  1. I think it's also that there really isn't much out there other than rentals. There's no team looking to trade anybody cost controlled for more than a couple years from what I've seen. You've also got a number of teams that don't really need a lot of help to win their division and won't be overpaying. Buyers and sellers seem pretty well balanced overall with a number of teams, especially in the NL, that are probably 50/50 on buying or selling and would probably have to think they got a big win either way to make a move.
  2. they must just be trolling. that's twitter for you, any click is a good one. every gallo package they've proposed has been similar to the Quintana deal in proposed return.
  3. That was me but I still don't want him. Or I don't want him at any price more than Kelley + filler, which I think some other teams can beat.
  4. This one is great too: I don't think 90% of MLB fans understand that trade value is much more than just performance. Team control and surplus value matters just as much and Gallo is only under team control for one more season and he will be on a market rate through arb.
  5. lol, more bad takes: I'm surprised the Sox didn't throw in Vaughn as well in this batshit insane hypothetical trade.
  6. I dunno about that. He's not a guy whose issues are going to be solved with higher intensity shorter appearances and the Sox know that. He's a 5th starter or basically a AAAA mopup type. Looks like the latter for now.
  7. Seems like a buyers' market if that is the price for a decent rental OF.
  8. not to mention Tim behind the plate and Sheets at SS.
  9. Just from watching those vids his mechanics, as you'd expect from a HSer, are all over the place. Sometimes he uses a toe tap, other times he doesn't. Wonder if the Sox think he has some obvious stuff they can fix.
  10. Anderson to catcher and Moncada to 2B, print the WS tickets.
  11. Sox are becoming a bit of a catcher factory.
  12. I was overly harsh on the guy and apologize to him and his colleagues here. Your response said everything for me. I just have strong thoughts on Sox baseball and sometimes get a bit carried away.
  13. good lord. I guess next time I think someone is an idiot I'll just have to consider who they work for as to not offend anybody! I've only said a million fucking times here how much I appreciate the work Future Sox does and often times I'm one of the only fucking people bothering to give some nice forum stickers to the Future Sox updates. People see what they want to see, including about my posting. Says more about them than myself. I read about 30 tweets from that guy and I thought he was a fucking idiot. his description of Yermin's BP for example. Like, has the guy ever taken BP in any high level setting? You're not exactly "swinging all out" or even swinging to make great contact at all times. love Futuresox tho.
  14. Do we even know for certain it was a "healthy scratch"? Just one unaccredited twitter guys' post, no? Did the Sox release anything official?
  15. I literally just prior to that, posted in the area of the forum it belongs that I hope the Sox upgrade 2B.
  16. I just waded into this thread to see you derailing it with 500 more words about how not bothered you are about the Sox. Hey, I respect the passion but just say you're not happy with the club and are demanding excellence!
  17. that guy Jeff Cohen on twitter that broke this news comes across as a fucking idiot imo.
  18. Good god man you are def not happy with the current state of the team.
  19. I can see a few possibilities, none of them good for Lopez. Won't speculate more, not fair to him.
  20. The fangraphs blurb said basically the same. They got two lefty batting SSs with first round grades, that's intriguing.
  21. None of the reasonable options are much better than Adam Engel in RF once Robert is back IMO. My guy Mendick is not really a full time player, much to my chagrin, so I'm with @raBBit the priority is 2B and RF can be addressed one way or another in the offseason.
