Why do people put De Aza on the sucked/ship him out list? He's a 2 to 3 WAR guy who's cheap. What is wrong with this? If you dont like him leading off then the problem is just him leading off. For what he costs, the problems lie elsewhere on this team.

But I want to point out that not only is he a decent twitter follow in general, but he apparently is a big Pacers fan and really enjoys trash talking re: Bulls I guess being from Indianapolis..it seems like he has Chicago knowledge (well, at least compared to what i'd gather from most our spects). To be fair to Ozzie, Kotsay had been good with the White Sox..but a legit look at his career arc should've made it clear he'd return to suckage...whereas Ozzie often is guided by passion and principle instead of substance.

Quintana has really put together two nice years. Still, I have to keep that 'sell high' mindset with him if the offer is right........a mindset i actually dont have for Hector. Comes down to talent perhaps blinding me, but as they're both guys I just categorize as 'solid'......that's where i stand. At least when looking at it separate from contract details.

Looking at the last 1500 at bats for each -- platoon Dunn and Konerko. If PK really wants to take small $ and be here, that is. If all three players start hitting everything, miraculously............then Dunn in LF for ...well portions of games.

Anyone have craft(or otherwise) beer/food matches for me? For instance I've heard standard things like IPA & pizza, or barbecue with porter/stout. In particular I have a Duvel right now and am not loving the food suggestions I see online for this..... In truth I kind of do this as a food-then-beer experience...not simultaneous generally unless we're talking macro lagers.

I kind of took it like Kotsay was the rope that KW was happy to let Ozzie hang himself with. Maybe too black & white of a read on that, but Thome was slated to come back super cheap.......so the whole thing just seems to be missing certain elements. Ozzie publicly said his #1 request that year was to have Kotsay back. I dont know that he insisted Kotsay get an every day role, but he insisted that he at least come back (after having had a nice stretch after being traded from Sox to Sox months prior)

Bernstein currently speculating that this could be a Billy Martin situation one day. Not that I want to ruin a perfectly nice day for any of you... Pure speculation,of course, is what it sounds like
