i think both sides of this debate need to step back and realize that their opinions arent going to match. Its a movie, there will always be critics and there will always be fans. Rotten Tomatoes isnt the end all be all. if you want to use it as your gauge, that is your prerogative.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) Wow is right. I wonder if he saw the negative blowback that the Big Three got and didn't want to be "that guy". he wants the max under the current CBA

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 30, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) God Dammit. For the first minute and then some I thought this was his Haunted Mansion movie. I really hope that didn't become this. No, completely different projects. Haunted Mansion was only announced last July, "Dont be afraid of the Dark" has been completed for a little while now(it was actually screened last august), but didnt have a distributor due to its R rating.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) Tell me which one of those involves the school and was covered up by the school. Im pretty sure the school has a responsibility to oversee the athletes under scholarship. Seeing how SI knew about all these things happening, I have a hard time believing that the school didnt know it was happening. But go ahead and keep saying the school didnt know. I know you will
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 30, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) The cheating isn't Ohio State's big problem here. All of the elite programs, and many of the not elite programs, do it. Their problem is they didn't cover their tracks well, and then had lying/cover up issues once the poor track covering arrived in Jim Tressel's inbox. Which is exactly what I said, the coverup led to the findings of more coverups. And it has gone from "All Tressel had to do was take a trip to the compliance office in April" to "s***, Antonio Pittman said this has been going on for more than a decade....and we all called Maurice Clarett crazy yet here we have Pryor saying the exact same thing about loaner cars....and Ray Small....and McGlover.....and on and on and on"
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) What were the other coverups? Nothing else has come out yet.... QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2011 -> 08:41 AM) Incorrect, he resigned before more bad info came out this week, and it's coming. Its like you know that something bad happened, and has been happening for a while(Maurice Clarett, cough cough), but you are such a homer that you cant admit it even when you plainly state that the s*** is about to hit the fan. Just read through some of this http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/tag/ohio_state_buckeyes This stuff has been happening for a while
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2011 -> 09:02 AM) So you blame Nardi Contreras for the slew of pitching injuries from 2000-2001? Wright Barcelo Stumm Rauch Biddle Wunsch Howry Jim Parque James Baldwin Mike Sirotka Many people blame Contreras. Those guys all basically had the exact same injury, torn rotator cuff. Nardi didnt seem to worry too much about mechanics
  8. i dont know if I agree that the coverup was worse than the crime anymore. The coverup resulted in the findings of a lot of coverups, and what would be a lot of trips to the compliance office
  9. QUOTE (Felix @ May 29, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) Are you thinking of the right Ray Allen? He was pretty goddamn good for Seattle before heading to Boston: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/allenra02.html i am, he was good there but he wasnt committed on the defensive end until he got to boston. imo he became a much more complete player in boston, and it has made him look like a much better player in boston. he always could shoot, he had a few injury problems in seattle though
  10. i think if you put Rip on a contending team you would a Rip that is much closer to 2004 than to 2011. He hated his coach and had a really bad team around him. I think you could see a rebirth similar to Ray Allen to the Celtics if he is on the Bulls. That being said, I would look at it as a secondary option, and look younger.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 28, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) When I saw the title of that movie while it was being made, thought it was a big screen adaptation of that Nickelodeon show. actually it is a remake of a 70s horror film

I love Guillermo Del Toro's films
  16. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:49 AM) If i was mega rich like that i would walk around in pajamas everywhere i go, to all the fanciest clubs and restaurants and all that, and id be throwing tacos from a taco bell 12-pack everywhere making it rain. everyone should bring a taco bell 12 pack to a party. Its the cool thing to do
  17. Did anyone see the memorial video that WWE made for Savage? Was it any good?
  18. I got "Lost in Shadow" and "De Blob 2" for my birthday, very much looking forward to both games. I played Lost in Shadow for a little while before my softball game last night, I really like it, altering shadows to get through the game is pretty cool. I beat the original De Blob, so i am ready to the sequel, love the music in that game
  19. QUOTE (GREEDY @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) Sorry, I thought Pale Hose Talk was open for "Also get the latest news, speculation, and all of the info you can use on the Chicago White Sox". Next time I will take my actual baseball talk elsewhere, and keep my "The Ghost of....", "f*** this mother....", "WCIU games are now available in space", and "Groundskeeper talk" posts for this site. Im sorry, I missed in your original post where you made any speculation, talked about latest news, or brought in any info on the Chicago White Sox. oh wait, you didnt. Please unbunch your panties and continue your Ludwick discussion here.
  20. QUOTE (GREEDY @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Why? So no one can see a post discussing acquiring a player that would fit this team nicely? when tradewinds opens up, you can wax poetic about players that the Sox will not acquire in there. This is just idle speculation by you about a player that has no rumor or possible trade connection to the Sox. This is where it belongs
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) The Heat haven't "been together for like 5 minutes" too? that was a reply to J4L, read what he wrote
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) You can't obviously just hand the Heat the next 5 titles. I think what Balta means, and I've said this many times, that no team is set up better to, well, flat dominate for the next 5 years than the Heat are. They're a win away from the finals and they've been together for like 5 minutes. Everybody talked about how bad their supporting cast was. And again, a win away from the finals. I don't mean to sound repetitive (and I admit I have a nasty habit with that), but superstars win out in the NBA. The Bulls had Jordan. He took a break and the Rockets had Hakeem. Shaq, Kobe and Duncan have collected like every ring since 2000. Now it's the Heat. This entire prediction/estimation talk is based strictly in a vacuum assuming NOTHING changes for the foreseeable future, including a major injury to any on of the Big 3 in Miami and including any free agent moves or trades. It is bulls***. Just the same as the talk early this season that the Heat were going to not only tie, but SHATTER the bulls 72-10 mark. And lets not forget here, the Bulls also have "been together for like 5 minutes" and their record went +20 in the win column. And the Heat havent even won the title this season
  23. Ludwick is going to the Diamond Club
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Any rule that allows the Bulls to get better next season is going to allow the Heat to get better as well unless the Bulls nail a late first round draft pick. If the Bulls are allowed to go over the cap via a mid-level or veterans exemption, the Heat will be also, and the Heat will be a preferred destination rather than an already deep Bulls team (maybe with the possible exception of the shooting guard spot). If the Heat are forced to divest themselves of assets, the Bulls will be forced to do so harder, having 3 >$10 million guys already and Rose still to sign. If the new CBA forces them to move Bosh, the Bulls will be forced to move 2 of the $10 million guys. The Heat have proven to be a much better team already than what we saw during the regular season. The Bulls have not. Yes, you can tell me how Boozer and Noah will get better playing together or Rose will develop for another year, but at this point, Boozer and Noah are bigger injury concerns than Wade even is. Every rule out there will let hte Heat get better and deeper next year. If you rewrite the rules to prevent that, the rewriting has to hurt the Bulls more than the Heat. Unless someone like the Lakers lands Howard or Paul, this is the Heat's league and they've now proven that. well apparently the 2011-2012 season is over, since Balta says so. I mean, what happens if the Bulls lose in one of the next 3 games, and then the Heat get their asses blitzed by Dallas? Will all of this "The heat can do nothing wrong and will sign whomever they want" talk still persist? Will you still think that the Bulls, who really only had one year under this system and this coach, will not be able to get better? It isnt doomsday balta. There will be basketball next season despite your constant proclamations that there might not be. The heat might win the championship, they might not, but that doesnt mean everyone should roll over and and accept that they cannot be beaten, players and fans alike.
