QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Okay, this may be old news, but it's the first I've seen of it. Tom Cruise has been cast as Lee Child's Jack Reacher? If you've read any of the books you can clearly see that Reacher is 6'5" and over 250 lbs. Tom Cruise is nowhere near that. I read an article about the writer saying casting a guy close to Reacher's size would be difficult, and while that may be true, Tom Cruise is pretty much the last guy I picture when I read about Reacher. Maybe Joe Mangianello, but we both know they are going for the starpower with Cruise
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) That still leaves me unable to figure out how he kept silent for near a decade, including having Sandusky around PSU events. The godfather told him to shut his mouth, and so he did
  3. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) I mean, replacing one or two guys is not that difficult. But once you start talking about removing or adding major pieces...thats when the chemistry is gonna take a hit. Say what you want about Korver but he's had 2 years with this team, he knows how to come off those screens juuust right, with juuust that perfect timing. The next 3pt shooter we get might not know how to do it that well, at least not right away. Thats just one example Stop it, this chemistry you are talking about is nonsense. This exact same team you are complaining about tearing apart was put together on the fly within a few weeks after the Decision, and managed to work together just fine. And you far overvalue the players on the roster. Korver is a good 3 point shooter, and a huge defensive liability every time he steps on the floor, and he also choked bigtime when needed(re: 2011 playoffs). Just like Ronnie Brewer is a good defensive player, and a huge offensive liability when he is on the floor(despite what he did at the beginning of this season, that shot is not reliable and he doesnt need to be constantly taking midrange jumpers). You keep talking about needing to match Houstons offer on Asik, that makes me ill just thinking about not being able to add someone around Rose because of Asiks large backloaded deal. Yay for 50 percent free throw shooting. Talking about the need to keep this team together is exactly what GarPax is doing, and it drives me nuts. The team is flawed even with Rose at 100 percent. Does that mean they couldnt take out the Heat? We will never know, it will never happen with this team. By the time we get back Rose, hopefully management has begun to assemble a championship roster around him that wont sit back and wait for Rose to do his thing and will rather work with him while he does his thing.
  4. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 03:34 PM) I've got mixed thoughts on this. While looking out for the health of his players is a good move on a certain level, he also sent a message to his entire team that this particular game was not that impopstant. While in the grand scheme of things that may be true, it does set a bad precendent and put questions in the mind of his young ballplayers. You have to think all of these players can recognize the difference between this game and a game that really means something like an actual Major league ballgame though. I understand what you are saying, but I really dont think any of them understood that message as "It is ok to lose a game" as much as "holy crap we ran out of players and this game has no sign of ending"
  5. a whole bunch of "That is f***ed up" happened at Penn State over the past decade
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) After LBJ and Dwight I just want to give a big hug to Rose and Durant. How about management gives Rose a metaphorical hug and quits f***ing around and gets him some legit help
  7. Andy Griffith at 86 years old
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:47 AM) If Howard goes to Brooklyn, I really hope D-Will signs with Dallas. From all i have read, Dwill and Dwight are attached at the hip
  9. Starting to sound like Dwight is going to get what he wants.
  10. I didn't realize Glen Perkins could get it up to 97. Great night for the Sox, gain .5 on Tigers and Cleveland
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) Is that because of the cap...or is that because the authors are assuming that Brook Lopez + whatever other assets they'd have left wouldn't be enough to get Dwight? I'm not counting on the latter. Cap. I cant imagine Joe Johnson, Dwill, Dwight, plus Gerald Wallace's shiny new contract will be something any team can afford
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) Well clearly, but when he's demanding to be traded to the Netropolitans...usually those things have an annoying habit of happening. I'm not certain whether they can swing it to make the contracts work after this deal, but starting with Lopez they can send $5 million in salary to Orlando with him and a couple rookies and they're currently sitting on a fair amount of space even after signing Wallace. It is already going around that Dwight is really not possible should this trade go through. I just dont get it.
  13. Cillian Murphy now confirmed to be in the movie.
  14. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) They are 7.5 games out of first place, and below .500 How is this obvious? Its Ozzie. duh
  15. the Carlos Lee trade is officially kaboshed.
  16. The next two series are against the Rangers and Blue Jays at home. If the Sox can pull a rabbit out of their hat and end this homestand with a positive record, I will be elated.
  17. Get up the pen. Please
  18. Such a disappointing pitcher
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) I can't for the life of me figure out why AJ is calling so few curveballs. Gavin doesn't know where anything is going today, and Chavez hit one of those curveballs out of the park. Just have to hope he finds something that works, you can't count on the Yankees lineup not scoring on a day like this.
  20. Rios is killing Jeter this series
  21. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) How the hell does Ibanez get a SB When Gavin doesn't hold him or acknowledge him. That's how
  22. f***ing Gavin. Damnit
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) Keep in mind Eddie was looking a little bit older than his years. He had the Mickey Rourke facial surgery, put on a little weight, got ahold of Ronnie Woo Woo's dentist, and looks much better these days. I think the tongue cancer is what aged him the most.
  24. Come on Gavin, this one is bigtime
  25. Wetzel and Doyel both have good columns putting Penn st on blast
