He needs to make the decision to sign with the White Sox after he leaves the building with the Phillies tomorrow so the White Sox can have some time to put some other pieces around him this year. They already missed out on the best secondary piece on the market in Brantley.

That's a due diligence meeting. They're not really in on him. Hopefully he wants to make them pay for that, because the best way for him to do that would be in a White Sox uniform.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm suggesting. It's a commonly used phrase in the sports world to mean do everything you can while he's there to sign him, though teams have in fact made it difficult but not impossible for players to physically leave during successful contract negotiations before.

Since I'm assuming this is now the default Machado thread... They should not let Machado leave the building tomorrow without a contract. Best way to ensure he doesn't sign with the Yankees is sign him before they meet.
