  1. This thread should be renamed Panda Watch 2013! The mood is tense
  2. Now that is a knuckler http://i.imgur.com/HyNfeQa.gif
  3. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 02:17 PM) I don't know what the protocol is on this board for posting links but this one bears on the subject at hand and one that I am interested in since I am a Cardinal and Peavy fan. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jon-heym...l-peavy-suitors As long as you provide links and aren't self promoting your own baseless rumor blog, you are all good
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) I have no idea, it's hard to say. His positive test was in the 2011 NLDS, which was right after his MVP season. He didn't just come out of nowhere though, he was a high first round draft pick out of Miami. Unless he has been juicing the whole time, including his college days, I would think he has enough talent to keep hitting at a decent level. Well, he was in Miami.....
  5. Reggie Rose should stfu. I wish he would get the Floyd Mayweather Sr treatment and sent packing
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 08:54 AM) Well it was not an international test, it was an MLB test. And while their rules were vague, you better be well versed in all potential outcomes as a course of your actions, because those technicialities are the name of the game. Sorry but I still don't see the collector as a victim in need of an apology. And what did people expect Braun to say? Millions of dollars are at stake, his livelihood is threatened (due to his own actions, yes), of course he is gonna pull out all the stops to get his name cleared. Most people would do the same. I agree he found a technicality and exposed it and we all probably would pull put all of the stops in order to protect a multi million dollar image, but now that he has been caught he owes the collector an apology IMO. He destroyed that mans image and still got caught afterwards. He will probably never deliver that apology, but it doesn't make it less deserved. The collector did what he was told and unfortunately the rules weren't made specific for him.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) Well, you just said a guy was a "hidden" genius behind the movie. That's why I asked. The writer rarely gets the credit. Goyer knows the medium. From what I know of Superman, it wasn't the story that hurt it, it was the Snyder effect at the end. Even so, I really want to see it still. A friend of mine is really hard to please with movies and he loved it
  9. I should leave the thread title the way it is
  10. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) I knew that it was a mistake to mention Sizemore. Look, that just happens to be my preference for what might be an affordable solution to finding one of the two decent bats, without a long term contract. He will surely want to sign for no more than all of 2014, and hope to prove himself, so that he can sign a better long term deal. That could suit the Sox You said all of this in the offseason, and through April and May, and the guy still hasn't signed or played with any team. You can't trust this guy. He is fragile. I'm not gonna suggest someone right now because I have no idea who is available

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) Was Snyder's Superman even any good? I somehow avoided that, because 1- Superman is lame, 2- bad reviews, 3- Superman is lame. That's coming from a dork who ate up Superman comic books. I haven't seen yet, but a few friends of mine loved it. Brian didn't like it, but his favorite movie is The Notebook so I discounted his opinion.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) I'm highly intrigued in who plays Batman. DC should just back up the truck for Bale, but Superman doesn't fit into the Nolan universe. Obviously, JGL would be a nice call, but I just don't think those worlds can collide. It is a huge choice. I honestly think Bale is a man of his word, the cape is hung up regardless of money. Whoever plays Batman will need that intensity. The one thing I am really happy about in all of this is that David Goyer is writing this. He is the hidden genius in Nolan's batman movies and Snyders Superman.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 04:04 PM) There is literally nothing about a Batman/Superman team-up that appeals to me. Basically Batman brings absolutely nothing to the table in such a situation unless you use the kryptonite crutch. The source comics for this are some of the best selling comics ever written. The Dark Knight Returns was an amazing comic. This movie will set up the tension between the two characters leading into The Justice League movie.
  14. @Schumouse: Garza yanked from start tonite...deal near We are close to seeing where the market will be set for Peavy

  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 10:29 AM) I guess I need to get started on this....feeling left out Get some of your bucket list stuff out of the way. Once the kids start coming, your time is gone for quite a while
  17. I should change the thread title to "MLB to suspend nobody, do nothing, get punked by the MLBPA" and change the subtitle to "Selig to claim drug testing is the best it has ever been"
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) I heard it was marijuana related I thought recreational drug suspensions were smaller

Dexter has been slow, but I am interested in where it is going. There are a lot of angles up in the air right now
  20. Congrats to all the new dads!
  21. We should sign Sizemore to a 10 year contract. It isn't often that true middle of the order hitters are laying around and every other MLB team won't touch them.
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 06:22 PM) Dude Boston made the playoffs the next year....and in 99 and in 2003. It was 7 years before they won a WS. We had to get a new GM before we won one of those. As your goal here is apparently to stick a thumb in my eye and say "na na na na na" I'll give you some ammo: you could point out the closer on Boston's 2004 WS team was none other than Keith Foulke. Otherwise, I don't know what your point is. I was wondering what your point was as well, bringing up 16 year old trades made 2 GMs ago as if it actually relevant to the current team. I get it, you don't like the front office, but your ability to connect the dots in multiple discussions absolutely sucks.
