw 2 lefties at us so Uribe will be starting, more than likely.
  2. It's nice to know we have a lefty and a righty available is any of the starters faulter or get hurt.
  3. ..... I'd swear this headline was from the Tribune rather than the Sun-Times. Maddux still impressive despite getting shelled Sometimes, you just have to laugh.
  4. And for that very reason, YOU"RE NEXT!
  5. It's kinda hard for a guy to make a team with only 3 at bats. He'll be up with the Sox before long, I believe.
  6. Griffey would look good in the Sox lineup today. But 3 years from now, I think we'd really regret absorbing his salary. I'd rather gamble on Borchard's developement than Griffey's possible health and longevity.
  7. FlaSoxxJim. I agree with what you are saying. My point is that McGwire is seemingly always implicated as a cheater. Yet, at the time he was taking Andro, it wasn't banned nor illegal. It was an over the counter supplement as legal as one-a-day vitamins. He used them, yes. They are off limits now, yes. But Big Mac did not "cheat".
  8. What the hell caused that response? I don't see where you asked that question and I responded to what you did actually type in. EDIT: I went back and reread the exchange. I can see how you misinterpretted my posts. They weren't meant as a personal attack. I was only trying to make a point. I apologize for any misunderstandings.
  9. For the record, Schoney used only his cutter and change-up today. Those are the pitches he's working on. He didn't use his sinker or slider which has been his bread and butter pitches in his career. Source was the Trib.
  10. Well folks, I screwed things up on the way in to enter my picks, so I am in the pool as "soxtalk". What can I say? I wasn't fully awake.
  11. I do, however, have to give you some credit. This is, at least, something besides your own personal rants and raves.
  12. Excuse me. I was mistaken. It was that other rag named The New York Times.
  13. Yes, he did admit that. But Andro was not banned by MLB and Andro was not illegal. In fact, it was available over the counter.
  14. Gary Sheffield also claims he never knowingly took steroids. You two must have the same agent.
  15. THG. THC. Details details. LOL
  16. I guess Andre Dawson was on steroids too. Shot knees is proof positive.
  17. It just so happens that some of the game's biggest stars were tied into a federal investigation of a company and individuals charged with the illegal distribution of steroids. And this has occured since the CBA. Do you think this just might have something to do with it?
  18. Cocaine is illegal too, but MLB can't test for it.
  19. You see what's happened here? You have validated my point. Borchard is not Mantle. Yet, Sweeney is already being compared to Harold Baines by Roland Hemond. Baines had 2800 career hits. Let's give this kid a chance to grow up before the future of the franchise is put on his shoulders.
  20. I didn't originally make that comparison. It was all part of the hype when we drafted and signed this guy.
  21. You know, it looks very promising. But then, Colon and the others are in spring training. Some guys are working on pitches, some guys still haven't found their groove yet. Plus, they are hitting in Arizona and we all know how that can skew results.
  22. What, exactly, was it that happened to McGwire? This is not a "challenge" type question. I'm just wondering if you know something I don't about Big Mac.
