I'm absolutely fine trading Liam. It's the sort of sell high Hahn actually excels at and if we could actually score some fucking runs this year elite closer won't be as important. f*** I'm actually getting some hope up again.

Looking at his batted ball profile, there's some worrying signs. Whatever. He's probably a 2 WAR player. That's better than what we were working with previously.

Better late than never. He's a solid regular. We could use more of those.

The CBA worked, and is working. The deals signed this offseason are being done quickly and without much resistance from the clubs. They know the money train is stopping for nothing, not even "bad contracts" or "luxury tax". Meanwhile the Sox' biggest contract ever handed out in FA remains Grandal. Hard out here for Sox fans.

That's about what you would expect. On paper this is another 84 or so win team.

It's stupid we are where we are with him and the money and the contention window. It's all fubar.

As I said at the time they should have traded him at the deadline. Letting him walk is fine, letting him walk for nothing is stupid.

Well you only need to look across the division to Cleveland to see how quickly a "non contending" year can turn into a contending year. I'm not going to write the Sox off in 2023 and neither should anybody else. That said, there is work to be done on the roster to improve our chances. Getting our young guys into more suitable positions defensively and letting them focus on health and their offense is part of that.

A move that should have been made earlier. The poor roster construction has haunted this team for years. Jose shut me up plenty and I still have the ball he signed for me almost a decade ago now down in AZ. So it's bittersweet to see him leave but at least it clears 1B and DH up for younger players.

Mildly optimistic they managed to hire a manager without any ties to the city or franchise. That said, unless they fix the roster it doesn't matter.
