  1. Doubt they were just a fashion statement. They were both dressed really nice and the hat didn't really go with the outfits at all. I think they are both just actually Sox fans, and I LOVE it. I thought they were both going to be real good pros as it is, now I'm sure of it.
  2. Wolfe was actually nowhere near as much of a reach as the Stanford RB. Most people had Wolfe as a 4 or 5 and the Stanford LB was a 6 or 7 in some peoples minds. Anyways, Wolfe is a fast guy that can catch and block extremely well and will be a threat alongside Hester in the kick return game (since they'll never kick to #23 anyways now). 3rd down back with speed and can be a tough pill to swallow when you kick away from Devin, it actually fits well what the Bears need (now Cedric has to stay healthy). Bears FLEECED San Diego in that trade, so I thought they had a very good day until the LB pick. But then again I HATED our draft last year, and look how that worked out....
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) Gordon is better than Hinrich. That being said for Gordon to be on the floor you need someone else that is going to run the offense. But no question about it, right now Hinrich is our 3rd best player. I agree with that for sure, but Gordon CAN NOT play point guard, at all, no way. However if your talking about overall player, I'm not sure anybody would argue Hinrich is better than Deng or Gordon.
  4. I'd take Olsen too. I think we could use an OL and LB more than Olsen right now though, maybe even another S too.
  5. If the Bears can get Meriweather and Grubbs, I will cream myself. Hell, even 1 of them and a WR or LB or something works big time.
  6. Well, the scouts agreed with me on how OVERRATED Quinn is. WHAT A MOVE by the Cowboys, all you have to do is move down from 22 to 36 (14 spots) this year, AND you get Cleveland's 1 next year which will probably be a top 10 pick? Jerry Jones stealing the Clowns wallet, typical Cleveland move. Oh, and Laron Landry and Patrick Willis in their Sox caps earlier=OUTSTANDING
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) The Bears are not in cap trouble so there is no reason to cut Brown. Plus his contract isn't that bad and even if they did cut him they'd restructure and bring him back before they did anything else. Brown is a Bear, you can book that. They are not in cap trouble, which is why they could pay Landry, especially if it involves Briggs getting dealt. And they are TIRED of Brown getting hurt every year and burning them, so this isn't a money issue IMO.
  8. This has to be Okoye to Atlanta and Quinn to Miami. WOW, Jamaal Anderson. I really like him, so a very good pick, but I thought they'd take Okoye.
  9. Miami is done, don't worry about them lol. And your right, Hinrich was awful in game 1, mediocre in game 2, but HE won that game last night. We lose that game by 20 plus if Hinrich doesn't play such a great ballgame on both ends of the floor.
  10. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) Bears got Archuleta, Manning and Brown, I doubt that. There is a very real chance that injury prone Brown gets cut, and I hope people aren't silly enough to think Archuleta is any good.
  11. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) Any thoughts on the Skins potentially having taken Landry for the Bears? I'm just thinking S is definitely a need or is that deal all the way dead at this point? That's an interesting point, I didn't think of it that way. Good idea.
  12. Gordon could not be a starting point guard over an 82 game season and in the playoffs. Period, end of sentence, end of story. He's a great offensive player, but he is what he is, a tiny 2 guard with incredible scoring ability. Hinrich is a very solid, above average PG when he's not in foul trouble, and is a plus defender as well.
  13. This HAS to be Quinn, Vikings have nothing at QB. EDIT: Wow, AP. Looks like Quinn to Miami then. I thought the Vikings needed a QB more.
  14. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) who do you think they should have taken? Arizona reached so far, they could have taken any of a half a dozen guys, including Adrian Peterson (Edge is DONE) and it would have been better. Adams is a board pick by Tampa, but he just has bust written all over him. He is a lazy ass, takes downs off, and doesn't pay attention to the run. They'd have been better off with Okoye or Landry by far. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) I still think Tampa and the Lions may work something out. Tampa has a ton of picks, the Lions like Gaines Adams and we all know Tampa LOVES Calvin. That said I really can't fault the Lions for making that pick because CJ was the best player on the board and even though they have taken a lot of WR's, they only have one WR and when you team him up with Roy Williams you can forget about WR for a long time (cause health is the only thing I see preventing CJ from being a stud). Agreed on all counts. CJ is a great talent so you can't laugh at Detroit, but still, another receiver? That isn't going to turn them into a good team. I still think Tampa and Detroit might make a trade, your right. I like Landry a lot, but 2 safties in the top 10 in the span of a few years? I just am not a fan of taking safties that high once, let alone twice.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) Landry repping t he Sox hat. Landry is officially my favorite player in this draft not including the 2 NIU guys. That is AWESOME.
  16. Terrible picks by both Tampa Bay and Arizona, which is not a surprise. Brown is a huge reach, and Gaines Adams has bust written all over him.
  17. Nelson knows everything about the Mavs, the Warriors match up well with them....Dallas is in trouble, and in fact I think they might be toast if they lose game 4. Everybody also forgets the Warriors due to injuries and trades did not have THIS set of players but for a few games all year. They are a much better team than a #8 seed, and Dallas had been resting for weeks basically. All the makings for the recipe of an upset.
  18. We need to trade for Carl Everett.
  19. I said the other night that the one good that might come from the disaster against the Tigers was Zumaya's wild performance might cause him some problems with confidence and control. Well tonight he entered with a 3-2 lead in the 8th against Minnesota, only to give up 3 hits, a walk, 2 runs, and blow the save and lose. Uh oh....
  20. I was there tonight, Bulls also won. Good night.
  21. Time to get ready for Detroit. Only question is whether Miami wastes it's time to show up for game 4 to avoid the sweep, and force us to finish them off up here. I love it.
  22. He's a guard that has some semblance of talent, so ok. Just a darn shame Jamar is going to be back, Weber is such a....well a lot of bad things.
  23. The fact we totally re-did his swing this offseason is example 1,755 B why Greg Walker should not have a job. Brian showed SIGNIFICANT improvement last year from Mid-June on at the plate (despite not even playing everyday) and yet, we totally re-do his swing so he can "be either a home run guy or speed guy"? Stupidness beyond belief, and I think Brian is ruined forever as a result at the dish. It's a darn shame too, he won't have success unless it's in another organization IMO.
  24. Matt Capps of the Pirates is single handedly winning me holds every week. ERA well under 1 right now, has been dominating, and meanwhile the beloved Pirates have won 4 in a row and moved into 2nd behind the Brew Crew in the NL Central.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 12:54 PM) And in the continuing kicking of Mark Prior, because he was on the minor league DL when he had his surgery, this season will NOT count towards his major league service time. He will now have to wait until after the 2009 season to be a major league free agent. When you consider that a player can't receive more than a 20 percent (I believe that is the number) paycut in arbitration (and that is just the rule, nobody has EVER got a paycut in arbitration I think), meaning he'd still be paid like 2.75 million next year at least if he's back, I smell a non tender.
