C'mon people. Get a grip on reality. They are still PROSPECTS. Jon Ruach was minor league player of the year. He should win the Cy Young at anytime. Joe Borchard was supposed to be the next Mickey Mantle by now.

Sweeney and Anderson should stay in the minors for another 2 to 3 years. That would put Sweeney in the bigs at age 22 .... plenty of time for him yet. With Magglio's expected departure, I believe we are going to need Joe Borchard's power next year. Joe should be ready to make the jump now.

At 32, he's hardly a kid. Let's hope he makes the most of this long awaited oppotunity and has a good year.

I still would hate for us to give up on Borchard. Rauch, I can see being traded.

I never said JM was worthless. However, motivation was not not his strong point. If he "got the best out of his players" why did the team not live up to preseason expectations the last 3 years? Several thought the Sox were World Seies bound after acquiring Colon, yet once again, we couldn't even win the division. I didn't have problems with JM, but this team desparately needed a change. They had grown stale.

I guess 10 bombs just prior to the election make one helluva campaign platform.

And how is this an endictment of America in any way, shape or form?

Oh, if I was trying to start a debate, yes it would be "weak". I was just trying to add something to the issue that had been overlooked.

I just checked the Eagles page at nfl-dot-com .... Baltimore does play in Philly.

Look at it this way guys. He won 14 games and had a 5+ ERA in 2002. Last year, he had to pitch while not 100%. He wasn't successful as a starter but seemed to pick it up a notch out of the pen. He might have learned a little bit about "pitching" rather than "throwing", since he was not up to par health wise. He's got the stuff, we all seem to agree on that. Maybe now he has the smarts to be a decent starter. I'm willing to give him a shot and find out before we ship him off and he wins 18 games elsewhere.

I'm just going to throw this one out there and see what you people think of this idea. Konerko for Benson.
