QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 09:50 AM) Roy Halladay with his 8th CG this year... wow That guy is the definition of ace. I can't be more specific than that.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 08:02 AM) Sorry you had a bad time, dude. I don't like the Allman Brothers, so I didn't want to say anything before you went. Did the Allman Brothers' hardcore fans seem to enjoy the show? I saw Blues Traveler once, and it was the same thing - a ton of "noodling" turning 4 minute songs into 14 minute snoozefests. I hate that crap. It actually seemed like more people were there for the opening act, Bob Weir and RatDog. And yes, they seemed to like it. Mostly to do with what Leonard said. It was awful, though. They played Melissa and Whipping Post. That was it.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) Going to see the Allman Brothers tomorrow. This was, by far, the worst concert I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. During a 3-hour set, they played (and I'm not exaggerating) 8-10 songs. Only two of them were relatively popular songs. f*** this band, that's all I have to say.

QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) If I do, you'll probably be asked to do bios of them. Ha, given enough time, I'd do them.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 16, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) I always thought the crazy skinnier guy who wasnt shaved bald looked like the old WCW wrestler Crowbar. I agree they never got a fair shake, after a lot of work to put them out there. I think a problem WWE has with a lot of wrestlers and tag teams is that they create these stories for them and paint themselves into a corner in regards to expanding the storyline or characters. Once the story has run its course, there really isnt that much to do with the character/team so they let them fade into nothing. I cant see those two guys wanting to be the Scots pretending to be William Wallace-era warriors forever, it just wears thin. Who were they going to have a promo with? Cade and Murdoch? Maybe. London and Kendrick were just blah, even though they were fun to watch. They could have possibly done something with an english team(Burchill and Regal?), but WWE fans probably wouldnt even pick up on what the storyline was. Hopefully they can repackage themselves and come back sometime. I actually enjoyed watching them wrestle. How many times has Stevie Richards been let go by WWE? edit: I never read the story about Robbie going to the TNA tapings the week before Wrestlemania and being seen on camera, and losing his $5000 wrestlemania paycheck. What a dumbass I liked them, too. I thought they were pretty solid wrestlers. On the TNA thing, that was a bush league move by TNA showing him in some desperate attempt to make themselves seem more legitimate by f***ing over some mid-carder. -

I don't understand how someone can root against their country. I can see rooting for the country of your ancestors, but not when they're going against your own country. I mean, Serbia? C'mon. I understand patriotism and all, but you're American. Go live in Serbia for an extended period of time and see if you think it's still so great. -

QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 06:58 PM) The ax fell again at Titan Tower. Gone are: Big Stevie Cool, Stevie Richards Colin Delaney Both of The Highlanders Cherry and some ref named Wes Adams. Those guys really never got a chance. They had a nice build-up to their entrance to the WWE with all the promos, but then they never did a damn thing with them. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) I remember his buds and teamates names were Gagen,Popp, and Efrain. But I dont think I can remember his. I know them all.

QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) I cant remember his name but if I heard it I would know it.He looked kinda slow in his face,he had big ears brownish reddish hair. This was almost fifteen years ago so its hard to remember but his name is at the tip of my toungue. If the name comes to you, let me know. I'm pretty interested in figuring out who this is. Whoever it is seems to be a few years older than me, but I bet I know him, anyway.

Half Irish, a quarter Italian, and a quarter German. The most offensive way I can put it is that I'm a McNaziWop.

QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 07:39 AM) 1995.It wasnt you was it?lol Ha, no, but I bet I know the person who did it. Any chance you remember the name? Or a physical description.

Ahh, again I'm honored to have voted the highest for this man, despite being in the terrible company of B>W. Knight, is there any way you can tell me who I voted #2 and #3? It has slipped my mind.

I'm honored to have voted the highest for him.

I didn't get to see any of this game, but it looks pretty perfect. Now, we need to take the series against Oakland.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) On a much lighter note, who the hell unpinned this thread. Someone keeps doing it. I'd like to know who and why. I assume it's a joke. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Today I was just thinking back to 7th grade when I got my face punched in.It was during a basketball game for my school,we were playing St.Gabriel and I was standing at the free throw line. This meathead goone said I was chewing my gum like a horse and I said it was from his mothers mouth. It didnt go over so well with him so as we are running back to the other end of the court he punches me on the right side of my face.It was totally a cheap shot but by judging how hard the punch was and the damage it did it wouldnt have made any difference if we were looking at each other face to face.I turned back around and he was gone with both team benches laughing hysterically at what happened. My right eye and cheek swelled up to were it looked like I was growing another head.I stayed in the game and had to swallow my pride the rest of the way.I still hold some hatred towards the douche,I gotta say.But if I seen him I would probably run because my cheek bone still hurts to this day if I press on it.I hope you guys have some funny stories. Ha, I went there. When was this?

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Back to Chicago, anyone use the word 'front room' to describe the living room?...and the pronunciation sounds like 'french room'? It's more like "frunch room." Also, I've never heard anyone say "Da" as an article in my life, unless they were just doing the skit from SNL.

Hey! Hey! Anyone going to be in there? Eh?!

QUOTE (BearSox @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) I don't care what anyone says, IMO, Javy is our 2nd best pitcher. Before I'd say he is our best, but that title goes to Danks now. That statement has nothing to fall back on.
-
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) I was wrong about Vazquez....I thought he was going to dominate and turns out he is Jon Garland revisted. Except Jon Garland actually pitched well in a season that we were competitive. He was also a huge factor in the White Sox winning the World Series, whereas Vazquez cannot take the slightest amount of pressure.
-
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 12:40 PM) I thought the 4 & 5 guys in the rotation would be absolute garbage. Ha, well you might actually have been right on that one. Perhaps you just had the names of those two pitchers wrong.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) Linebrink's out until at least September now. Wow, and he's signed to a 4-year deal. He's seemingly been hurt forever.
