Missed most of this game but thanks to those contributing to this thread. Sounds like Jake really answered his critics.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 02:37 AM) We are 21-7 in games that Jenks has pitched in, in any situation.. for comparisons sake, the Yankees are 20-4 in games that Rivera has pitched in.. My post about you throwing some stat at us was more of a joke than anything, didn't mean for you to think I think you are a Jenks hater or anything.. I understand he deserves criticism for how poorly he looked at the start of the season.. The argument for most people isnt that Jenks can't be good. There's more a suspicion that he stops throwing the curve for long stretches of time without telling anyone his reasoning. True, he could be informing Coop/Ozzie outside our knowledge....but there seems to be a scenario where he keeps going out there, but restricts his curve throwing to 1) pace himself? 2) preserve his health for financial gain this offseason? 3)who knows But since we dont get the info, we begin wondering about these possibilities.

6/13 GT: White Sox @ Cubs - 7:00pm CDT ESPN
People jumping on our hitters looking bad in the 9th. Marmol has an insane amount of ability when harnessing it. I tip the cap, cant be shocked w/ our bats the way theyve been this year.

Olney: Sox to start trading away vets
At some point Buehrle has to have a last game ever in a White Sox uniform. If the time's now to maximize his value in trade, the real fan wants the right move to be made. It's a tough decision to make but that's why the evaluators get paid what they're paid.

HH retrospective
On Comcast right now. Very interesting to me to hear Hawk discuss his days as GM. He seems to be very uncomfortable talking about his one 'recent' failure

Olney: Sox to start trading away vets
QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) Please explain to me why some of you want to keep Alexei. I cannot stand him, his style of play, and what he "brings" to the Sox. If I was the GM, I'd be looking for upgrades at the SS position while unloading some of the vets. I wouldn't be as frustrated with AR if he was playing 2B, but that is supposedly going to be Gordon Beckham's position for his entire career with the Sox. People focus on his defense from the first half of last year. But it has gotten a lot better since then. If your biggest problem is the occasional lackadaisical throw, that can be corrected. He's cheap labor and a lot of bat for the SS position(at that price). No one wants to hear that he's a good dollar value of talent, but good teams manage to have that guy. Our problem is we havent populated the roster with star big $ talent to complement our nice bargain buys. So for that reason AR looks like a drain on the ticket at the moment.

Galarraga perfect game broken up by umpire
Deeply hating specific teams is kind of pointless. Very 'look at me look what i'm doing'

Galarraga perfect game broken up by umpire
Galarraga actually is married to a southside girl I know of

GT: White Sox @ Rays, 5/30 12:40 CDT, WGN
Pierre's OBP isnt sparkling obviously, but I'd hold that he mightve been enough to make a difference if we had Becks/CQ and a DH working on all cylinders.

Cant we all just get along(and get back to blaming the team)

GT: White Sox @ Rays, 5/30 12:40 CDT, WGN
I've been a little out of the loop for the last two weeks. Is it safe to say this is the first real sign lately of Santos being used in important situations....at least consistently...maybe for a week now? or less?

Phillies scouting Jenks and Putz
My mom still brings up missing Aaron Rowand maybe every fifth game she watches. Lesson learned:Moms love Aaron Rowand. Aaron Rowand is for moms.

Gamethread: White Sox(16-24) vs Marlins (22-20) 7:10 PM
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 21, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Laughing at the Marlins broadcast team poking fun at the Brewers for being down 13-0 to Minnesota. Umm, hello? Well in all fairness the announcers rightly so perhaps arent considering themselves part of the team.

Santos is pretty awesome.

Angels @ White Sox 5/19/10 Game Thread!
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 19, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) The way things are going, by July Hawk will lose all ability to sound like a homer. Loved his comment about the defense. Being with StonePony may have made Hawk a better announcer. Has his feet held to the fire perhaps a little more now

Angels @ White Sox 5/19/10 Game Thread!
It's still hard to believe how much we heard about Nix having a great glove before he got here. Atrocious from day one at all positions.

White Sox vs Royals 5-16-10 @ 1:10 pm
Rios is great. Jesus.

Congrats Jose Contreras
He used to be a four inning pitcher for us for awhile. Effective first innings. Always thought the pen shouldve been in consideration for El Titan
-
Congrats Jose Contreras
First career save. "Twenty-two years starting games, and now my career is closing games," Contreras said after Saturday's game. "It was a tough situation at that moment, but I was able to save the game. That's the most important thing."

Replacing Jenks
Guy 1: "Closers need special experience! Closing is a special thing Santos doesnt have the experience" Guy 2: "Jenks didnt have the experience either in '05" Basically this post will save us 100 future posts in the next week. Just cut and paste as needed. If you ask me, Bobby has built a career off how easy it is for some people to close. When he's in there with the lead in the 9th, people overswing against him year after year. When he's in during a tie game, people calm down and just tee off on his middling offerings. This year, he's been so bad that situation doesnt matter. Now, if Santos is great, he'll be great in an array of situations. On the radio today Spiegel was going on about how Matt Thornton doesnt have the closer's mentality. Call me crazy but I'll take the arm and take my chances.

Royals @ White Sox, 5/5 Game THREAD
I feel slightly bad for the guy whose thread was cancelled. Pointless? Yes. But you're told "we expect more meaningful threads around here," and yet the Justin Bieber thread currently sits at Page 3 on palehose talk. All in lieu of wins i guess.
