Santana at home is a bad senario. I hope the real offense doesn't stand up, or it'll be another 3-2 loss.

Tres de Mayo is popular around here, eh? Best wishes to all!!

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 4, 2007 -> 09:10 AM) Like Women. Boo ya. Ha I have been up late all week (well, later that normal) getting my prep study done for finals next week, thus I set that one up on a tee and didn't even realize it.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 4, 2007 -> 09:04 AM) Problem: Pacers don't have a draft pick, unless the lottery balls put us in the top 10. Oh well that's not good, especially in a draft this good. I assume that means you traded a pick but had top 10 protection on it, are the odds at least realistic it'll be a top 10 pick? -
Never been to one, will probably end up at one for somebodys bachelor party one day, but have no interest. There are too many elements to strip clubs that really just are buzzkills for me.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 4, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) They arent fake if you can touch them Besides beggars cant be choosers. Point well taken on part 1, but fortunately i'm not a beggar. Although even on point 1, that is more about fake boobs, not facial replacement surgery like it seems like Ashlee had.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 4, 2007 -> 08:54 AM) I wasn't expecting a king's ransom for those two. Though his numbers haven't been stellar, I think the Pacers will really benefit from Diogu. SJax put the Pacers in a horrible spot, just as Artest did--giving the Pacers nothing to work with as far as a deal. However, I will give you that the Pacers didn't get equal talent back in the trade. I agree on Diogu. Him and Granger together are going to be a matchup nightmare long term for opponents, and you should get a good player in the draft. -
Tampa Bay seems to have found a couple pitchers not named Kazmir. 25 year old James Shields improved to 3-0 with a 3.74 (and 45 k's and 9 walks in 43 innings, only a 1.02 WHIP) in a 6-4 win against the Twins last night. And of all people, 37 year old ex Cardinal Al Reyes is now 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 0.57 WHIP, as well as 10 for 10 in saves with 18 k's and 3 walks in 14 innings after last night. And wow, B.J. Upton is really, really good. Also, shockingly quiet news is Josh Beckett, all things considered. He is now 6-0 with a 2.72, 35 to 9 K/BB, and a 1.06 WHIP in 39.2 IP (and most important, only 1 HR allowed). Maybe this is finally the full year he puts it together.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 4, 2007 -> 01:09 AM) I don't know, there was one earlier this year in one of the Arkansas papers that was something like "Nutt says Dick hurt." "Nutt says Dick's back is still stiff" was the headline. Good times.

If this were in his prime De La Hoya, i'd be a dead even, up for grabs fight. But it's not, so Mayweather will definitely win IMO.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 4, 2007 -> 08:17 AM) I guess I've become your new Curt Schilling obsession--grrrreat. I will never regret trading SJax, so yes. I won't even regret it, if they win a ring. That wasn't going to happen here. You're a dumbass if you think otherwise. The only reason I even bring it up is your blow torch treatment to SJax after game 2, he deserves credit because he was the 2nd most valuable player in that series. To be honest, I know it wouldn't have worked out in Indiana either, but you guys made such an atrocious trade with him and Harrington, should have got SO much more. You should be pissed at how bad you were fleeced in that deal, even if Jackson wasn't going to work out there is more my point. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 4, 2007 -> 07:34 AM) Are you going to make some smart ass comment everytime he plays a good game? That'll get old quick. Nope, I consider this over now that I've gotten my realistic, logical opinion out on it that I think greasy will agree is fair. And I would have made comments after 6 games had I gone by that theory, but only did after 2 QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 4, 2007 -> 07:42 AM) Im sure someone will have something to say next week when Stephen Jackson inevitably goes partying and pulls out a gun/gets in a fight. The whole point of my argument is Pacer fans should be pissed at how badly they were fleeced in that trade, to be honest. SJax is a bad guy, but to get Dunleavy and Murphy for Harrington AND Jackson is horrid. -

