QUOTE (Disco72 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 08:05 AM) So, our neighbor's dog was barking loudly until about 4am this morning. Does the nicely worded note from a "concerned neighbor" work? Or should I confront them directly? While the dog barking hasn't been a big issue before now, these are the "toublemaker" neighbors who are always doing this kind of thing (such as starting to shoot off fireworks at 1am, 2 hours after the rest of the neighborhood finished). In short, I want to make sure I say something the first time because it's likely to be a continuing issue since the dog is new to their house (I believe they have a new roommate). No, see if it happens again. If it's a new roommate, the dog likely kept the others up, too. Saying something after it happened only once seems sort of douche-y. I'm sure others will disagree profusely, but it might just be a one-time mistake.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) Well, I kind of predicted the outcome of last night's Breaking Bad episode a few weeks ago. I need to go rewatch that episode of S3 though to find out what was touched. I'm pretty sure it was the notebook. He asked if Gale could take over the cooking and Gale showed him his calculations.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 07:43 AM) It is really getting good I think it was definitely loaded. They WERE at a tense meeting with the cartel, and I don't think right then was the time to test Jesse. And I love Hank. He's just as cocky as he ever was, but it's now a more subdued "inner" cockiness. Surviving the hit and slowly regaining his ability to walk and such is probably exactly what he needed.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) Seriously, how the hell can anyone like Ozzie at this point? I'm so f***in tired of this guy. I wonder that all the time.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) I didnt take it personally considering I wasnt even in the conversation when the comments were made. I just got a chuckle out of the hypocrisy of your statement. Dont take that personally. Where's the hypocrisy?

Get out! Disabled list for the iron horse?!

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) I suppose its not as complex as something like "pro" wrestling but whatever floats your boat I guess. I haven't watched that in years either. Don't take it so personally.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) I don't, I think the only one I watched was parts of the first Survivor. Same here.

And by watching, you make that human garbage rich. I don't even find it entertaining.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) Yes. Yes. And yes. There are varying degrees of bad. Jersey Shore is at the furthest end.

I haven't, but I was considering ordering it.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) You hate change, don't you? Couldn't be any more obvious. Doesn't seem to understand player values either, judging by posts in other threads.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) Despite my saying the Sox aren't out of it, a few days ago when they were 5 back with 5+ weeks to play... history was still against them, they had maybe a 10% chance. Now they are 7 back with less than 5 weeks to play, so now we're probably 5% or less. Pitchers having major reconstructive surgeries, this is a pattern that has repeated itself many times. Is it a guarantee? No. But I feel one heck of a lot more confident in Peavy getting back close to form, than I do the Sox winning the division. I can definitely agree with your last sentiment.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) Also, I think the discussions about Peavy on this board have been psychotic. Seems most people either thought he'd come back and be JFP, or would never come back to form and was basically done. Seemed obvious to me that what happened is what should have been expected. Like any pitcher after major surgery, first year back is basically just getting your arm back, and pitching mediocre. It is the 2nd season after, when they usually get their form back. Look for Peavy to be back to, or nearly, the JFP we traded for, in 2012. And yes you can quote me on that. I'll be waiting for that the same way I'm waiting for the Sox to make that comeback everyone's been talking about all season.

I've watched it, I think twice actually. I still think it's trash abd have no desire to see it again. If they do an episode where they all die slowly of AIDS or something, I'd tune right in.
-
I thought the Sox had control of Humber for a few years if they wanted? If he's just going to walk after resurrecting his career/potential here, I say pitch him until his arm falls off. Save the guys who WILL be with us next season.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 06:28 AM) I posted a few of the trailers earlier this year, I was really looking forward to it. It looks pretty good. There is already talk of an english version of that movie OK, so it was you who got me interested in seeing it. It was queued up for a while, so I forgot if Netflix was suggesting it or if someone told me about it. I saw Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark last night. I thought it was really good, and that's coming from a guy who thinks horror movies are generally garbage. It had the proper buildup and didn't rely on shock moments. Del Toro held up his reputation with this one, I'd say. The guys I saw it with seemed to like it as well, specifically referring to it as original in the sense of scary movies you see now.

I just watched Trollhunter. It's in the mold of The Blair Witch Project/Cloverfield, but I think it was better than both. Anyone ever see it?

QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) and I hope he's wrong about Reinsdorf's son taking over too. dealing with dear ol' dad for almost 30 years is enough just sell the team and ride into the sunset For the love of God, give it up.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) I can see why full circle for JT. Yes, it's actually quite simple. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) If Peavy really wants to prove himself he can sign back with us for f***ing peanuts to pay us back for the robbery he has committed for a few years. A-f***ing-men. With all of the BS he spews, you would think that it's something he would do, too. But I bet he doesn't.

Great news. As much as it must suck for him to STILL have no chance at a title, at least the Indians are a nice bookend to his career.
-
Seems pretty obvious to me that it's a joke, and I hope it is.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 11:22 AM) Chairman Reinsdorf made Hahn the highest paid assistant G.M. in baseball. You have to believe Hahn would give him right of first refusal even though he has an out in his contract for the Cubs. I may be completely off base and I realize his title actually IS chairman, but do you constantly refer to him as Chairman Reinsdorf in order to equate him with the likes of Mao Zedong or something?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) Maybe, you dont know that as the market dictates the value and pretty much only 2 teams needed a RH slugger the deadline whereas in the offseason many more teams will be interested. I'm more inclined to agree with bucket, but a good month of September can really raise his value.
