  1. damn what a story, your kid will have quite the story the rest of his/her life.
  2. lol, in college I dated a girl from Homewood-Flossmor. She was a lot of fun. And we used to hang out in Chicago ever weekend which was great.
  3. Solid victory. Nice to see Yoan contribute late. Jose heating up would really be nice. I did laugh when they showed him in the dugout with the "thank goodness!" expression after he hit the HR.
  4. it's honestly amazing that leury and yolmer are above replacement level. where the hell where these guys when the sox were trying to win
  5. i really think they should just let ohtani hit and play of full time.
  6. that hitting mechanism of ohtani is pretty sick, just incredible precision how he gets the barrel through the zone with that timing
  7. i'm kind of sick of all these dh/1b types that aren't that good.
  8. Eloy now is approaching an OPS of 1000 split between AA and AAA. I'm not sure how you can claim keeping him down the rest of the year is the best thing for HIS development. It might make sense (might) 7 years from now (for the Sox) but I just don't see how anybody can think he has anything left to prove down there. All he's done is hit since he got here. He should be up as soon as the trade deadline passes and the Sox can reconfigure their 25 and 40 man -- imo of course.
  9. Seems like a lifetime ago for me personally. My dad was still alive, I was still living in working in NYC and I was still in my mid 20s with all that entails. I remember watching the final few outs on MLB.tv with a couple baseball fans at the office crowded around. Fun times. What an awesome day and moment for the Sox and us fans.
  10. Reylo has to find his changeup or make an adjustment to his fastball to increase the spin rate. If he doesn't he's just a 5th starter long term. I don't think you want to move him to the pen anytime soon, he'll have all of next year to keep working on it, but this year has been a bit of a reality check. He's basically pitching off a live arm and not much else. Glad I didn't spend 100 bucks to sit behind the dugout yesterday. Wouldn't have really had much to cheer about.
  11. he had a play the runners froze cause they figured the oaf would catch it.
  12. well thank god you're not in charge. this is not the data point to die on.
  13. eloy is hitting 342 with an OPS over 900 in AAA and we all arguing about petty shit. FFS I hope they call him up and he dominates. I'm all about service time but Eloy is a special talent. If he's ready he's ready. We could be looking at the next great WS player. Let the youngster get his feet wet and get that hunger even stronger. Ya'all wanna see a kid come up and go Torres style? Eloy could do just that, this August and September.
  14. Dylan Covey did not pitch to his baseball card. Avi elevated one. Team defense was outstanding overall capped by perhaps the defensive play of the year by Leury to rob Hanniger of a HR that could have changed the game in the 9th.
  15. and just lol at jose not on the bag...hustle dude.
  16. beautiful night here in seattle, was up in the mountains earlier a bit chilly up there but perfect at sea level, glad the sox always come here in middle or late summer, the games in april and may and sometimes june at safeco are usually pretty cold, damp affairs. I'm probably going to the game tmr if anybody wants to meet up.
  17. Lot of praise for Covey on the Mariner's radio broadcast, although to be fair this is the sort of stuff he's rarely flashed. Granted all us Sox fans are suprised he even flashes it.
