  1. Good to see lance get out of there at 19 pretty easy pitches. Noice.
  2. I think Stone's twitter takes on how the fans should feel about the club are asinine and foolish (who's to tell US how to feel?) but he is in a position to evaluate Tony as a former player and I don't really know how you could argue with him here. And there's this: TA isn't gonna trash TLR at the ASG but he explained pretty well exactly why he's a players' manager. He lets the players do what they want but expects them to perform instead the lines. Perfect. That's the trust element and treating your guys like men as long as they have their mind and body ready to perform.
  3. he'll have to bill you when the power is restored.
  4. You could be correct. I hope you are because it means everybody is relatively healthy. Here's hoping.
  5. IKR? Manny had the monster to just play wall ball with but FFS if Manny can play a -10 run LF safely for 15 years you'd think Eloy could. I'm not sure he can tho. Dude is the LF version of Jim Furyk's swing: An octopus falling out of a tree.
  6. I don't even think it's him wanting to play the field I think it's more "we have a million DH types already and in the playoffs and stretch run this is where you're gonna have to play". I'm probably one of the biggest "he can't fucking play LF safely" people here but he's just gonna have to this year, there's no other place to put him. We just have to hope he doesn't collide with any objects hard enough to hurt himself or someone else.
  7. Key phrase in that tweet about the extra inning runner is "...in the 10th..." I would imagine they will put the runner on 2nd starting in the 12th, which I am completely fine with. Nobody except maybe like .1% of fans (so like 1/1000) really wants to sit at the park long after booze has been cut off and watch the 13th inning.
  8. I agree he's a horse but just limiting his bullets can't hurt. I could be wrong but I believe he has thrown the most pitches of anybody on the team to this point.
  9. Yea sure I just don't understand that trade the other day then. Like what did the Sox send them? A deep dish?
  10. yea i saw the sox posted he was granted unconditional release yesterday, so wtf happened here? why did the Braves trade some random scrub to the Sox? Don't the Sox have like a week to try and trade him after the put him on waivers? So basically nobody wanted him and the Sox just were like fuck it we'll eat the entire contract?
  11. he's made at least 5 outs over 390 feet. Probably closer to 10. He's hit the top of the wall a couple times. some of it is bad luck.
  12. I think Rodon especially needs to have a few starts skipped. I know he's like expendable to the Sox long term but we need him fresh for the playoffs.
  13. Kopech has all of 35 IP. Unless the plan is to keep him under 80, there's no way he doesn't get half a dozen starts in the 2nd half, right? I don't want to go to a 6 man and disrupt the flow of the rotation but the Sox should def consider skipping some Lynn and Rodon starts.
  14. Of those that have much, much is expected or something.
  15. Elite SP and a good offense fueled by walks and good situational hitting. That’s where the +115 runs come from.
  16. Just to clarify I was referring to the general discontent around Moncada and the weekly complaining here about the Sox' relative lack of HRs. Your thread here is at least open minded.
  17. Fans are fickle and for the most part stupid, honestly. For a decade the Sox had a horrible team OBP and a bad offense. Now we have a great OBP and a good offense and moar homerz is the cry from a certain segment. Good grief.
  18. I think we got some shares of "growth stocks". Let's hope they grow.
  19. Yoan Moncada has 13.1 fWAR before age 27-29 (usually considered the absolute prime of a player's career) and on a rate basis is worth about 4 fWAR per 162 games. You are talking about trading him because a 25 year has had a nice half season in AAA and a half dozen decent MLB starts? You're insane dude. Like, there's no other way about it. What you're arguing isn't even a thing. There isn't a single team in MLB that would take Jake Burger over Yoan Moncada over the next 5 years. Yoan Moncada is one of the most 30 or so valuable players in MLB over the next few years as a trade asset thanks to his contract and ability. Jake Burger would barely net a decent reliever rental or maybe like a "B" grade low level minor leaguer if the Sox wanted to go that route. This is nothing against Jake Burger, he has made himself from an absolute zero, into a legit fringe MLB player with potential to be an solid everyday regular by the time he's 28 or so, but listen to yourself! That's all he is, a fringe MLB player at the moment. Yoan Moncada is a proven everyday star. You want to talk about Yoan's history of minor INJURIES as a reason to go with Jake? You gotta be bleeping me! Who is the guy with a twice shredded achilles? It ain't Yoan!
  20. I'll take my humble pie served warm please. Hank Aaron. Oof, I feel bad.
  21. I came across good in that thread so I approve of the bump!
