  1. Zero of those in my catalogue.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Can we not just look at farm systems though? The goal is to find productive, cost-controlled players using the least amount of resources possible. How you achieve that is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. I agree with you. In that case though I'm trying to engage J4L solely on his standard, which is focused entirely on farm system production. That Cardinals system has, over the past 4 seasons, pretty much produced Colby Rasmus. Over the last decade, they've produced Rasmus, Wainright, Molina, and that's about it. When you go back to the year 2000 though...suddenly you hit that one thing from the 15th round. The Cardinals system has been weak forever, but as you note, they still win.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) No s***. How long before Humber is officially a "Coop Done Good" project? Or is he officially there already? No one's going to believe that he's suddenly found that first round pick talent for a season or two, but I'd say that getting this first 2.5 months out of him is a pretty excellent "Coop done good" project.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) any updates on Peavy, is his re-hab coming along? MRI scheduled monday to determine his rehab schedule.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) Oh my god Phillip. That curveball is just unfair. What you just said...repeat it.
  6. Tore the cover off that ball.
  7. Wonderful groove Philip.
  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) I think the negative posts comes from the fact that he is still so raw. He is undoubtedly an elite athlete, but contact skills are not easily developed. And poor contact rates (and high strikeout totals) only get exposed more at higher levels. There's nothing to me wrong with a guy who's a 150-ish strikeout a year person...if he's also adding 30 HR power and walking.
  9. Come on Alexei...get this tied up for Phil.
  10. Rios just got outgunned there, the ol climbing the ladder fastball.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 01:17 PM) I agree, but I also think Lilli should be spelling Gordo now and again, especially against good fastball pitchers. It should be easy to find Lilli 3-4 games per week you would think It seems like they're focusing the Stealth Elf in the OF right now since they have multiple IF backups.
  12. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Is Pierre's contract due this offseason? Looks like the dude has lost a few steps on the bases. With his atrocious bat and mediocre split, I rather have a platoon of Lillibridge and Tyler Kuhn at LF next season. Yes, Juan Pierre's contract ends after this season.
  13. Good quick recovery inning for Phil.
  14. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) Neither. Kila will finish out the season in Omaha (barring injury to Hosmer/Butler) and probably not be brought back next season. He's got no future with the organization. Somewhere, NSS just started drooling and he doesn't know why.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) If you want to talk about the recent history of the Cardinals, they have made the playoffs once in the last 4 years, same as the White Sox. In a s*** division, just like the White Sox. I think it's safe to say that the White Sox's farm system has outranked and outproduced the Cardinals farm system for the last 4-ish years.
  16. The Cardinals sorta have something of an ace in the hole...who's a free agent after this year.
  17. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) Dotel seems like more of an apt comparison for Crain. Pre-injury, probably works.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 10:18 PM) People don't forget the home runs he gave up to Cabrera and Suzuki to lose games for the team. He's been damn good otherwise, but people don't forget moments like those. Crain is who Crain is. He'll give up 4-5 games a year, but then he'll have games where he comes out and completely saves everyone's tail.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) Actually play Lilly 3 days in left and three in center. Dayan four in left. Playing Viciedo only 4 days a week in the field is foolish.
  20. I have no idea how that ball stayed in the park.
  21. THE STEALTH ELF STRIKES AGAIN!
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) You get the feeling that Ozzie will push Danks as far as he can into the 8th inning before he goes to a reliever. Around 100 pitches now. With D1 having retired 6 in a row now, yeah, D1 is going to start the 8th. 104 pitches so far.
