The bulls moves were another strong signal but this is the strongest yet as there are a lot of reasons "on paper" you could keep Rick. But this is 100% the right move Rick was holding this club back from its WS title hopes.

It's not always easy. A partial tear is hard to see on the imaging and sometimes they will recommend rest and rehab before surgery if it's unclear. As noted, we've seen this movie before where they try and rehab it but eventually need surgery anyways. Sometimes I'd imagine it's "better" (just from a fans standpoint) to fully tear the UCL and just get it over with.

In general the Sox' coaching is an overall detriment, not a positive. The players that succeed do it because they have the IQ and ability to improve. This has been proven over and over again when they try and bring in players that have a "flaw" they think they can fix. See Mazara for the latest example.
