  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) I think 3 lefties is fine in the bullpen anyway, especially if you have 7 guys in there. Seattle had like 4 at the start of the season IIRC. Kinda off topic here, but what does IIRC mean?
  2. Well, they were stupid enough to trade them to us at least. For guys who they no longer have no less.
  3. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) IF he gets his control back and pitches like he did last year, then he would be one of the best. But those are pretty big IF's. Says the president of the send Dingo down club (sign me up btw). I agree that he's a solid reliever IF all those things happen, but SINCE they haven't, he's probably 5th best right now, right behind Cotts and just a bit ahead of the Jizzcan.
  4. You gave Dingo time as part of the reason we DON'T need pen help? If Dingo is our 3rd best reliever right now, we desperately need pen help. Fortunately he's not.
  5. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) There was already a thread about this earlier. Yeah...this thread!
  6. Like I said before the game: Road ace Freddy = 3 runs max
  7. *cough* 73 HR *cough* huge increase in head and body size *cough*
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) I ask now, will we have to trade more for Billy Wagner (who's in the last year of his deal), or Eddie Guardado (who still has 1 more year on his deal after this season). Good question. The answer will come down to 2 factors: 1) Are the Phillies in serious contention on July 31? and 2) Which one has more teams after him at the time? Off the top of my head I'd say Eddie would be cheaper, but Seattle took a BUNCH from us for Freddy last year.
  9. Everyday Eddie going against the Twins to clinch the division would be sweet ironic revenge.
  10. So stop talking about it!
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) So you are saying we should be something like 53-2? I wouldn't mind that a bit.
  12. You're not accounting for the versatility, great defense, and clutch hitting that Timo brings to the table. When you consider all of that, how could you even think about sending this guy down?
  13. We're playing in Coors, but we're not playing a destructive offense. We're playing the Colorado Rockies. If you get Clint Barmes and Todd Helton out, you're good.
  14. More like THE (only) HIT (he's gotten all season)!
  15. Timo is an awesome utilityman. We can't afford to lose someone who plays several positions so well and always gets the hit in the clutch like Timo.
  16. The Cubs only "injury excuse" that might work as of right now would be Prior, but they've been winning a lot since he went on the DL, so there goes that excuse. Nomar has been replaced incredibly by Neifi Perez, and Wood is a 4 starter. That's not bias, that's my highest assessment of any starter that can't win 15 games in a season. Just for fun, anyone know our record during Duque's DL stint?
  17. Pods pinch ran for Everett later in the game, stole second, stole third, and we didn't get a run out of it. So, just because Pods is in the game doesn't mean we'll get a run...and do you really want another automatic out in the lineup (Timo or Crede, pick your poison) and worse defense at 1B in a tie game late?
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) Long Ball Freddy+Coors= what do you think? Road Ace Freddy = 3 runs MAX, don't care where the game is, as long as it's not at Comiskey.
  19. Damnit! Not that I thought there was a chnce of that, just that Jake Peavy is an awesome pitcher, and he's only 23. I'd love to see him on the south side, but I know it's not going to happen.
  20. Any chance San Diego's GM could go temporarily insane and decide to trade us Peavy for Everett?
  21. How exactly would we play an NL West team in a wildcard? What are you talking about?
