  1. OK I now dislike the move. What a stupid ass release.
  2. I honestly have very little opinion. I have no idea how he's going to manage and how the players will react to him. Frankly I'm not going to take the opinion of blue checks on twitter as gospel. I'm not happy they signed him; I wanted Hinch -- but I'm not going to pan the move until I see him manage. If he does dumb shit I'll rip him like I ripped Rick every single game.
  3. Have they announced the rest of the coaching staff?
  4. I'm looking forward to what Hahn has to say at the presser to say the least. It seems like they had a laser focus on TLR (which in itself I'm neutral on) and I'm curious who else they interviewed.
  5. What a wild offseason and it's not even November. I'm completely "meh" on this move. I have no idea what to expect.
  6. He can def hit for power and wouldn't at all be a bad emergency backup in case TA gets a bad injury.
  7. He's a dukie. That's good enough for me to dislike him.
  8. In general I do think people here (looking at you Jack) misperceive how people like Tim and Tony operate. These are not wilting flowers otherwise they wouldn't be where they are in their profession. If there are differences they will talk it out and I'd expect even if the talk didn't go well that both would carry on as professionals.
  9. I wonder if the hold up on announcing it is that they are working on getting player approval from the leaders? Could be.
  10. lol, like a ticket agent is going to bad mouth the club. people believe a lot of silly stuff they read online that's for sure.
  11. You just summed up the entire barstool brand. Sadly this style plays with zoomers and even many older people.
  12. Yea I've said this for awhile if Hahn doesn't have full authority he's cucking himself and nothing good will come of it for the Sox and Hahn. If they hire La Russa it's fair to ask how much control he really has in the C suite.
  13. I'd be cool never seeing barstool Dave here again. We got enough blowhards.
  14. Some people are still holding IBM stock too. The breakout is coming!
  15. If you had "building a winning franchise is like parchisi" on your Sox Talk offseaon bingo card go ahead and retire early.
  16. Whoops that was meant to be raised. Thanks for pointing it out.
  17. You guys ever tried to bunt a ball coming in at over 90MPH? Maybe go crank up the pitching machine at the batting cages see how consistently you can place one about 15 feet at a particular angle out in front of you. If it was easy, they'd already be doing it. You can count the amount of times a bunt beat the shift this year on one hand. Some possible rules changes I would like to see that would encourage more balls in play: changing drag on the ball via the seams (increase drag), moving mound back (or lowering it) slightly, raising fences or moving fences back. All things that are way less radical than banning defensive positioning.
  18. The game has changed for the worse (three true outcome is boring AF) but the solution isn't to limit shifting it's to provide incentives against three true outcome. Easier said than done but banning shifts isn't the answer.
  19. Mazara will be lucky to have more than a NRI after the Sox non tender him. At best he signs a 2-3 million deal for a team trying a pump and dump.
  20. I could post quite a bit of data suggesting Mazara is a poor mans avi but it's all going to fall on deaf ears for anybody still clinging to the idea his "breakout" is still coming. His pitch type data suggests a one trick pony that once the League adjusted wasn't able to adjust himself. Covid didn't prevent the guy from hitting any sort of off speed pitch this year the holes in his swing and approach did.
