  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 10:09 AM) I'm a grass man all the way. The condition of it might suck, so pay someone who knows what they're doing to maintain it. I hate the field turf in every stadium i've been to. I like the authentic feel of using actual ground versus the fake stuff. yeah authentic mud and painted dirt are great
  2. Where is the bookend thread "Our Destiny Controls Us"
  3. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 01:16 AM) ...case in point to my previous post... out of the last 20 or so games left in the season, the Sox play Detroit 6 times. That's boring, despite the face that there's a division championship at stake. It wouldnt be boring if the Sox werent stinking the place up
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 03:31 PM) MNF Game 1 Regular broadcasters: Good MNF Game 2 Mike & Mike: f***ing awful ...and when Jaws disagreed with Gruden on what the other coach was going to do, Jaws was right 90% of the time. It wasnt so much that he was right or wrong, it was how he was saying it. Gruden doesnt have near the experience in the booth Jaws has, cut the guy a little slack on his first primetime event
  5. QUOTE (3E8 @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 08:29 PM) After first listen I'm quite disappointed. One of the few times the free stream online swayed me not to purchase the album. The bookends of this record, Vices and Noro, are really enjoyable. Too bad everything in the middle is forgettable Oooh boy I am excited for this album, downloading it now
  6. I dunno, one would think the Sox would want him to play in the DR so he can continue to get better playing shortstop
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) What I don't get is why everybody thinks magically next season's lineup will be fine and score plenty of runs. Are people just assuming we're going to be a .600 team all of a sudden? Or are they assuming there will be changes? I think the problem here is that you are assuming there will be no changes
  8. my god greg are you complaining about next years schedule being impossible already? lol
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) I'd rather see Jake than Torres. I bet you if we were mathematically eliminated, we wouldn't see Peavy this year. It's probably a way to say we haven't given up and it might add some fans in the stands, too. I just hope he doesn't get hurt in a meaningless outing or two. The Sox arent going to put him out there if they think he is still hurt. It has nothing to do with them being mathematically eliminated, they are just letting the guy pitch
  10. If a school with the nickname Red Hawks changed their mascot to a actual red Hawk, would it still be considered offensive to this group? And I could care less about the Fighting Irish. I am irish and I think the mascot/logo is fine
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) I have to wait until the end of the day for your funny picture. All I see is a red X thanks to my work server
  12. I have to say I was mildly impressed with Chucky in the booth. He was relaxed and didnt play up the growling persona that everyone places on him. Jaws was pissing me off because he kept telling Chucky he was wrong very blatantly.
  13. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 11:05 PM) Major blow to Minny. MAJOR BLOW TO MY FANTASY TEAM! THIS f***ING SUCKS!
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) Because the season is almost over. Those other guys have been playing every day. This guy has been out most of the year. It just seems stupid to me to trot him out there 5 innings in one or two starts if we can't win the division. If you tell me we still are in the race, fine, I guess. I for one am not counting on what would be probably the greatest comeback of all time. We're running out of games and I just see no reason to pitch him. I guess I'm in the vast minority. I'd rather have him come back in the spring and earn the opening day start, etc., in what most feel could be a much better year for our team. The fifth starter has been out there every day? You wouldnt rather see Peavy pitch than Torres?
  15. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 02:08 PM) Don't forget about his rambo impression when entering to his pyro. The PPV was decent. Surprisingly, Cena/Orton was match of the night. Just a shame at how it ended. Huh, I thought that was his goldberg impression
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) All you Bears fans should just join me and follow the Silver and Black of the Raiders. *awaits crickets* what do you need crickets for? you have Richard Seymour. I think
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 12:29 PM) By the way, I just want to say well done Lovie. That was a great job in your return as defensive coordinator against a very good Packer offense!!! yeah that preseason Nintendo offense didnt quite translate to the reg season like everyone thought it would
  18. Im not pissed or outraged or demanding an apology, but I felt really bad for Taylor Swift. He took away a moment from her that she will never have again, and basically told everyone she shouldnt have won. Whether you like her as an artist or not, thats totally bush league. And I can only imagine what Kanye would actually do if someone came up on stage during his moment and pulled that same s***. He can claim all he wants that he gave Outkast his VMA award because he didnt feel like he deserved it, Outkast didnt have a friend jump up on stage with Kanye and tell him he didnt deserve to win it and that Outkast did.
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) Thank god. He wouldn't be missed. You will miss the thumbs up thumbs down move. The most terrifying move in all of sports entertainment
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 08:55 AM) I'd like to see em push Swagger into a feud with Cena for a couple of months but it will never happen. My guess is, Batista gets involved somehow now that he's due back. Yippee. Rumors going around that he is strongly considering retiring because he keeps having so many injuries
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 01:26 AM) Do you guys see any rational reason Peavy pitches again this season? We're seven back in the loss column again. What would it prove? He's our No. 1 next season. Great. Let him rest up. What good does it do for anybody to have him pitch? I don't get it. He'll probably sell more tickets with the mystery of Peavy still out there. I really really hope he doesn't get hurt during his start or two. If he is healthy and recovered from his injuries, what is the point of shutting him down?
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) I hope to come home from work tomorrow to see an awesome SHIPPS story. It may or may not have to do with ice cream sandwiches
  23. I told Shipps this would happen. You can only hop over the fence so many times....
  24. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) I've heard that because of the soccer games played at Soldier Field they can't play on field turf. The soccer games have to be on grass. well they built toyota park specifically for soccer, so use that
  25. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 02:45 PM) Or you can question the veteran leadership on the White Sox as to why he didn't work. Other teams with less payroll had poor chemistry and did a lot of winning. like who?
