Are the White Sox relevant? Is 2007-itis setting in?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Fair enough. I forgot about that stretch. Although I will respectfully disagree with you about the offense, because Quentin was the best hitter in baseball for five months. Alexei hit how many Grand Slams and carried the team on his back for 2-3 months in the middle of the season. Then you add in Thome, Dye, Konerko....I don't have the numbers in front of me for respective RPG, but I would be shocked if we match that offense unless Andruw Jones and Quentin both hit 30-40 homers. This bullpen is more talented, but that one was more effective to go along with the awesome starting pitching that carried the team through the offensive struggles in the first half. On this date in 2008, Carlos Quentin was hitting .241 with 4 homeruns, 10 RBI, 10BB It wasnt like he was carrying the team at that point. And Alexei wasnt mister grand slam until the weather warmed up and he was put in the lineup permanently -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) It's mid April and this board is pretty much a ghost town. There's hardly any conversation going on in the Pale Hose Forum and he happens to be a very good writer that I enjoy reading. Should we only allow people to post who are complete cheerleaders? If so, the board will go days without any activity. I clarified my point, I never told him to stop posting, just to keep the same thought in one thread, not start multiple threads with the same idea. Thats all. -
One of the streak for the cash picks today was about Tebow Where do you think Tebow will be drafted 29th pick or earlier 30th pick or later I took 30th pick or later

So we needed two seperate threads for you to compare to the 2007 team? Let me be crystal clear, Im not asking you to stop posting, nor will I ask you to stop posting. But you reiterate the same thing multiple times in different threads a lot. All I am asking right now, is to contain it to one thread. And the way I responded first didnt really come off the way I intended, and for that I apologize. You make a lot of conversation on this site that is valued, and I dont want you to stop that. -

caulfield could you please stop with your daily doom and gloom threads? We all know the team is struggling, everyone is pissed. We dont need you showing every single connection to every single sox team that struggled in the past 50 years, every day. -
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) It could make sense for both sides. Oakland gives up the #8 pick and Nnamdi Asomugha for Ben. and they could pay two of the largest quarterbacks in the league two of the largest contracts in the league

ESPN "sources" are reporting 4-6 games for Big Ben. I am sure the NFLPA will get that reduced

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) We were both in a wedding of mutual friends in Carbondale. They are now divorced, and we will be together 7 years in September, but are not married. Was the wedding at Touch of Nature? Thats where every one of my friends got married. I think I went to at least 4 weddings there in my time in Cdale

We worked together at Quatros pizza in Carbondale. The funny thing is, we werent even interested in each other until after she left

It kind of makes sense for JR. His health problems are just too much for the travel that WWE requires. The guy has had his bells palsy problems like 5 times in the past 15 years

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) I think this goes for the entire league. Maybe it's because tickets have become so expensive that the more hardcore fans cant afford to get low level playoff tickets. I remember going to Magic games back in the Shaq and Penny days and the atmosphere would be insane for games in December. I have friends who go to Florida Gator football games (trust me, its loud at those games) and they say the loudest noise they've ever experienced was when Nick Anderson stole the ball from Jordan back in the 1995 playoffs. Just seems like these days fans at basketball games dont know how to get loud. I blame the thundersticks. Today you can blame kraft macaroni and cheese, lol Maybe it is the constant music/sound effects in the background, maybe it is the better production quality of the networks being able to lower the volume of the crowd in favor of the sounds on the court and announcers, but I really thought the only time the Cavs fans could be heard was for a minute or so after Lebron posterized JJ and when Moon hit the three at the end. Really disappointing

Am I the only one that thinks that the Cleveland crowd has been rather lame? You have arguably the greatest player in the NBA at this time, why dont you act like it? There were times during the Michael Jordan/Ewing/Bird/Magic years that you could barely hear the announcers during the game because the Chicago/New York/Boston/LA crowds were so loud.

Siamese Dream is a great album to put on when I am in the car driving by myself, I love to crank up Cherub Rock. RATM causes me to drive fast, sometimes I dont play it for that reason, lol. Great music to play as I am pulling into Melas field before I play softball though

If Bulls win in 7, Steve is going to have to become Mr Bandwagon and make some awesome sigs

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) Cavs in 6. Bulls play them really close however. The key to the series IMO is Deng. Rose is gonna get his. Noah is gonna do his thing. But if Deng can limit LeBron to 30 points, I think we make it a terrific series. You just can't let LeBron go off for 45 points or something crazy. See, I think this kind of thinking is wrong in this situation. Just like you said about Rose, LeBron is going to get his. You have to make sure Mo and Delonte and Varejao and Shaq and Big Z dont go off. Thats where things go wrong, when guys like Delonte West are scoring 20+ points.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) The Astros are the exact same team as the Indians from Major League I and II. Some guys play different positions, but seriously. Michael Bourn is Willie Mays Hays. Carlos Lee is Pedro Cerrano. Hunter Pence or Geoff Blum can be Rube Baker Kaz Matsui is obviously Isuro Tanaka Matt Lindstrom or Felipe Paulino can be Rick Vaughn Ed Wade is Charlie Donovan Drayton McLane is Rachel Phelps Brian Moehler is Eddie Harris and on and on except this is real life and not a movie and the Astros are terrible wade is kind of a combination of both. He put this team together, he wasnt forced to field it in order to lose. and yes, Feliz is a dumbass, he cost the Astros that entire inning
