  1. A tanker carrying 65,000 tons of coal and 500,000 gallons of heavy oil fuel has run aground on the Great Barrier reef and is stranded currently. It is in danger of being broken apart by the waves.

  3. $68 million, 4 year extension for Beckett
  4. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) Ignore my AGon posts and a serious question. Is Cust the type of bat Walker can maybe tweak to lower the K rate or is he too far gone in his swinging tendancies that he is a lost cause? A high K power guy is who Jack Cust is.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) it's for top gun. The Navy doesn't even fly the 22. They'd fly the F-35.
  6. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) Apparently they wanted to do good by McNabb, so they gave him a list & let him pick from it. There's also the issue that other teams might have been unwilling to raise their bids if McNabb wouldn't sign an extension. I think Buffalo was in that boat.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 12:24 AM) I don't know what it is about ESPN broadcasts. Seems like every game comes close to or exceeds 4 hours. It's just how the Red Sox and Yankees play. Their pitchers don't work quickly and their hitters try to work the counts. Since they carry so many Red Sox and Yankee games, it just seems like it's ESPN's fault.
  8. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) Did you see the angle Swisher took on that Youkilis double? Haha Um, wasn't it a triple? (And wasn't it a triple because of the angle Swisher took?)
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) They need to get him some weapons first and foremost, and Santana Moss isn't exactly the greatest weapon in the world. McNabb wasn't exactly loaded with WR weapons most of his years in Philly except for 1 year with Owens and then last year. On the other hand though...the Redskins have a pretty deep backfield with Portis, Parker, and Johnson back there...although I'm not sure you can count on any of them 100% of the time.
  10. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) The reason people call the F-22 ridiculous is that the things are so grossly overpowered that they've made the very concept of fighter jets obsolete. Besides, those planes are not being made to kill any Iraqi's or Afghans. Is there actually anyone they're being made to kill who, you know, exists? As far as I can tell, they're designed to kill the pilots of the Soviet fighter 2 generations past the current set of MiG's.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) I guess you were wrong. I gotta know, what did he do? He was a previously suspended poster trying to subvert the rules by creating a new name.
  12. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 04:23 PM) I don't think the Bulls have enough cap space for two LeBrons unless there is some special provision for player clones or doppelgangers. Perhaps the second LeBron could feature a handlebar mustache. The only way the Bulls can get their hands on a 2nd Max deal this offseason would be to pair it with moving Deng or signs and trades involving their expiring deals (most of which won't total up to a max deal). Basically, the Bulls need to win a top 3 lottery pick to have something that would interest another team enough to make them willing to make that move.
  13. Gil Meche, Alex Gordon, and Josh Fields all go to the Dl to start the year. Betemit optioned to AAA. Mike Aviles made the team 12 months after Tommy John surgery.
  14. Cliff Lee to the Dl Scott Kazmir to the DL Chien Ming Wang to the DL Coco crisp to the Dl Jeff Francis to the DL Nick Johnson fouled a ball off his leg. 4 year, $18 milliion deal for Adam Lind Charlie Haeger is the dodgers 5th starter. Hank Blalock did not make the Rays roster and is again a FA.
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) I know it was 4 years ago, that's why I put 2006 in there. The team that won the series that year had 83 wins in what would have probably been considered the worst division. The "best division in baseball" doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's probably also worth considering that the quality of the bottom 2-3 teams in each division are going to affect how the records of the top 2 teams in each division come out. You could have 2 100 win teams in a division if the Pirates and the clones-of-the-Pirates were the bottom 2 teams.
  16. He plays for the Tigers and keeps helping them win ballgames. There's no reason to not dislike him. Except for the fact that his contract really hurts them. We can thank him for that.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) Andruw Jones was sporting an OPS of almost .900 through July last year. And then he had the injury problems (not sure exactly when they took place. I'm sure Kalapse can tell us). And the guys over at fangraphs have obviously chosen to ignore who our manager is. If they wanted a guy like Cust, they would've signed Thome. His first report of an injury was on about April 22nd of last year.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 01:13 AM) A quick thought after tonights game. Gibson is quickly developing into another Noah (rebounding machine with decent scoring) in 1/3 the time, but with less energy. The Bulls could have a 3-Headed Monster Front Court monster if they sign Bosh this offseason. Or...if Wade or Lebron winds up deciding to give the Bulls a visit...they can get scoring out of Rose and whoever they sign and rely on the front court to control the middle of the lane.
  19. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) I think if Ozzie was gonna ride Kotsay's hot hand and put him in the 3-hole, he'd do it right out of his blistering spring training. Maybe I'm wrong. Yeah...at this point, if he winds up in the 3 hole and the right guy is there to start the season...hopefully that means he's earned it. If he's hitting .330 in 2 weeks, I won't be that mad if he moves to the 3 hole, I promise.
