We've also hit the point where a strange phenomenon in TV occurs. People start to watch the show just to find inconsistencies. It happened with The Sopranos too. This show is even more subject to it because of its incredibly massive scale.

Personally, I'd rather watch 5 minutes of the Queen of Thorns mocking Jaime Lannister than a battle, but that's just me.

It's like watching a Scorsese movie that's 3 hours if character building and then they all get killed in some montage. There are limitations to what you can realistically depict.
