  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 06:22 AM) If we was averaging 27 a night, he'd still be around. The league loves to find a mid range, somewhat known player, and look tough on drugs. I wonder if he can get a book deal and appear on Oprah? Isn't that what the MLB did? An aging star who doesn't contribute much at the moment? They certainly didnt grill former mega stars Sosa and McGwire enough IMO. If you'll look at any league, thats the way they go, after the "happy medium" of players.
  2. QUOTE(soxhawks @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) i dont know if i want anyone on the hawks, but raycroft sucks. Former rookie of the year, hell give him to us, he can't be worse than Munro, who was awful today... Yeah, I went again, and Richmond sucks, Arnason again is unproductive, and this team just doesn't know how to win. Another solid game by Vrbata though...
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) Well yes...but if Farmer thought the Score would pony up with Rooney just because they saved money on him, then he was quite ignorant to how the Score operates. Yeah, I mean come on, they pay a hot dog guy money for chrissakes...
  4. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) IMO the best deal would be Carlos Beltran and some pitching prospect for Count straight up... Ya think? Beltran is one of the best CF in the league but that's a LOT of money we'd be paying him, and then what do you do with Anderson?
  5. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) In the Fall & early Winter I played the role of the tutor for my child. It became evident to me she was taking too long to solve problems & complete assignments. It was then that I brought up the possibility she needs slower classes with a less demanding workload. That was shot down by the teachers so I got no support from the school or at home on this idea. Too long to solve problems? She should take as long as possible until she gets it, that's the point of a problem, to make one solve it. And maybe, just maybe, the teachers are shooting down the idea because they see the potential that your daughter has, and you want her to take the easy way out and to get into slower classes. This is sickening...
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) Wait, I saw it. Damn. That kid had a great shot from the point. In all his time in Chi-Town, he might have used it twice.
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) That said, there are some dishonest folks who try to make themselves look like something or not. Certainly, those are irritating people. But I really don't see or hear from many of these. I see/hear a lot more casual fans. Agreed, I can't deal with people who try and push their "Extensive baseball knowledge" on to me.
  8. Hammerhead you make a good point about getting better defensively, BUT Blount is one of the worst rebounding big men in all the NBA. That hurts, however I agree with you on Ricky Davis, he's very talented and he has a certain swagger to him, or filthiness if you will.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Because Babchuk had 'attitude problems' so they got what they could for him, i guess. I'd rather have Richmond than Spacek though...i know that's not the trade, but i'll take some guys who can skate back there instead of simpson, cullimore, etc Yeah, I think I had guessed that earlier about him, but still, I'm sure there were better options, and if we were trading away a player like Babchuk who was drafted in the first round, we could have gotten more picks or something else of worth. Vrbata looked good, he actually played well defensively, and he contributed to the Hawks few scoring opportunities. Yak look nonexistent, didn't do much offensively and lost his man a few times on D. However, to his credit he did win a bunch of faceoffs, and the ones he lost he tied up his man well.
  10. I went tonite, and for the most part the game was boring. Solid effort by Munro, average defense, poor offense. Calder, Lapointe, and Bell worked their asses off tonite and are the ONLY reason the Hawks scored. Again, Arnason played like absolute s***, and obviously isn't willing to put in the effort to play in the NHL. Richmond is severly undersized, but is a great skater. The thing I'm confused about is, we already have Duncan Keith, why add another one who is worse in his own end?
  11. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) Lorezen wright has a nice as shot in nba 2005... 2006 sucks balls though. Memphis is usually my team when we have tournaments and they are loaded with defenders, height, and trey ballers... i loved that 2004-2005 team. The have Mike Miller.... enough said.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Post.of.the.year. Agree
  13. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) And Arnason can eat it, i'm glad he sat...he's nothing but wasted talent. I wish Sutter woulda kicked his ass when he had the chance in that bar in Alberta... I think we understand that Sutter actually got more wins out of his teams than they should've had.
  14. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) She's sitting there with her young son, and nasty things get said to her. What do you really expect her to do? Its just downright rude to say things like that, especially to people with young children with them. There was no proof that it was said TO HER, or her son. She went on record saying, my son heard him say... So really, either get an usher, or get smaller ears.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) I believe that Axelrod said nasty things like she said, but I also believe that she went apes*** on him (like ESPN shows), so both are at fault here. I understand he said nasty things, but if you go to a sporting event, you should expect them. I'm not saying that its ok, but you should expect it.
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) they are as stupid as they seem. They LOVE their hometown boys, I'm sure it was just a bit of dumbassery that made them make that decision.
  17. Yes, please, get rid of Arnie!!!!! Bad news for Khaby, but I dont think he needs to be dealt, we have nobody else, and Conklin is the exact same as Anderson, just with a slightly better team infront of him. Really, I think Andy got jobbed, Munro played two of the worst teams in the league, won both games with a solid performance infront of him. Anderson plays the better teams, gets s*** efforts from his teammates and he gets dealt. I'm sorry but I dont think that's too fair. Even though I would wholeheartedly agree that he definitely did not play his best.
  18. I loved listening to Piersall, I thought he was hysterical...
  19. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Quentin Thomas, and Danny Green Those two are the biggest dumbasses on the court IMO. And speaking of an outside shooter, maybe they could try and screen for Fraser and have him shoot it, much like Duke did/does with Redick.
  20. Are the rosters this year's teams or last years?
  21. I think part of this is that maybe he has the "typical" Russian player attitude and doesn't quite work as hard as he should or could.
  22. Great, another character guy.... We trade someone who we would like to see get time and keep pieces of s*** like Cullimore on the roster, great trade Dale!
  23. The Hawks were OK yesterday, thank God for Khabibulin. The Hawks took penalty after penalty and were out shot 20 to 4 in the first period. After that they seemed to pick it up a little and were scrappier in the offensive zone. Seabrook and Spacek looked good, Vrbata looks like he can play, and Barnaby turned in a solid performance as well. If the Hawks get an effort like that against a good team however, they're in some trouble. On the trades, if we can get rid of Aucoin, Cullimore, Dowd, Arnason, and Simpson I'm a happy guy. The rest can be used to build a team. I like Barnaby, Lapointe and Brown for a fourth line. Calder needs to be here, he works his ass off to get loose pucks and is the THE Chicago Hockey Player.
  24. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Look under the title,Einstein. Well, genius, it still doesnt say that he wasnt suspended from NHL play... so maybe you should take it easy.
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 09:14 AM) He is a legit ACE. But Wood, Prior, Maddux and whoever else is not. Prior has had one good year, and has a ton of potential, but at this point he isnt an ACE. Wood is one of the biggest dissapointments ever, Madddux is a grandpa, and the rest of the crap is the rest of the crap. Howry is just campaigning, his old team had a better staff last year. I know the other guys are not aces, but Big Z is as good as it gets IMO. That's all. I wasn't saying they have a better rotation by any means...
