Let's come up with characters that serve 1 of 2 purposes, either sell toys or fit a missing demographic, and come up with a way to work them into the story. Thinking about it more makes me kind of mad. Finn and Rose were a complete waste of time. Can anyone think of a more useless character than Captain Phasma? I mean, why? Why was she even in both movies?

I was really hoping they'd kill him off because he literally serves no purpose in the plot.

I actually really like Luke's death. The 3 most powerful Jedi all went out by transcending the Force. It mirrored Obi Wan in that Luke realized showing the antagonist the true power of the Force was more important than a sword fight.

Also, Rogue One is the only Star Wars film since Empire that got the tone right. Well, it was the only film that knew exactly what it wanted to be and stayed consistent. The tone in The Last Jedi was a mess. 1. Empire 2. A New Hope 3. Rogue One 4. Return of the Jedi 5. The Force Awakens 6. The Last Jedi 7. Revenge of the Sith 8. Phantom Menace 9. Disgrace of the Clones We ended up with 2 incredible movies, 2 very good movies, 2 mediocre/entertaining movies, and 3 all time bad movies. Lastly, it's pretty obvious they develop an idea for a character and build a story around those characters instead developing a story and creating characters to serve the story.

I don't know how I feel about it. I think Kylo Ren's arc is interesting. I loved that he killed Snoke and don't mind that Snoke didn't have a backstory. The Emperor didn't have a back story at this point either. He was just evil. I'd probably give it a 6.5. I kind of feel closure now that Luke is gone. When they introduced the new Force sensitive kid, I knew I was over it. I have no interest in following a different story in this universe. Star Wars has been a huge part of my entertainment, but I'm okay with moving on. I don't really care what happens to Kylo or Rey at this point, though I like the direction they've taken Kylo Ren in.

As societal views of race relations changed, a number of politicians were forgiven for the positions they held. I wonder if the same will be done as societal views on the objectification of women changes. There should be a distinction between those that are guilty of being dirty old men and those that used their power to abuse women sexually. Franken's case seems pretty benign when compared to Weinstein and CK, imo.

And here I thought the NFL's popularity was declining because of the over-commercialization/over-analyzation and that Millennials just aren't as interested in watching black men attempt to kill each other for entertainment. It's actually because a small group of players are protesting by not standing for a song with little modern relevance.

I'm a sober alcoholic. One of the many reasons I quit drinking was that I recognized the shift among the younger generation regarding drunken hook ups. I was sleeping with a lot of girls in their early 20's and, while it was always consensual, I recognized that I'm putting myself in a dangerous position. It doesn't matter if I agree with the shift. The court of public opinion doesn't give a s*** about my opinion. I'd rather be safe than sorry and it helped me stop drinking.

It's incredibly well made, but there are some things that ruin a couple themes of the original. There's always been different interpretations of the source material and I don't jive with this one. With that said, I need to absorb it some more and I'd watch it again.
