  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) He'll be someone else's problem next year, hopefully he gets hot for the rest of the year and boosts his trade value. He'll be with the Sox for one more year at least.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) The line really didn't get better. They shortened the drops to get the ball out of Cutlers hands quicker. Adding in Gabe Carimi and tarring and feathering Frank Omiyale is a huge, huge, huge line upgrade. That doesn't mean they don't have weaknesses...that just means Frank Omiyale was as bad of a lineman as any of us have ever seen.
  3. I'm impressed to see so many of you endorsing withdrawal from Afghanistan.
  4. Not surprising as he's been struggling for a while.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) O's get a few back. 5-2 now in the 2nd. 5-4 on a 2 out, 2 run double by JJ Hardy.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:55 PM) Cranial injuries seem to hone his focus, as it were. 10 days off probably helped a lot of aches too.
  7. I figured we'd get at least a solo HR today.
  8. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) RGIII struggling against a legit defense. That sack and forced fumble was beautiful... And what a juke by Bush on the TD run! Gosh, we look good. It's like a normal Bears game plan except + a passing game!
  9. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) They whored themselves out before Citizens United The rules were weak beforehand. They then went from weak to something worse than non-existent.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) Yep, no way in the world should they pick up Peavy and Youk's options. I'd much rather KW have some flexibility this offseason. They can be brought back, but neither one of them should hit the option prices. But blah.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) I can't wait to here Marty all offseason if we don't bring back Peavy/AJ/Youk (of course, the Angels aren't exactly taking off with Greinke, are they?)...how this was our last good chance because of the Tigers' dynasty, etc. And then Greg, instead of Ozzie topics, will be repeating how the Royals kept us out of the playoffs. Should be great fun. The only one that is a huge deal to bring back is AJ, as it stands now.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) He can't hit on the road this year. .182 avg. .278 OBP and a .578 OPS. His numbers are carried by a couple of really big HR's that he's hit for the ChiSox this year. His OBP and batting average aren't great even for the Sox, but he's nailed a couple HR that have been huge for us.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:25 PM) No way can you pick up Youk's option right now caulfield That's what I've been saying the whole time. You can't count on him to be a consistent threat if he's not spending a whole lot of time at DH/1b. He's better than Morel, as long as we're not paying for it.
  14. Nice to see Ozzie willing to keep his mouth shut after his players move away.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) AL Central continues to give him all sorts of trouble. I don't think that inning will hurt his ERA.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Apparently, we are weak against water. Thankfully the guy who misplayed that ball has a name that has nothing to do with water.
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 18, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Might be one of the dumbest innings I've ever seen before. Cubs/Marlins, Game 6, 2003, inning 8.
