  1. It's a .500 team. I'm not quite ready to get out the pitchforks yet but it is fairly clear playoffs are 50/50 at this point and the over under on wins is probably like 86 instead of 92. At most a manager might make a 2 game difference tactically over the course of a season. Yea, you want a good one but having a bad tactical manager is something good clubs overcome all the time including uh, the 2021 White Sox.
  2. TLR is a convenient scapegoat for the completely underwhelming 25 man depth his boss put together.
  3. "your bullpen is only as good as your offense" -- some old idiot.
  4. In hindsight Jose's comments about this being his last year were a bad omen.
  5. If that was the fucking plan then you should have made backup catcher a much higher priority.
  6. seriously how much fucking longer can you have a guy with a 300 OPS on pace for 500 PA? Like dude, wtf. How do you justify that?
  7. TIM FUCKING ANDERSON HAS THE HIGH OBP IN THE LINEUP AT .368. 6 GUYS MAKE AN OUT MORE THAN 70% OF THE TIME. WE SUCK. REECE MCQUIRE, WHO WE RAN OFF A 2ND ROUND PICK FOR THAT WE DEVELOPED FOR YEARS HAS A 300 OPS. A 300 OPS.
  8. It's going to be a struggle to win 88 games.
  9. have some fucking urgency you're sitting at .500 and we're 20% done already. It's not week 2 anymore.
  10. come on now, we all saw he made massive strides and has continued to make strides. This is a tough lineup, he's not pitching terribly they just do a lot of things right as a club and right now the Sox aren't.
  11. he turned into a more injured El Caballo. We were hoodwinked.
  12. I think the post-COVID attendance bump for MLB is dead. Oakland drew like 2.5K last night.
  13. that's one too many -- sox defense
  14. Well if it's one thing this team does well it's patience at the plate!
  15. kinda buried the lede there: In the history of MLB, there has been only one recorded instance of an on-field lightning strike, and it was more than a century ago.
  16. madrigal on 10 day IL officially with "lower back tightness". yea, I guess maybe it was smart to trade him. dude is going to have kinetic chain problems his entire career it seems.
  17. lol only in the south do you see a 60 something white woman in a sheer pink top sexing it up...
  18. Ha yea, and Kikuchi is holding his own in Toronto. The Mariners are a knockoff version of the White Sox. I've been saying that for a decade now. They have many of the same issues with player development, scouting, resource allocation and so on. Except the Mariners are just worse at it all then the Sox even.
  19. career slash line in 473 PA is now 173/256/338 for a 70 wRC+ and -.2 fWAR. Fangraphs has him with a hot glove to start this year (2.6 runs above average) but when you're hitting 140, well, that's Billy Hamilton or something. He'll be sent down as soon as Lewis is up. The Mariners aren't doing him any favors basically using him as a platoon PH/defense guy right now. He needs everyday AB and the Mariners are going nowhere fast (as I predicted) so just let him get every day ABs in Seattle until Lewis is back then send him down and tell him maybe see him in September back in Seattle. He's still stupid young (won't be 23 until August) so there's hope in development at least.
  20. don't fuck this up admin.
