  1. Sadly many people don't consider the safety of others to your degree. And I agree with everything you wrote. If you take the precautions, and by now we know a masked up socially distanced person at an outdoor event -- is not a super spreader. In fact you could probably have 2/3 the stadium infected and you wouldn't get it because a) it's outside and b) you're vacced. The vaccines are fire. They are one of the great feats in human history. They killed COVID dead in Israel, which is a good test case for how they can work in larger western countries eventually.
  2. That point is now. We're doing a good job getting the most vulnerable vacced. Businesses are dying and losses are accelerating. We have to be at least partially open this spring and summer.
  3. LFG! I tell you what, if I can somehow get the vac in the next three weeks I AM THERE. Spring training is FUCKING AWESOME. I've been 3 times now. I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's the best man.
  4. I'm with you. They need to fix the pre-arb system. I'm not a big shot actuary or attorney I'm not going to throw out proposals but it doesn't take a genius to see the current system is broken.
  5. I'm not a religious person but if I was I'd be praying the union can stay united and present a unified front this round. The gap between the vets and the young in pay is untenable. I know, it's a union, nothing matters but seniority, but this is extreme haves and have nots, even for a union.
  6. Yea and if he has a nice season you get to sign him again the next year! Only the Dodgers have this sort of "fuck you" money.
  7. That's such a horrible deal for anybody but the Dodgers. Whatever. He was never in play. The opt outs are just poison.
  8. He did a good job but he's teetering on the edge of a cliff.
  9. He has no chance unless Jose is hurt and even then he'd be behind other guys.
  10. He can work as hard as he wants (and I agree with your point about his conditioning, which he's never cared about) but if his arm is paper mache it won't matter. Hopefully he's working smart, not just hard.
  11. If he gets ~250 or so PA I can see 280/350/440. Hard to project anything on less playing time.
  12. Man how the mighty have fallen. Lotta competition for B-Pro these days and PECOTA is just one projection system in a sea of them. Used to be a real event back in the early aughts.
  13. I'm honestly surprised he wanted to come back to the Sox. For 3 million I like the deal. I can't stand Carlos but if he can find a little health he'll be a great middle reliever at that price. I think the odds are decent, maybe like 60/40 he can produce something like a 3.20 ERA in ~70 innings.
  14. you should write him a strongly worded letter.
  15. He's a cheap fuck that hires his buddies. But the Sox have an exciting young club despite him and I am content.
  16. Sure it's valid so is complaining about the cold in winter. Doesn't make it compelling or interesting conversation.
  17. It's beyond me why people beat dead horses.
  18. Not that familiar with him but some info on him here. https://www.prospects1500.com/al-central/white-sox/chicago-white-sox-2021-top-50-prospects/ Helluva free break down really.
  19. Nice to see Lambert and Burdi healthy and able to work out. Need. Moar. Pitching. Depth.
