  1. someone check him for the sticky stuff, mercy.
  2. Lynn looks pretty sharp three pitches in.
  3. Once again the shitty 2B is the guy on pace to play a trillion games. The more things change...
  4. So many guys play with the damn webbing hardly even laced up now. I get you want a soft feel and a deep pocket but bro you're also facing dudes that can hit it 109mph.
  5. Given his history he's not gonna get the benefit of the doubt from any ump. Is what it is. If he keeps hitting I don't really care if he gets thrown out once every other week.
  6. I feel like that's just part of his persona and brand at this point. None of his ejections lately have been really ejection worthy imo. I just rewatched it on MLB.tv and yea, @Tony is right, he didn't need to get so upset the ump called it correctly it seemed.
  7. He's 3/15 to start the year for a 200/250/267 slash. Entering today he had a 25 OPS+, granted still an ultra small sample. But that "slow start" now brings his career slash to 168/250/335 for an OPS+ of 65 in his first 566 MLB PA. I believe he is challenging the worst mark after 600 PA in MLB history for BA.
  8. You need to separate process and results buddy -- every early aughts writer at BPro
  9. When does launch angle normalize for a team? That will be a key metric for us as we get into the meat of the season.
  10. 13 more hits. Other than the opener of this series the offense has been pretty damn good.
  11. Hi I'm Joe Kelly and I'm here to annoy the piss out of Sox fans.
  12. another dude that Hahn couldn't properly value going forward. we seem to acquire relievers based on past performance and it doesn't work.
  13. Can someone inform Joe Kelly he's got a 6 run lead?
  14. Had to miss this one 'cause work got busy but good to see a nice bounceback game from the offense and obviously Cease looked good just from the box score. Nice to see him pick up where he left off in the opener.
  15. What exactly is he doing in the offseasons? His training is obviously not working. It's not really a matter of being "tight" or stretching more it's more the holistic training plan is just wrong, everything from his lifting regime to his nutrition and functional motions.
  16. kopech just seems like a guy that will let the clock get into his head at times.
  17. I love it. Vaughn isn't good enough to swing 3-0 there. oh you're talking about their pitcher, I thought Grifol said something to Vaughn as well.
  18. i know it's mostly statistical noise but god damn we are brutal with RISP again so far this year.
  19. Most the scouting reports I read on him (was doing a bunch of reading last night, finally got around to brushing up on some of the younger guys) said he'll be an above average RF with good range, decent instincts and a good arm. I was thinking maybe like +5 runs over average or +15 over the course of the year above a guy like Fields, who would be -10, so a full 1.5 WAR difference just having him out there.
  20. He made a helluva play to avoid Robert imo. If that's Eloy both guys are probably carted off. Also, on the topic of outfield defense nice play by Colas and it was nice to see Clevinger sing his praises post game. If you're gonna be a douchbag off the field at least be a good team mate in the clubhouse.
  21. We really need at least 5 out of Kopech today. If not I can't see us winning unless the offense wants to score 8 or so. It's fairly amazing how thin the bullpen is and how good the rotation looks at the same time. Lets hope Kopech is healthy and ready to pitch 160 innings because if he can, we'll have one of the best rotations in baseball it appears.
