Garrett Crochet called up
One of the most frustrating things as a fan is watching a GM group in over their head compound errors in a last ditch effort to save face. It's like GarPax bringing in the "three amigos".

Garrett Crochet called up
Eh, this org sucks and is stupid but this isn't an example of it. Thinking he was a starter when they drafted him and that he wasn't going to flay his UCL to a single thread within a few years started this entire chain of frustration. There were plenty of red flags around him, but the Sox of course thought they knew more than everybody else.

Who would you actually pay to watch hit?
Frank on one leg in Toronto was better that most of these bums, that's for sure.

Kopech turns to rubble. (Fangraphs article)
Honestly he might be one of the 15-20% or so that never really bounces back from TJS. You add in all his lower body injuries the last couple years, his questionable mental makeup (at least for performing on the baseball field) and it's yet another reminder of TINSSAAPP.

Who would you actually pay to watch hit?
When Moncada is on he has one of the prettiest most powerful pull swings from the left hand side as anybody, so I went with him. That said, the last guy I really enjoyed watching hit on the Sox was prime Abreu. Other than chasing junk away he really didn't have a weakness and was capable of getting himself out of slumps with a good solid inside out approach while also retaining pull power.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
Some HR/FB luck (28%) but his EV numbers indicate a true talent upgrade. Still striking out too much and could take more walks. I see him having an Avi like career where the tools tantalize but most years he's a slightly below average regular. Maybe puts up 12 career WAR.

Burger back, Pérez back down
They all suck but if we're just going to lose you might as well lose with Burger and Colas getting as many MLB PA as possible. I'd consider just DFA Sheets or trading him for some PTBNL.

Is Vaughn a good enough 1b to rebuild around?
He's another guy whose arrow is pointing straight down. As the last two posts in this thread note, he hasn't even posted a positive WAR season yet. Another complete bust right now. Just another guy.

Regardless of our apathy, it's a White Sox Winner!
You won't get anything more than a C prospect for him. He's not even close to the level of the guys Hahn pawned off in the ultimately worthless Rutherford trade. The sad thing is we do not have many trade assets. Every single one of our guys other than maybe Robert and Cease have middling value. We do not have a Sale this time of around to get back two top 20 guys. We don't even really have an Adam Eaton.

Hey man, this is one of the 50 you're gonna win.

Moncada is going to have a great year...for 80 games.

- I've figured out how to turn the Sox around
I mean, the Sox already got the branding...- White Sox at Royals, 5/11/23
You'll never get it, if you do, it will be 20 years from now when nobody involved really has a financial interest anymore. The league is so small and incestuous that nobody working in the FO (or players for that matter) is going to step out of line and make a stink. It's possible you could have a guy like Jim Margulus do some muckracking but once again I don't think he's going to bite the hand that feeds him that hard either. We're pretty much just fucked until JR dies, and even then who knows if Michael (if he keeps the team) will be any better.- Is Vaughn a good enough 1b to rebuild around?
He's not a cornerstone but he's not a guy you rush to trade either given his value league wide, even if you're (once again) rebuilding. If he can work on his launch angle he can turn into a good regular. Right now he's just another guy, talented, but just a guy and wouldn't return much prospect wise.- Least likeable team since 2000
Hahn's execution of the initial trades was excellent. The organization as a whole since that move has been awful on every front: scouting, coaching, drafting, asset allocation, trades (and yes) -- fan relations. It was only the initial success of those trades that helped us do the little winning we did.- Fire Rick Hahn
I think what will happen is that in the offseason they will fire Hahn, and KW will be able to hand pick the next GM as his last great "favor" to JR. Hahn will be fired in the gentlest way possible, sorta like GarPax, almost a mercy slaying at that point.- White Sox at Royals, 5/11/23
The breaker is blown on the switch. You flip it, nothing happens.- Opening up my mind to giving the season a clean slate
This club is remarkable alright.- White Sox at Royals, 5/11/23
I mean last year's team was better on paper, but they finished with 81 wins. This year we will be lucky to win 65. TLR wasn't the solution but in hindsight he wasn't he main problem either.- White Sox at Royals, 5/11/23
TLR is really looking better and better as this season goes on. For whatever flaws he had, and he had a bunch, the team never tanked like this and it's basically the same team as last year.- White Sox at Royals, 5/11/23
