  1. And great, he’s said clearly it’s ok to target his guys if they bat flip. Hope Tim doesn’t accidentally do that in a playoff game.
  2. Come back tomorrow night, hit 2 HR in the first inning, and fling those bats to the dugout. That’s how you respond.
  3. oh so Anderson was acceptable because the angle was below 42.7 degrees. Man these unwritten rules are specific, I had no idea.
  4. So you’re ok with Anderson getting hit every time he bat flips? no we aren’t. We like that. It’s fun. You want Contreras to drop his bat? PITCH BETTER. You cannot like Tim Anderson’s attitude and want the ball thrown at people because the bat flip was aggressive.
  5. They decided the best way to punish the Sox was him staying in the dugout?
  6. Still JMO, but I hate this crap now. You don’t want a guy to bat flip? Get him out. I guess we are ok with someone plunking Anderson in the helmet next time he hits one.
  7. He should have been played more this year because the 3rd OF has been so bad.
  8. Bars are open and we encourage you to go to bars. However, you have to be responsible and not go to bars. If you go to the bars I encourage you to go to go to, I will give you a stern lecture about personal responsibility for going to the bar that I told you to go to. How could you be so irresponsible as to go to the bar that I told you to go to? Shame on you.
  9. They can...if they have enough cap space for the cap hold. In order to maintain Bird rights to go over the cap signing Lauri, they have to have a certain amount of cap space locked up as a hold - that way you can't use that player's Bird rights to sign an outside free agent for the same money. It looks like For Lauri that will be about $16 million, give or take. So, in that case, you would need the full amount of the 2 max guys + $16 million. Giannis's contract, doing some googling, will require about $42 million. Davis is in the same range. The cap is currently at $109 million, so $80 milion for those guys + $16 million for Lauri Cap hold leaves $13 million available for the rest of the roster. LaVine at $29 million alone makes that impossible. You'd have to be down to White + whoever is drafted this year and that's about it.
  10. James McCann is a f***ing starter and will be paid like one and treated like one next year.
  11. You have literally all of baseball who would be interested in coaching this team. Tons of young talent. Under contract for years. Veteran leadership. Ownership who doesn't care if you curse at your own fanbase for no reason and won't fire you unless you shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue in New York. I don't even know who the hot coaching candidates would be in baseball but my god this would be the prime job.
  12. I'd love to see development from Lauri, but the fact that he's so close to FA might make him a guy who isn't a long term piece for the Bulls. If we see improved performance from him before whatever next year's trade deadline is under a coach who isn't the joke of the league, and we're thinking about max deals for people long-term, he's a guy we have no choice but to move, try to get another first round pick for him and send him to a team currently in better shape. If he does improve, you literally get to choose between a fair, middle of the market deal for Lauri, and cap space for max deals. If he doesn't improve, then he's got a couple years left before he washes out of the league.
  13. Kole Calhoun would be 2nd on this team in home runs.
  14. One of the things that defined 2019 was the lack of professionalism from the organization. You had Hahn outright lying to the fanbase the whole offseason so he could sell season tickets, you had Stone publicly complaining about the fans demanding more after years of mediocrity, and you had Renteria saying "F*** you" publicly when someone in the press dared to ask him how he incorporated any analytics into his decision making when it was relevant to what they were discussing at the time. They seem to be ok with this.
  15. The White Sox did not fire Ozzie Guillen. He quit. He literally quit. Mid-season while under contract he refused to continue coaching the White Sox. Seriously if you want to understand this, refuse to go into your job the next time you work unless you get a new contract from them.
  16. Then just call them by their own names. Saying that the White Sox need to fire GarPax is just annoying. At the worst you could say "Fire KenHahn just like the Bulls fired Garpax" and I could live with that.
  17. Why do you keep mentioning GarPax? They’re gone, thankfully.
  18. Impressively high on the nationwide trend list.
  19. I'm equally confused by people thinking Rodon has anything left in the tank.
  20. For next year, you're willing to pay him $5 mil or so in arbitration? If he stays healthy for like 3 weeks now, that's about all you can hope for from him. Let someone else pay him $1 million next year if he looks good the next couple weeks.
  21. Here's the preseason poll on wins/losses from smarch. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?/topic/109069-your-2020-season-expectations/&page=1
