GT: Yankees at White Sox, Game 1 - 7:10 CT
come on now, we all saw he made massive strides and has continued to make strides. This is a tough lineup, he's not pitching terribly they just do a lot of things right as a club and right now the Sox aren't.

he turned into a more injured El Caballo. We were hoodwinked.

I think the post-COVID attendance bump for MLB is dead. Oakland drew like 2.5K last night.

Well if it's one thing this team does well it's patience at the plate!

2022 MLB catch all thread
kinda buried the lede there: In the history of MLB, there has been only one recorded instance of an on-field lightning strike, and it was more than a century ago.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
Ha yea, and Kikuchi is holding his own in Toronto. The Mariners are a knockoff version of the White Sox. I've been saying that for a decade now. They have many of the same issues with player development, scouting, resource allocation and so on. Except the Mariners are just worse at it all then the Sox even.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
career slash line in 473 PA is now 173/256/338 for a 70 wRC+ and -.2 fWAR. Fangraphs has him with a hot glove to start this year (2.6 runs above average) but when you're hitting 140, well, that's Billy Hamilton or something. He'll be sent down as soon as Lewis is up. The Mariners aren't doing him any favors basically using him as a platoon PH/defense guy right now. He needs everyday AB and the Mariners are going nowhere fast (as I predicted) so just let him get every day ABs in Seattle until Lewis is back then send him down and tell him maybe see him in September back in Seattle. He's still stupid young (won't be 23 until August) so there's hope in development at least.

The Upcoming Yankee Series
Hopefully they strive mightily to not make errors.

Eloy Supposedly Back in Two Weeks
interesting, what do they augment it with? I apparently have a bunch of kevlar like material in my knees after the ruptures.
-
Eloy Supposedly Back in Two Weeks
Oh he did have surgery my bad. Must have been a fairly straightforward grade 2 then.
-
Eloy Supposedly Back in Two Weeks
He looked to be moving around damn well in the dugout. I get the impression Eloy is a bit gun shy with injuries so might have thought it was worse then it was when it happened. Sounds like this was just a grade 1 tear and didn't involve any complications of the tendon or anything. Awesome. I bet he's back with the big club 2nd week of June.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
I don't know. There's a ton of homophobia at all levels of organized sports. I saw it in low level college. Like it was 15 years ago now but the F word was fairly well used and I went to a very progressive school. Anybody on the other team we didn't like was usually a F**. It's just the culture. Not saying it's right I'm just saying it's there.

Cueto to Sox (Official)
That's what I was thinking. He'll get one start and if he sucks he's gone. I don't really take anything from his AAA numbers. This is basically his spring training.
-
Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
This is completely plausible. If there's a paper trail it will be found in emails and texts where they discussed it. If they did fire him because the players were uncomfortable, that's unfortunate but I'm not sure how I'd expect the Sox to operate otherwise. If you keep the guy you risk a player revolt and I think 90% of MLB players would prefer to *not* have a gay trainer. It's just the reality of of the clubhouse.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Has Ball tried to go work for another team? That would seem to be useful info. If he has and hasn't been hired maybe he's desperate. Who knows. The Sox could have discriminated and he could still have personal issues that make him bad at the job. We will never know this will get settled before trial.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
You are really expanding this wildly. We don't know anything about this other than the accusations are bad and for now unverified.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
The allegations are disturbing, but they are just allegations, if there is something there I'd imagine there is a paper trail or email / text trail that discovery will find.

After last night:
-
GT: Guardians at White Sox, Game 2 - 7:10 CT
how will they lose?

GT: Guardians at White Sox, Game 2 - 7:10 CT
This team reminds me of a RV squad. For all the talk about TLR's old school ways I think he's a soft ass in age frankly. Team is TOO COMFIE overall.
