Where the f*** is Dennis Rodman when you need him?
-
Duh. You guys think Brian Anderson and Brandon Mccarthy were just drinking Miller Lite until 6 am a few nights a week?

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 01:45 PM) Meh, disagree on both. I don't think they are stellar but I wouldn't call them poor, and not sure why Kit doesn't fit the description. Too short. Too pretty. Looks neither Stark nor Targ. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) Agreed. Honestly the entire show is well cast. Even the kids have grown into their roles as they have aged amazingly well. Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington are both pretty poor actors. Emilia looks the part at least, but Kit doesn't. -

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 02:16 PM) Bran is like a computer right now, and he's still processing the world torrent. I am a bit surprised he hasn't been offering more tidbits but I think that's just related to him trying to understand the info still. No. He's the 3 Eyed Raven. He's not Bran Stark. Just like Bloodraven was no longer Brynden Rivers. -

Bran didn't give Arya that dagger to enact some revenge. He gave it to her because it's Valyrian steel and she's a bad ass. It's for the war with The Others. -

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 01:54 PM) He's an opportunist. Not sure he's a truly evil guy in this world where there are very few right/moral people. And i'm just saying, from a story telling perspective, it's been a LONG time since LF did anything truly awful. He's been pushed aside for a while now. His last major act was saving the good guys. I don't believe you're actually serious. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 01:53 PM) We actually have no idea the extent to the role LF has played in everything the last many seasons. I do think the TV show is setting up Arya to kill LF when she hears from Bran something bad he did. I'm getting the feeling Bran won't be a part of any of the Stark vendetta. He's no longer Bran Stark. He's no longer human really. -

He's been behind the death of Ned, Cat and Rickon along with Sansa's rape, but you know, has he really done anything to the Starks? -

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 01:28 PM) Yeah, that's the big problem - the show has done a poor job with LF. For 2 seasons he's been sitting on the sidelines, literally just roaming the halls. His last "bad" act was sending Sansa to Ramsey, but he also saved Sansa/Jon/the North, so isn't that kind of a wash? Other than potentially starting the whole war, has he really done anything "bad" to the Starks, the only real "good guys" in the show? You can't really blame him for Ned's death when he tried to help Ned and Ned was just an idiot and wouldn't take his advice. I had a thought that maybe Arya was going to kill LF and then use LF's face to kill Cersei, but that would feel hollow. I just don't feel much for/against LF at this point. He's a secondary character. If he gets killed, I don't think it's going to be some huge moment. They need to either build him back up or back down. Pick a lane. Right now he's just "there." Is this is a serious post? -
QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 11:49 AM) And Jones likes to drive under the influence, crash into pregnant women and leave the scene. One guy has broken the law a few times and one hasn't. The point is, who cares? I don't watch Jon Jones fight because I think he may, or may not be, a decent human being. Most of these guys are idiot jocks, not role models.

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 11:37 AM) Why did he tell Bran he didn't know where the dagger came from then? Unless I'm misremembering that line. Because it's Littlefinger. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 12:28 AM) You can't blame DC for that imo. Jones cost that dude a ton of money when they were originally supposed to have their first 2nd fight. And Jones was the ultimate fake good guy for the longest time until he got caught being an ass. In the end, it doesn't matter as Jones is just the better fighter. Dude is only 30 and might be in the GOAT discussion already. Also, I know this is just me falling for the big name vs big name thing but count me in for Jones-Brock. Two guys I despise bashing each others faces in works for me. When you assess this type of value to athletes, it's your fault. It's been the same forever. Athletes aren't heroes. There are no good guys and bad guys. Jon Jones like white chicks and cocaine. Daniel Cormier likes white chicks and chicken. Who cares?

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 10:55 AM) So, just so I'm clear. There was a bit of interplay between the "previously" and the episode where it showed Baelish telling Cat Stark the dagger belonged to Tyrion Lannister, but then in the show Baelish telling Bran he didn't know who the dagger belonged to. Obviously, Bran (the most charismatic character in the world) would know now. So, is that accurate? We haven't known how involved littlefinger was in promoting the war of the 5 kings, so maybe we find out in the coming weeks. Littlefinger is getting pushed out to margins right now, they do not appear to be setting him up for redemption. IIRC, Littlefinger lost the dagger in a bet with Robert. Joffrey stole the dagger from Robert to give to the cut throat to "put Bran out of his misery." -
Dunkirk is more of a series of scenes than a complete movie.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 11:16 AM) I suppose the answer is fear - they know what she's capable of. Maybe the writers gave a nod to this idea when they had Jaime tell Euron about how fickle the masses were - one second yelling at Cersei in the streets, the next loving her. Yeah, I thought that was obvious. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 10:28 AM) Not me...I watch and enjoy. I wish they would have had a normal season length (vs. this 6 episode season) as I think it would have better allowed for the timing matters, but I still absolutely enjoy the show. I'm the same way. I take it at face value and either like it or don't. It reminds me of the people trying to break down Zack Collins swing even though they've seen it like 10 times and have no coaching experience. *opens can of worms* -

We've also hit the point where a strange phenomenon in TV occurs. People start to watch the show just to find inconsistencies. It happened with The Sopranos too. This show is even more subject to it because of its incredibly massive scale. -

It's like watching a Scorsese movie that's 3 hours if character building and then they all get killed in some montage. There are limitations to what you can realistically depict.
