LBJ had Kennedy killed, believed Jackie
Milkman delivers replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Filibuster
You don't have to be evil, the devil incarnate, or possess the desire to punch babies to be a bad person. Cheaters are bad people, not weak. That's just a useful cop out. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 04:13 AM) Who the hell is God Loves the Infantry? FlySox? Sounds like FlySox. Yes and cheating is despicable and wrong. What it doesn't do is make someone a bad person, it means they either had an extreme moment of weakness or need to just not be in relationships. And yes, some of us do have honor and some don't. But like everything, the variable is who gets to judge honor. Um, yes it does make someone a bad person. When people say things like that, it makes me sick to think of the lack of morals in today's society. -
Worms. I'm not scared per se, they just gross me out. I hate how they feel and I especially hate the sound/feel of stepping on one. Goosebumps.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Bulls***, it was 100% Thornton. That is exactly something he would say. He threatened players the same way at Grand Valley. That's surprising to me. I don't doubt what you say, I just didn't think Thornton had that type of personality. I thought he was kind of a p****.

Santos or Sale? I don't see Thornton saying it.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Simpsons travel to Australia because of Bart's lost distance, phone-call shenanigans The short stories episode (Smithers stung by bee, Tall man chases Nelson for laughing at him, etc.) Jay Sherman visits The Simpsons for their Springfield Film Festival Homer crying while saluting the patriotic toilet while singing the national anthem was hilarious. I can't remember the episode, but Snake gets nacho cheese in his eyes and says, "AH! That's muy picante." -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 09:18 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/military-killed-tali...-132740655.html The sad part is that, I bet, even the Taliban is sitting there and thinking that it was worth it to take out that many (elite) American forces. -

QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Homer Badman tops my list, where Homer is accused of sexually harrassing a feminist grad student. What a fantastic show The Simpsons was. There may be some great episodes from the last 10 years but it's too hard to sift through the lousy ones that sully the good name of the series. Not that I blame them for raking in the money and continuing it. That's probably my third favorite. "See you in hell, CANDY BOYS!" -
The first one to pop out to me was The Hangover Part II. Definitely didn't need to be made, and certainly didn't need to be as unfunny as it was.

Sports Show with Norm Macdonald.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Yeah, we have argued it before. It killed it for me. I hated it at first, too. But then I grew to like it. Chase had a nice quote about the finale, saying something along the lines of, "Would you have been happier to see Tony face down in a bowl of spaghetti?" This first implied to me that he was saying Tony died, but I also agree that seeing him die might have actually been sort of anticlimactic in and of itself, oddly enough.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 12:31 PM) I am going for shows that when they were in their initial runs, you had to see them. Sopranos would have been #2 on my list, at least until the ending. The ending to the Sopranos was actually incredibly well-done in retrospect. You have to look into it somewhat, but it's all there. I've actually explained this before in the TV thread.

QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Jesus...they "screwed" you by having one of them get cancer and being forced to cancel? They didn't pull a Kings of Leon or Guns n' Roses... They didn't owe you s*** haha They promised to get a somewhat equal replacement for the investment many paid to see the Beastie Boys. Their choice was the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In no dimension are they even close.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) My top 10 in no particular order (several mentioned already) -Homer the Great (Stonecutters) -Homer vs the 18th Ammendment (Beer Baron) -Homer at the Bat (softball) -The Cartridge Family (NRA) -Simpson Tide (Homer in the naval reserve) -King Size Homer (the one where Homer gains weight to get on disability) -Homer and Apu (Homer gets Apu fired) -Treehouse of Horror V (The Shining parody and the dimension-shifting toaster are awesome, could do without the cafeteria one) -A Star is Burns (film festival) -Trash of the Titans (the garbage man can!) Honorable Mention- Hungy, Hungry Homer (Albuquerque Isotopes, made more awesome by the fact that it's an actual team because of this episode) I was saying boo-urns. I agree with Snrub. -

Last Exit to Springfield didn't sound familiar to me, until I remembered: Dental plan. Lisa needs braces. -

That's fair, and I appreciate the time you took to explain it. -
QUOTE (SnB @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) top 10 episodes: http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle6988097.ece http://www.watch-simpsons-online.net/ you're welcome Damn it! I just started a thread on this.
-
I got this idea from the thread started by SS2k5. I figured we could use it to remind each other of great episodes we may have forgotten and, most importantly, remember some of the greatest quotes in the series' history. There is a tie for my favorite episode. They are: -You Only Move Twice (Hank Scorpio is the best one-time character in this, or any, show's history) -Homer at the Bat (an easy one I assume most people would have in their top 5 or 10)

New thread idea.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) Hah, you two are something else... Can you go into a little more detail than that? I mean, I said my opinion and laid out my reasoning pretty clearly. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 05:12 PM) They screwed you? You're paying for the festival, not just an act. You'd be getting screwed if it was the Beastie Boys festival that was all of a sudden headlined by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. You also easily could've sold it. Yeah, that was their theory and reasoning for not providing a refund. But in reality, I imagine a great number of the people who purchased tickets did so in order to see the Beastie Boys (I know I did a lot of searching on internet boards and saw many, many other people that were just as angry), with the rest just being a little added bonus. I did sell the tickets. Lost money on it, of course.

QUOTE (The Sir @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 05:29 PM) She had retaliatory affairs? What classy behavior for the "First Lady". There was nothing honorable or presidential in how JFK behaved in his marriage, but his philandering does not excuse Jackie doing the same thing. I've been cheated on before. I didn't use that as a justification to cheat on either that person or future girlfriends. I confronted them and ended the relationship. That's the honorable thing to do. But people who cheat on their lovers simply because their lovers cheated on them are scum. Cowardly scum. Just lost a lot of respect for Jackie O. And the fact that she seems to just be a gold digger. William Holden, Onassis, and the guy who owned Fiat? I never particularly respected Jackie O the way everyone else seemed to, and that was based almost exclusively on the fact that she married one of the world's wealthiest men after all of that crap. Billions of people on Earth to fall in love with, and hers just happen to be the future President (and American "royalty") and then an absurdly rich shipping baron? I don't buy it. Adding in Holden and the Fiat guy just cements it to me.
