QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Nah, the blackout game by far exceed that. Well, I did say "for me".

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) I've already cut my game total down quite a bit this season. If Ozzie and Kenny are both back next year, it will be cut to 0. If Ozzie is back, I'll have a hard time rationalizing going even if Kenny is fired. If Kenny is back and Ozzie is gone, I'll still be very unhappy with our GM, but can at least go back to not being angry at my team personally, so I could probably rationalize going to several games next season. Hopefully, they're both gone. It'd be refreshing as a fan. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) I no longer plan on seeing a game in person until Ozzie is gone. Exactly the same here.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:22 AM) That was great

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 07:36 AM) Absolutely. It was really well done. I really don't think that 3D adds much to any movie (other than Avatar). I'm pretty sure I read that Transformers 3 was supposed to have the best 3D since Avatar, and I noticed only one part of the movie where it seemingly added to the experience. I believe it's just an old fad that's returning for a short time, and then it will fade back into oblivion.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:03 AM) St. Louis says hi. I don't think their falloff was nearly as bad. But this is just going to lead to an argument over semantics. The point is that the falloff was bad, and it's not very common.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) Likewise. I loathe that family. I wouldn't hate Ozzie if it weren't for his kids, namely Oney. But I do. "Hate" isn't even a strong enough word for what I feel towards Oney. As I said before, there is nothing that could befall him that would cause me to feel bad.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 06:30 AM) Who cares if the pitching staff is "pennant winning" when the team is mis-managed? Dunn and Rios don't HAVE to play. KW said the players that give the team the best chance to win will play. Ozzie didn't listen. Rios is still being trotted out there. And why would you say SS has been horrible? Alexei has actually been pretty good. And not to defend Beckham's lackluster offense, but having him and Alexei in the middle infield gives the team the best chance to win. It is like arguing with a brick wall with graffiti in broken sentences and bad grammar on it. I don't know why people continue to respond.

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) I've really had it with the Guillen family at this point and his son, who is starting to remind me of Saddam Hussein's evil spawn who also lived off Daddy. Geez, Teahen's wife is not bad-looking at all by any stretch but even if she were when you take a shot at a man's wife--a man that worked for Daddy--you deserve to get your ass kicked. In a functional family, that ass-kicking would come from Ozzie himself but apparently there's no consequences in that household. I thought the Bobby Jenks thing was bad enough--this is even worth. Now the Guillens are embarrassing the White Sox organization. Do you think something like this would be tolerated by any other MLB club? Get rid of them. I've actually thought the same thing. And no, I seriously don't believe any other franchise would allow someone to run as wild as Ozzie and his family do here. The day Ozzie is fired will be the happiest for me as a fan since we won it all. No exaggeration.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) It's actually pretty wild that the Sox have only made the playoffs once in a weak division since they won the World Series. Their falloff was pretty unprecedented. I'm not sure the Marlins (who intentionally dismantled their teams after two World Series) even went from being the champion to a joke within two years. I still can't believe that happened.