Are the Pacers fans still glad they made that trade and got rid of Jackson? 7 for 8 from downtown, a 1 man wrecking crew during the fatal run. At least they have a better group of character guys due to the 8 player rapeage....errr deal. What an upset, I fully expect a GSW/Phoenix West Final now, what a classic that would be. Oh, and Dirk=choker The Warriors come out of the locker room in the yellow we believe shirts and thank the fans that are still out there. I love it. -
Cunningham is the man. /Significant contribution of deep thought

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 3, 2007 -> 10:45 PM) Russell isn't striking guys out at a particularly great rate in the early going -- it's still early, though, so by season's end he might be fine -- but his GB/FB ratio is about as good as Egbert's so far. I don't think JAG can continue to be as dominant as they've been so far, but it's nice that two relatively unknown guys have stepped up. Also good to see Gio bounce back from his mediocre year last season. 29 k's in 34 innings now, that's not TOO bad, and no earned runs in his last 2 starts (13 innings) 28 hits and 12 walks too, as well as no homers for Russell. He's been fine IMO other than he's struggling against lefties a bit too much for my taste right now. EDIT 2: BA was 0 for 4 in game 2 tonight. Not sure why the idiot Walker decided to tinker with a swing that hit pretty well from mid-June on last year, but BA might be mentally destroyed for good.

B-Ham wins 5-0. 7 IP, 3 hits, 2 walks, 6 k's, no runs for Russell, who moves to 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA. 3 run homer by Thomas Collaro in the 8th put that one in ice (5 HR, 10 doubles, 2 triples, and 22 RBI for him now....but also 33 k's and 5 walks, lol). Getz and Lucy with an RBI each. EDIT: Kanny won 4-3 also, the diminutive lefty Justin Edwards with another nice outing to move to 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA.

She looks great now, but I am diametrically opposed to fake looking ladies, and she's as fake as it gets, so no thanks.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 3, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) I thought he was dead!!? It says he, and his whole family, is dead on wikipedia. And if wikipedia says it, it MUST BE TRUE.......(unless it's about Sinbad).

I'll ask you heavier political folllowers around here, how unusual is this? I haven't heard of something like this for a guy that's never even ran for President before. Seems like it would have to be a very real threat and not just some nutjob sending a letter to take this step.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 3, 2007 -> 01:09 PM) Don't be so sure. Weber is right there in the hunt. Conventional wisdom says Kansas or Memphi$, but, Weber is right in the thick of things with the in-state talent this year. Something tells me even if Illinois misses on Liggins, Illini fans won't be disappointed with the class of 2008. Oh I agree the class of 2008 is going to be a really good class for the Illini, but Liggins has been at the top of my wishlist for 2 years now (I saw him in person a couple times a bit back). He is quite the versatile talent.

Legally, I'm not sure I like the idea of being able to ban smoking basically anywhere in public like this, but i'll be a hypocrite since I hate smoking and the smell of cigs and say this is great news. When I was in Cali, the difference in air quality at restaurants and bars and all of those places was just astounding.

QUOTE(beautox @ May 2, 2007 -> 07:34 PM) The rays have some pretty awesome promotions and give aways and they're putting and exciting growing team on the field. I still got my Wade Boggs bobblehead and poster up in my room from the giveaway they had when I went to a Rays game in late July of 2005 right around when he was inducted into the HOF. He even gave a cool speech before the game. Best promotional night I've ever been to.

He's going to be a plus major league starter if he is durable enough. I just hope that little body of his can handle the workload long term.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 3, 2007 -> 12:56 PM) If we continue to trade everyone when they are at "peak value" do you ever win another World Series? You don't trade everyone at peak value, hence I didn't want us to trade Dye. However, Crede was at peak value, we would have got more than he was worth in a trade, and although signs point to the contrary this April (which might be why we didn't deal Joe), Fields looked ready late last year. Joe is a late 20's player already with a very bad back who doesn't walk but does strike out and is due for a huge payday soon. We missed a BIG chance to get a coup for him, and that chance is never coming back.

DeAndre Liggins moves to a 5 star prospect on Rivals. I cannot emphasize how much Illinois needs to get him, which means we won't of course.

This GSW/Dallas game tonight is going to be a classic. I can't wait.
