But based on raw talent alone, he was able to pound the offspeed stuff enough to put up quality numbers; 23 home runs and 67 RBI on a terrible team in 2/3 of a season. He clearly does need to improve against that pitch, and if he does not he will not last in the league...but that is again a mechanical issue, that may be correctable.

It's a good thing the Democrats listened to the Republicans' objections on the Stimulus bill and pulled out some of those egregious things like repairing the national mall and covering contraceptives while adding $20 billion or so in non-stimulating corporate tax breaks rather than spending additional money on things like rails. Otherwise, the vote might have been much less bipartisan.

Running tally of media appearances by members of Congress over the last few days to discuss the stimulus package. Go ahead...guess which party dominated the discussion. Now, guess which network was the closest to balanced. I'll bet you got 1 of those 2 right.