How bad is Alex Rios on the suck-o-meter?
Milkman delivers replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (since56 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) I can live with a guy who gives 100% [Juan Pierre] but just can't get it done. Rios is some kind of prima dona who should be tarred & feathered and walked through the south side on his way out of town! And if you want proof that the Sox fanbase (at least on Soxtalk) is relatively fair, notice how little you see Pierre "savaged" now that he's been playing better. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) If he was really talking about Oney here, I have no doubt that Mark asked to leave. I have no evidence, other than the tweet. Its a gut feeling. And if a guy with the reputation of Teahen asks to leave, there is a problem in that clubhouse. Clubhouse problems fall on the manager, whether or not you want to admit that he's the cause of the problem.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 06:29 AM) 24,000 for the Yankees .......................fans are sick of tiered pricing, high parking and s*** product on the field. I salute Sox fans for having balls unlike sheep at Wrigley. I applaud this post. Sox fans do not get the credit they deserve. Most look down on them for "not supporting" their team. It's quite the opposite. We have shown that we will support the team if the product is worth supporting. If it's not, we precipitate change with our wallets.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) If they hated being on the Sox and Ozzie Guillen as much as is being said here, why wouldn't Carlos Quentin or Matt Thornton, or anyone else who has been in the rumor mill, have gone to Kenny and told him to trade them? He obviously wanted to, but couldn't. If they had asked him, it would have been much easier to do. I have no doubt that some individuals don't like the Ozzie Guillen experience, and they seem to get shipped out pretty quickly. If it really were at pandemic levels, guys would have been begging to go, not asking to stay. It sounds like you're suggesting that Teahen is one of those guys. Is that the case?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 04:10 AM) Stop expecting. If anything happens to him (which it won't) it will be in the off-season. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 06:26 AM) Maybe not then. Both so true that it sends shivers down my spine.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 11:31 PM) This is a good point. Garland is a great example. Generally, I don't question athlete's desire. For all we know, Rios is crying himself to sleep right now while Dunn's smoking a blunt wrapped in a $100 bill. As I said earlier, they both suck. They're both going to handcuff this organization for years. It's a shame. Very true, unfortunately.
-
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) I'm not specifically talking about the board, but the overall attitude of the fan base. I never specifically called anybody racist, but am wondering aloud. Why is it okay for Dunn to be one of the worst hitters in over 100 years, but not Rios? For the same reasons that people hated Vazquez and Garland. They give off the persona of someone who just doesn't give a flying f***, that they're collecting their paychecks and phoning the rest in.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 11:15 PM) Maybe you liked Uribe because he was a damn good player that played hard, was excellent defensively and was incredibly clutch? If you don't think Crede and Rowand get more love than Dye and Uribe then you need to get off the computer for a bit and check out real life. Thomas was boo'd throughout his career. Belle was boo'd and called a bust despite kicking ass in a Sox uniform. Contreras passion and brain were questioned his whole time he was with the Sox. I just don't understand why Rios is a bum/dog despite playing better, albeit ever so slightly, than Dunn and actually playing in the field. For some reason people are real selective about who they call a bum/dog. That AJ, boy he plays hard, even though the next time he runs out a pop up will be the first. I really don't get it. Rios and Lilly both dog a play in the same game. Lilly's actually costs the winning run. Yet, Rios is the bum and Lilly, well he's a cute little guy. They say the same things about a lot of white players. You're just pretending or "seeing" only what you want. Tons of people thought Thome was a bum and couldn't wait to get him out of town. Floyd and Garland both have/had their passion and brains questioned constantly. Thomas was booed by a select few because he was perceived as a jerk due to his relationship with the media. AJ is booed in absolutely every city in which he plays for very similar reasons. I'll buy that Crede got more love than Uribe did (due mainly to his offense carrying the Sox down the stretch in 2005), but Rowand only gets more love from those fools that bought into grinderball wholesale. The vast majority of Sox fans know and admit that Dye contributed much more to this team. But yep, we're all racists. Even J4L says otherwise, and I'm guessing he'd be a little more of an authority on it.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) I go on very rare occasions to see the team in person and hang out with friends because I can't totally quit it (and I only go if the tickets are GREATLY discounted or free for me). But, that's about it. The last few years before this, I was in the 10 to 12 game range in person. I'm not going to be at half that this year. Just not worth the time or money. I'll watch it on tv since I'm a fan just as much as I always do, but I can't go as much as usual based on principle right now. I can't support this manager or GM like that. I'm pretty much in the same boat, except I won't go at all unless the tickets are free and that I usually go to a minimum of 10 to 12 a year.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 10:46 PM) It kind of makes you wonder. We are the same fan base that boo'd Frank Thomas, called Albert Belle a bust, embraced Crede over Uribe and Rowand over Dye, called Jose Contreras a bum etc... I'm just saying... The thing that I find funny is that Dunn doesn't even have a chance to play hard. He goes up, swings at bad pitches and sits on the bench. Pitchers run more than Adam Dunn. I'm not saying Rios isn't dogging it. I really don't know how much he cares. He doesn't say anything when he's going good or bad. It reminds me of that Jay Mohr skit about Boston fans. "That Antoine Walker... He does it all. He rebounds. He shoots threes." Then they get rid of Walker. "That Antoine Walker... All he did was shoot threes. He's a bum." When Rios is going good people say he's smooth and makes everything look effortless. Then he sucks and people say he's dogging it. The bottom line is they both suck. They're both costing us games. They're both going to handcuff us for a while. Yes, if you're a moron. Those are ridiculous generalizations that you're making. I'll especially disagree with that Crede/Uribe and Rowand/Dye crap. I couldn't f***ing stand Crede and I liked Uribe for some reason. I thought Rowand was a complete boner and steroid abuser while I considered Dye one of the most consistent hitters in baseball during his tenure with the Sox. And I know a lot of people that thought the exact same way.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) So, we didn't score 3 runs. Go f***ing figure. This team is a laughing stock. If Ozzie and Kenny are back next year, I boycott this team. I'm already boycotting them.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) You know will finish 81-81. The worst possible scenario coming into the season. Will hear Hawk, Ranger, Rongey, Ozzie and KW spit something like "You know, we got career-worst seasons from so many guys and still finished .500. That's a positive. Let's do this thing again next year!" This is seriously like the 7th or 8th post in this thread that I read and thought "I said this exact same thing a few months ago".

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) Do you blame me?! Not in the least. I just remember you as being one of the ultra-optimistic posters only a few weeks ago

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) The only thing Kenny did worse than assembling this team is deciding not to dismantle it! You've really done a 180 in the last week or so, huh?
