**SPOILER THREAD** GAME OF THRONES ** SPOILER THREAD **

I also thought they made a point to show Randyll Tarly so we knew that a lot of the Tyrrell army defected. -

The show is going to feel rushed because there are budget constraints and they're running out of time. I'm sure everyone involved is ready to move on with their lives and start new projects. They've been working on this for damn near a decade. I'm actually glad they didn't shoe another run of the mill battle scene is this episode. I thought the narration was really well done. It felt more cinematic than typical TV. -

I thought that episode was absolutely epic. Episode 2 was one of the worst ever though. -

I liked it then and still like it now. -
Anthony Swarzak to Brewers; Sox receive Ryan Cordell

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 08:55 AM) Yep, still shocked that he had any value. He's basically performed WAY over his head, is a rental and is really more of a middle reliever than a set up guy or closer. Pretty amazing. Oh and he's 31. Yeah, that's why I find this hilarious. We're talking about Anthony Swarzak. 6 months ago he was lucky to even be playing baseball for money. You aren't going to parlay a few good months of relief pitching for a lousy team into a top prospect. People's expectations are so warped. -

You guys are still arguing about Anthony Swarzak? -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 10:31 PM) He is the 8th best reliever by era of relievers who have thrown 30 innings or more. That is pretty damned valuable. He's done it all. High leverage, multiple innings, anything we've asked. A White Sox pitcher hasn't thrown a single inning of high leverage baseball this year. -

Well, I learned one thing. If you're going to get bent out of shape over the return for Anthony f***in Swarzak, you might want to get out of the house and go for a walk. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2017 -> 10:26 PM) I'm the opposite. The dorne characters have fallen too easily. Euron wasn't supposed to be a great warrior They threw some Victarion into TV Euron. Victarion was a great warrior. -
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 11:27 AM) I'm not a huge fan of only judging trades based on the end results years later. Trades should be judged on both the end result and the value traded the day the trade was made. To make an extreme example, if we traded Courtney Hawkins for Mike Trout tomorrow and Trout got hurt in a freak accident and never played another game while Hawkins inexplicably somehow becomes an above-average regular, would that incredible stroke of good and bad luck make that trade a bad one for the White Sox? This is the best post I've read in this thread.

To convince then to actually come play on the Southside? I'm guessing 3/4 of a billion dollars.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 10:48 AM) What does that have to do with it? Q was a 6 year minor league free agent. Mark Buehrle was a 38th round draft pick. Kahnle averages 15 k per 9 innings in the major leagues this year. Rutherford has been ho hum in A ball. Yet Kahnle is sure to have a bad month and be worthless, while if Rutherford has a good month or 2, he's untouchable. I just hope some posters here are prepared when some of these guys (and not necessarily Rutherford) bust. It will happen, yet being ranked #1 on the farm seems to mean as much to some as winning the WS. Who cares what you are ranked. What matters is what these guys become. The Sox staff is on the clock. It was a direct reply to "he was always highly regarded." That's what it has to do with. Keep up, Dick.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) He's not a penny stock. Dude has incredible stuff. He was always well-thought of as a guy who, if he could put it together, he could be dominant. He was a 5th round pick and a Rule 5 guy right? You're acting like we just traded Kershaw for the corpse of Borchard.

A lot of guys with his talent will play to their level of competition. He's not going to be overwhelmed in the majors.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 10:49 PM) Well, just using the estimated 2000 calorie standard, I try to eat around like 1700 or 1800, then if I go to the gym, that number can become more like 1000-1100. So it's not like on gym days I am allowing myself to eat 2500, I try to eat around the same calorie amount each day, but gyms days obviously are a bonus. Also, ordered a Fit Bit Charge 2 as well, just to get a better idea of my daily activity. I'm excited to see how it estimates my calories burned during my volleyball tournament tomorrow. As somebody who owns and uses a fitness tracker, don't trust them. Trust the mirror and the scale.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jul 3, 2017 -> 12:08 AM) Weighed in at 240.8 on Saturday. Only down 3 since I started my gym membership, but I was also had a weigh in at 247 last week because of all the s*** food from my birthday week. Monitor calories and increase deficit. If I was you, I wouldn't even count whatever calories I burned at the gym against the deficit. If you start eating at a 500-700 calories deficit, you'll probably drop 3-5 pounds in the first week, most of which won't be fat, but you'll see results quickly.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 4, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) I had a long reply typed out, to which I just accidentally erased because the Microsoft Surface Pro is a piece of s***. I think we need to just let this play out. If we lose value because he continues to rake and we didn't sign him early enough to defray some of that value by taking on risk, than so be it. We'll likely have to move him. Given the contracts to TA and Robert, I'd like them to avoid taking a big risk on him at this point and having it blow up in our faces. Control Z

QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 07:32 PM) As always, just a ray of sunshine you are. 3 things you see in almost every game thread: 1. He needs to go down a level. 2. He needs to up a level. 3. Fathom being negative.

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
TaylorStSox replied to Baron's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 09:47 AM) I know there is some hard core hindsight going on here, but there was literally not a single person who wanted the Sox to keep Tyler Flowers. None. I did. I certainly wasn't motivated enough to make a stink, but I thought he was a valuable catcher, if only for how well he handled certain pitchers. -
I'll only add that Alexei was criminally underrated by Sox fans. We'll be extremely lucky if Anderson is as good.

Beric f***ing Dondarrion Now, they've got my attention again.
