  1. Like everyone said, 3 of 4 is what we need. Anything else is just gravy.
  2. I'm beginning to think we'll go all out to try to acquire Crawford this offseason.
  3. What a game. Walkoff homer by Russ Martin in the 10th. Final score, 1-0.
  4. The Reds, though I'd like to see the Rockies make it.
  5. Um, what ever happened with Jeff Nelson? I know he went on the DL and that he'll never pitch for us again, but shouldn't he have been DFA'd or something like that?
  6. Is it actually possible for Garcia to pitch well down the stretch? He's done it recently, and it'd be gigantic if he could keep it going. Nicely managed game by Ozzie.
  7. Did Uribe screw up the DP ball, or did PK just come off the bag? I decided to listen on the radio while in the pool, and Farmer made it sound like it was PK's fault.
  8. Um, hasn't he hit much better than he did with Pittsburgh? But I agree, our bench is pretty stacked.
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) FEARS Remember, he did end his perfect record at WM 6! If Hennig was untalented and a friend of Hulk Hogan, he could've been a much more popular wrestler.
  10. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) but what about Juan? That's still a long range to the right. I agree that Uribe would've had a better chance, but it would've been an extremely tough throw. It probably would've had to have been a perfect laser right to PK, and Uribe has a tendency to bounce them in there.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) MM.. I am in no mood to measure pp's today. I just disagree with your opinion. EOS. Well, I'm only trying to have a little debate here, not measuring pp's. Don't know what MM or EOS mean.
  12. In no way am I saying that Fisk wasn't great. He was one of the best catchers in the history of the game. I'm just saying that being a White Sox great isn't recognized like being a Red Sox great.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Your opinion, which I think is BS, but you're entitled to it. How many White Sox greats get the national attention that Fisk does?
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) Oye... getting a nod cause he played for Boston. Thank you for the material. He should get a good laugh out of that one. If Fisk hadn't played for Boston, he'd just be another White Sox HOFer that nobody outside of Chicago really considers one of the greats. Since he played for the Red Sox, he gets mentioned in the same breath as guys like Bench and Berra. If he played only for Chicago, he'd be in the same group as Appling, Fox, and hopefully Baines. Guys that were some of the greats, but don't get much national credit.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) Javy worked out of a jam last night in the first when Alex couldn't handle Jeter's ground ball that was ridiculously ruled a base hit and not an error. Granted, it didn't lead to a run, but that was thanks to Javy. But I do have to agree with you in terms of subs, I feel that Cintron is far more competent at short than Mack is in center. Not even close. Jeter is pretty fast. Had Cintron actually come up with that ball, Jeter probably still would've beaten it out considering how far Alex had to go to his right.
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) I disagree, but to each his own. Either way, you saying that he was "a step from 1st base when the ball got to Konerko" is false. Exaggeration, oh well. As CC said, there's no way he gets Molina out if he doesn't do exactly what he did. EDIT: After watching the video that CC posted, Molina was about 2 to 3 steps when the ball got there. I don't care how slow Molina is, he'd have to be physically disabled to not make it to 1st if Iguchi fell on his face and then got up to throw it.
  17. Let's just say this. I don't want Thome batting in the 9th with or without a runner on base in a close (2-3 runs) game. I love having him bat at any other point, though.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) A certain cane of questionable craftsmanship might have something to do with that. PFC takes no credit for the fortunate turn of events of late...but some still believe there's a greater power at work than the team on the field.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) So what, does he have really long legs and a gigantic step or something? He was much more than a step away from the base. Unless Molina literally uses a walker (yes, he's very slow, haha), Iguchi had no choice but to throw when he did. If he waited until he hit the ground, then got to his knees and threw it, Molina would've been safe.
  20. QUOTE(Beltin @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) I do not mind the talking. I mean there are only so many things I can complain about before I become an intolerant curmudgeon. However, I do agree that the unnecessary standing (frequently occurs on those routine fly balls, too) and the constant trips to and from the seats are pretty annoying as well. At the end of the day, however, they are all helping to pay the salaries so I just try to block it out. The standing and talking kind of go hand in hand. I don't mean standing for a play on the field. I'm talking about standing up in the middle of the aisle just to talk to someone or any stupid reason. Some people stand at their seats throughout most of the game.
  21. QUOTE(Beltin @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) My favorite annoyance at games is the constant cheering of routine fly balls as if they are all on the way out of the park. Maybe I need to be tolerant of the casual fan, but pay attention to the trajectory of the ball gosh dangit! The thing I hate the most are the people (usually drunk) that never sit down, constantly talk loud, or walk up and down the aisle thirty times a game.
  22. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) I'll go with Uribe because I miss him right now. Not saying this correlates, but we've done pretty well since he's been out.
  23. When there's a knowledgable source saying that a certain player is having the great half-season defensively since 1887, you kind of have to go with that guy.

  25. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Cavemen eat roast duck with mango salsa. Astronauts eat Tang. Cavemen. No contest. Hello, is this President Clinton? Good! I figured if anyone knew where to get some Tang it would be you...SHUT UP!
