Did others not enjoy Goldmember? I know it was the worst of the three Austin Powers movies, but I still found it funny.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 06:11 AM) The renewal to finish Breaking Bad is for 16 more episodes after this season but they don't know how or when it will air. Last night taught me to set the DVR for an extra 15 minutes. Stopped when Hank was going through the stuff again. Anything happen in that last scene?

Why does Ozzie motivate opponents more than SOX?

QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 14, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) I don't see how you can be motivated for baseball like that Its not like you can pitch faster.. its not like you can hit the ball further all of the sudden because someone slighted you.. I just don't see the actual game of baseball being one of those bulletin board material games.. Anyone agree with this? Certainly on defense and running the bases. -
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) Cowley got in Soxtalk's grill a little bit and since then no one likes him. Weird stuff. What are you even talking about?
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) The Cubs are supposedly calling his bluff. You can't make this stuff up, too funny. Either way, there are 18 million reasons why he doesn't retire. I didn't realize how bad he has gotten, first time with an ERA over 4. Way to throw at a hall of famer just cause you gave up 5 home runs. At least this will keep people from talking about Bruce f***ing Chen in Chicago Who is the hall of famer he threw at?

Were we just referred to as scared cows? But seriously, there will be some major changes in the offseason in the front office and management. And that makes me very happy.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 04:28 AM) The last 2 posts make me laugh so hard that im going to sleep. Its so serious that i can barely even take half the posters on this board seriously anymore. I guess ill go cry myself to sleep about how Soxtalk used to be a forum for those who understood baseball, but now its just a breeding ground for ridiculousness. Sorry folks but the facts are the facts. It seems hyperbole works both ways.

Is it even possible for Dunn to bat .200 by the end of the season? Does anyone know how he'd have to perform to reach that?

QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) LMAO...greatest post I've read anywhere all week!!!! It really was a great one. Funniest post I've seen in some time.

However you need to justify it. Apparently we have much different sets of morals. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) Well you obviously just have your moral compass dialed-in super tight on this particular issue, because honestly, on here, you come off as a guy who doesn't give a flying f*** whether you hurt someone or not. I've learned to understand your particular brand of humor, but you don't strike me as someone who is all that concerned about other's feelings. And just as a disclaimer, I have honestly never cheated on any woman I was in an exclusive relationship with. I have been cheated on myself. I got over it, just like I get over all the other evil s*** human beings do to one another on a daily basis. Some people, my guess is those who have been cheated on, seem to be extraordinarily sensitive in regards to this. As far as I know, it's never happened to me But I think there's a large difference between arguing varying sports viewpoints on a message board/occasionally telling someone that they are morons and cheating on someone. -
Oh great, does Dunn now become the lone scapegoat for this season, thus allowing the team to make no changes because "all they need is for him to hit closer to his normal numbers next year"?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) I think it was Danks who threatened Bautista. He and Bautista barked back and forth a bit earlier this year. I thought they said it was a reliever.

It's a shame that they took so long to bring some focus back onto the tag team division. They've had some pretty great tag teams over the last few years that just went to waste. -
QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) The Candiru. Also known as the reason I will never go swimming in the Amazon. Holy f***. You couldn't pay me enough money to go swimming in the Amazon. It sounds like it's just suicide no matter what you do.

QUOTE (juddling @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) Tomorrow is a big day as my wife and I take our first born off to college for her freshman year. I guess it's just starting to hit me. Ugh...maybe i would have been better off having boys. All i can think of now is that old saying "If you have a boy you just have to worry about one penis...if you have a girl you have to worry about them all!!" Good. Good.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 10:13 AM) ugh. we've all been cheated on, most of us have cheated. do any of you feel MLK jr was a bad person? even if he did act rather lasciviously with women? can any of you honestly say that? the two ARE NOT mutually exclusive. you can be a great man, a great leader, a great hero, accomplish great things, and still have a vice. all of us do. none of us is perfect. Really? Is that how the mind of a cheater works? Because I assure you, I have never cheated on a person even a little. If you're talking about a board game, then yes, I've cheated. If it's something for money, I never cheat. I don't cheat when another person can be hurt by it. If it's just a fun game of checkers and the other person isn't paying attention, I may make an illegal move. It's really not hard to not cheat. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) No, it's really not. You've just never thought of it any other way. You're saying it is a simple concept to just pronounce JFK or Jackie Kennedy (as well as anyone else that has ever cheated on someone) a "bad person"? Yes, dude. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that. Anyone who intentionally hurts another person, whether or not they claim they're "ignorant" to the results, is a bad person. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Oh yeah MilkmanDoesn'tDeliver? Perfect example, except I think you have to insert the word "suck" in there.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Because you are harming another person. If you don't want to commit to one person and would like to be with 5, 10, 20, whatever, you're certainly free to do so. But don't enter a relationship with someone with the implicit idea being that you're going to be faithful if you're not going to be. This. And I don't know why it needs to be more philosophical. It's a simple concept. -
I just realized I forgot Deadwood.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 11:37 AM) Remember the "Houston we have a problem" signs Sox fans were sporting during the World Series? I seriously wanted to hurt myself. I don't know. That's pretty creative, although outdated and I'm sure it's been used before.

After seeing Arachnophobia, I am sometimes still wary of sitting on a toilet without a cursory glance in it. Also, this thread reminds me of that song Spiders And Snakes by Jim Stafford. You older guys may remember it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) Haha, it just reminds me of those terrible derogatory nicknames you see on message boards. Things like White Sux.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) I hate grey area definitions. I think I'm trying to convey the message that my idea of a bad person is they knowingly want to cause harm to others. Some cheaters do that, true, so f*** them. Others are just selfish morons, but I don't think the intent was to harm so much as to get some, and they are just too idiotic to think about who it hurts. I don't think there's much grey area to it. If you cheat, you're a bad person. I don't believe anyone is actually stupid enough to not know that cheating will directly hurt someone.
