  1. Nice of the Jays to just announce a regular starting time that is going to be 30-40 minutes wrong.
  2. He's -7.1 runs with the glove and is running a small half season sample with the bat. If he's really a 137 wRC+ sure dump him at 1B and call it good. But if he's closer to 115 then he's a platoon super sub type. I'm happy he's doing well, it shows the Sox are doing better on the margins, just like they did well to trade him rather than just lose him to a 26 man crunch on a team that suddenly has too many quality IF.
  3. I will never forget watching Dave Stewart sweat all over the mound and dominate us in the 1993 ALCS.
  4. Might be a delay they are doing some 50 year anniversary thing in Toronto.
  5. You gotta give to get. Getz has been giving and getting in his last few trades. Yes there is downside risk, but it also opens up teams willing to deal with you as a FO. If you're always just jerking other clubs around it's not ideal to getting things done and certain GMs do get reps. Look at the Mead trade. Boston is now a top 100 type prospect and Meade looks like a solid super utility guy. We had no room for him or Gonzo sadly, that's just how it goes, at least we didn't lose them for nothing.
  6. FG just updated their fantasy oriented top 100 list and had smith 95th. it's obviously tilted towards offensive counting stats but he's going to make more lists soon it seems.
  7. yea i bet they try and use him at the deadline in a deal and if a home isn't found he'll just be waived, maybe someone will attempt a move for him then and we get some cash or a lotto ticket.
  8. Schweitzer is a terrier. I like his approach. Probably just a flash in the pan but hey eating innings in blowouts in a good skill for this version of the Sox.
  9. The Chicago White Sox are 2nd in the AL with 466 RS. The Twins are 1st at 471.
  10. Focused game from our guys tonight. Great hitting obviously but also just a well played ball game other than some pitching from Kay, which whatever, the guy is the king of going 4-6 innings, giving up 3-4 runs, and somehow keeping us in the game. Credit the offense but hey at least he hasn't really exploded lately.
  11. Nah, at most it's a contusion and he sits tmr or something.
  12. Schweitzer doesn't f*** around when he comes in with a big lead, refreshing, if they hit it, they hit it, you ain't scoring 8 runs off singles.
  13. Damn that is the most half assed I'll throw a one hopper off the turf throw from 3rd down 8 late you'll see a MLB 3B make. That was us the last few seasons. Feels good not to suck.
  14. Bro how the f*** do you hit that 109 with that flick of the wrist?
  15. OK fair play Montgomery and Montgomery Law Firm is nice.
  16. And those teams have to face the Sox.
  17. The AL is getting crazy tight. Baltimore and Twinkies and Tigers all hot. Red Sox are nuclear.
  18. 36-6 Sox in the last 33 innings. Is that frowned upon?
  19. ah, he just missed it twice in a row there. oh well we'll take the dozen.
  20. man, that is a sick ass swing, there's a little robbie cano in that lower half.
  21. yea, exactly, and the funny thing was he just saw the same mediocre s%*# twice. and he asked the ump if it was a strike, it was 3 inches off the plate. but, as a young LHB, it's tough, I get it.
  22. wtf was teel looking for? Granted that's tough as a lefty.
  23. He's a great artist, don't really agree with him on too much politically but as an artist he's given me a lot of joy through his music, so respect.
