  1. I read rumors that the Big 10 was prepared to ask SIU to join

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) They have sex, don't they. Gross. sounds like you watched the vivid video version, "Balls are Money"
  3. im not gonna lie, i think Detroit is a darkhorse here, their offense has really come alive and their pitching can carry them. If they get past this series and can pitch Verlander multiple times in a series, they could really start rolling
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:52 AM) I don't even know what that is I still use Firefox, though. I know Chrome is supposed to be better, but I'm used to it and it doesn't seem to be outdated. Waaaaaaaaaaay back in 96 when I was a freshman in college, SIU gave us this awesome CD which contained Netscape 3.0 and Eudora Lite. You could not check your email unless you had eudora installed on your computer. It was pretty much marginalized when hotmail/yahoo/gmail/outlook showed up
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) what's the soxtalk aol keyword? teh suck
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:15 AM) You guys should stop using the Netscape browser. It's outdated. pffft, next thing you know you will be telling me to stop using my Eudora email
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) What was the usage of Beckett/Lester et al. like earlier in the year? Were they pushed particularly hard to say, cover up for Lackey's weakness? It wasnt just Lackeys weakness in the beginning of the season. What was their start? 5-17? Besides Lackeys weakness, you have Bucholz and Daisuke going down. It was similar to the White Sox in 2010. They went on an amazing run to get past a brutal start, but in the end, they could not sustain it and it caught up with them. Just one month later in the season
  8. here is an honest one for you guys: my favorite part was Hawk and Wimpy reuniting in the booth and letting bygones be bygones. it was very nostalgic for me listening to those two again
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Hey Ozzie...it's FLORIDA Marlins!...not Miami Marlins! Good lord... it will be the miami marlins after the game is over today
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) Steve9347 Steve H. @cst_Cowley The Sox are going to miss a guy who openly admits he lost his passion for managing their team two years ago? cst_Cowley cst_Cowley I really do like Jerry Reinsdorf - whether he believes that or not - I just feel bad he has some serious liars in his midst. cst_Cowley cst_Cowley @Steve9347 Until the games started, was the quote. Get it right. If you heard what I did, you would understand why. Steve9347 Steve H. @cst_Cowley Feel free to direct message if you care to share... these vague references hurt credibility. #sorry He continues to report one side of the story. "If you heard what I heard...." Well yeah, Im sure Ozzie has told some whoppers, and none of it has to do with him
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) I actually think Angelo does a decent enough job with what he has to work with... But you're right. There's probably 3 cities that can support a Cowboys-style megapalace. New York could but they go the 2 team route instead. Dallas can. Chicago can. I couldnt disagree more. One of his jobs is the draft, and it has been absolutely embarrassing save a few gems for the past 10 years. Arent we going on like 3 straight seasons where a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick was released? Just awful. Plus, neglecting the line and wide recievers like he has is borderline criminal. He gets Jay and surrounds him with nothing. "Hey everyone, look at my shiny new car! I wont buy gas, and I am going to park it in the middle of the highway, so it might get beat up pretty bad and I cannot use it. But isnt my new car nice?"
  12. cst_Cowley cst_Cowley cst_Cowley I didn't know if Oz going to Miami was a good decision, but after the stuff I heard, plus how Miami is embracing him.... not even close. I love his vague references to stuff he has heard.
  13. If Ozzie gets Zambrano and Pujols on the Marlins next year, they could do some serious damage. That isnt a team of spare parts, there is a lot of really good young talent on that team. Not unlike 97 and 02, if they mix in the right veterans, the Marlins could be extremely dangerous. And the Ozzie fans would go wiiiiild
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) So I take it they're not even going to interview candidates? Who's running the show? The "interviews" could have taken place yesterday. The Marlins interviewed 3 guys before they hired Ozzie yesterday so they could be in compliance. They are sham interviews, but they happen
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:43 PM) Kurtjian was on the radio and said he talked to a Sox player who said the players talked more about Ozzie/KW than the game. If that is true, and I dont have much of a reason to doubt it, then that is horrible and should have been stopped a long time ago.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:19 PM) I just listened to 17 minute Oz interview on whitesox.com and he was gracious. The more I think about this I am just sick over the fact KW won this war. s***. I better log off a while before I explode. Kenny Williams beat Ozzie Guillen. My god that is like Victor Ortiz beating Mayweather. No no, please explode. I would like to read your thoughts and musings, and subscribe to your newsletter
  17. I think Jay would be a really good quarterback if given a line he trusts and a WR corps that wouldnt only start for one team, The Bears. I think the system is irrelevant. You can tell Jay knows where recievers are supposed to be, and throws it where they are supposed to be. They are just NEVER THERE. How many times do we watch a game where Jay spends 10 seconds leading up to the snap telling all of the WRs where they are supposed to stand before the snap? And we are supposed to expect them to know where to be after the snap and the play is developing? Cutler has been put in the worst position by his own front office, and it really sucks watching the guy take a pounding from opposing teams and then the media afterwards. Can he be erratic? Of course he can. But it is hard to get a good read on the guy when he is constantly running for his life and other teams are pinning their ears back and coming for him because the Bears cannot run the ball
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) It's obvious it's Alomar. Steve Stone says so on the score website. I would agree. So the question is, will Sandy be good? My answer: Yes. If the players perform. It's a players game. LOL Alomar may very well be the next manager of the Sox, but you will believe anything if a manager/player/ex player says it, wont you?
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) Why? Have you heard anything about Walker being gone? If KW wanted to can him a month ago and JR prevented it, I think at this point he will be allowed to say sayonara. And really, why would you want to saddle a new manager with that baggage. At least with Cooper you can point to varying degrees of success. With Walker, very few success stories, bad overall offenses for a long period of time, and his contract is up. If he comes back I will be surprised.
  20. All I know, is there is going to be a lot of sigs and avatars that will be changing. *cough*sqwert*cough*

http://screenrant.com/prometheus-movie-plo...s-sandy-133544/ Sounds like the leaked synopsis of Prometheus that I posted a few months ago is true. This excites me very much
  23. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) Yes, the ref's were totally cheating. It had nothing to do with Cutler throwing multiple pics or The Bears forgeting to cover Finley the whole game. I dont think anyone has said the refs cost the Bears the game. The question has been did the refs affect the score and affect bets, and it isnt just this thread that I am reading it The Packers were the better team yesterday no doubt. The Bears couldnt get out of their own way, and even when they did, they usually did something stupid to give the ball back.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Boers and Bernstein are going to go off on Martz this week. i really dont think they will as bad as you think. martz had to abandon the run, it just wasnt there. ripping martz for the pass/run diff is kind of stupid
  25. the optimist in me says 1-2 isnt a death sentence, and it can be overcome. but this has to be the bottom, they have to take the next step. The pessimist in me sees this as what the bears are.
