QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) Disgusting. Anyone claiming him should have their baseball charter canceled. Do the Dodgers need a catcher?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) Obama was giving the keynote speech, and they've cut back on total coverage since 2004. Maybe it's a good thing that they didn't cover the Puerto Rican speech, though, since some in the crowd began chanting "USA! USA!" when she started speaking. Did they broadcast Chris Christie's speech last night? Because a keynote speech is usually broadcast. That's why you give that speaker the Keynote, because that's one of the speeches that typically gets covered.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) Mia Love and Davis are the two I can recall, and I believe there were 2 or 3 others. (Just for reference, this is also the first time I've ever heard the name "Mia Love". Just googled out of interest to see who he/she was.)

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) There is a media blackout (pun.intended) of those speakers. Of course he doesnt know who they are And not because they're people no one has heard of anyway? One of them was a former Democratic Congressman, the other was a guy from Puerto Rico, and if I passed them in the hallway I wouldn't know who either of them was.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 01:16 PM) Mitt Romney holds a Tampa fundraiser on a Yacht. A Yacht which is apparently chartered in the Caymans. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/romney-party...ed#.UD5L89ZlQ7s Yawn. And George Clooney is holding Obama fundraisers in Switzerland or something like that.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) SPEAKING OF liberal bias, anyone see the Drudge links to how MSNBC and NBC didn't air any minority speakers at the RNC? Ya think that's just coincidence, or does that feed the "GOP is only full of racist white people" stereotype? Without looking, can you name any of them?

So, let's see, Septimo, Hudson, Morel, and a catcher seem like very likely callups, is there an OF callup whose spot TT is taking?
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 09:41 AM) I would lay 2:1 odds that it was staged by Democrats. Hmph. Whatever went down, apparently 2 people were expelled and the RNC issued a statement bordering on an apology, saying that the behavior was deplorable and would not be tolerated.

QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) Its not his velocity its his control. I asked about velocity out of concern that he'd be about in need of another skipped start.

What is Sales velocity like tonight?

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 06:33 PM) Maybe I should take a page from the Dem playbook. 'cheap' and 'say what you will' are coded acist comments and anti-religious meant to cast dispersions on Romney's religion. Who has said anything about Mitt Romney's religion in this campaign?

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) when someone like Matthews would s*** his pants if he had to agree with a conservative, ever. Do I need to go find the clip of him gushing over how manly Bush was in his "mission accomplished" flightsuit and codpiece back in 03?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Alan Colmes sucked, but Hannity sucks just as much. I'd say Anderson Cooper, the dude from Britain and Wolf Blitzer are all partisan. Not to the degree of Fox and MSNBC. But IMO, Fox has one annoying partisan - Hannity, and MSNBC has two - Matthews and Maddow. And Scarborough used to be conservative, until he found out that he could have his own show on a liberal network, so he became much more moderate. But he's hardly a "conservative" anymore. And again, great illustration of why I don't respect your guys complaints about the Liberal Media. Anyone who ever says anything that doesn't toe the party line doesn't get counted. Bill O'Reilly goes along with the Republican official talking point line an overwhelming majority of the time, but he doesn't get counted as a partisan. The entire Fox morning show basically repeats that day's RNC talking points, but they don't get counted as partisans. Gretchen Carlson spends almost all of her time backing up the Republican line, but gets angry when the guys go off into pure sexism, and that makes her count as the show's token liberal. The entire news division sets their coverage to follow that day's talking points, but that's not being partisan. Yet, Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, and Pierce Morgan (who worked for Newscorp in Britain and was probably involved in the phone hacking scandal) get counted as Democratic partisans. Anyone who follows the Republican line 95% of the time gets counted as a Democratic partisan because of that occasional straying. It's like me calling Daily Kos a republican site. It's nonsense.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) The actual NEWS isn't always biased, but when CNN and Fox News have half their shows as 'opinion shows', then yeah, the whole network gets a slanted view. I can tell you that I have seen liberal politicians get a fair shake on O'Reilly, but I think Chris Matthew's head would explode if he couldn't be a condescending arrogant ass to every conservative he comes across. The token liberal on FOx may BE Alan Colmbs, however you spell that, but the toke conservative is who? Some guy that is actually a registered Democrat? When forced to, the media will report on what makes it money. When not, they pick their favorites. 1. Alan Colmes is no longer on Fox and hasn't been there for years. 2. CNN really doesn't have a partisan anchor by the standard of Fox or MSNBC. 3. Chris Matthews is on MSNBC (can't tell if you had them crossed with CNN or not). 4. The token conservative on MSNBC would be Joe Scarborough, who happens to have his name on their entire morning show for 3 hours.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 10:11 AM) That's not even comparable. That's a franchise QB who led you to the Super Bowl and multiple playoff appearances who happened to finally get injured one year after a long career of playing every single week. All I'm saying is that $10 million in bonus money in a QB on the bench doesn't destroy your roster. It takes a lot more than $10 million in dead space to kill a roster. Is Flynn's $10 million all this season?
-
Dice-K? He's on waivers and we need an arm.

Wait, he's off the DL? -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 09:38 AM) On a QB who never plays a snap? Would you rather have spent that elsewhere? of course. But it's not like paying Peyton Manning $30 million to be on IR and having that decimate your roster.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 09:48 AM) "all-time" of 30 years doesn't seem like a lot. It's probably more like 120,000 years, but 30 is what we have had satellites for. There is a legitimate collapse happening in those icecaps.
