QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 01:31 PM) You got Morneau at 1B, and any position has more longevity than C. I think that the financial implications of this matter on the Twins will far outweigh the health matter for Mauer, but thats JMO. Basically what I am saying is that they are going to choose one or the other in the next 2 years, and try and reload with prospects A la Santana.

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 01:14 PM) Yeah I'm pretty sure he's here for good. Especially if Quentin is done. If the Mendoza line is .200, then what is .100? Wise is just spiraling down, I dont know how Ozzie can continue to justify playing him at this point, that batting average/OPS/OBPS is just embarrassing for a major leaguer. And there are no signs of him turning it around -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) Ya they were balls. Both were the same spot and called strikes. I was like, well, I guess were facing Maddux or Glavine in there prime with this type of zone. the old days back when the Atlanta grounds crew would make the batters boxes wider. Well, until old Skip Carey called it out and got in trouble -
i dont see how moving to 3B or a corner OF spot will keep him more healthy than 1B, but whatever

I dont know what really happened because im watching gameday, but it showed the first two called strikes on Getz were at least 6 inches outside, it looked like he really got hosed QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 12:13 PM) So is Dye out again due to his knagging injury? Alright Getzy. He has had a nagging case of suck for the last couple of weeks -

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 11:25 AM) I'm not sure if Mauer is willing to move positions, but if he's not there could be a team that gives him 15-20 million per year and gurentees he plays catcher. I think he'll be a Twin but I'm guessing he'll see what the Red Sox, Yankees, or other teams will give him. And thats the thing with Mauer at this point: does he want to move to a different position to preserve his knees? And that position is almost gauranteed to be first base, where the Twins have Morneau for the foreseeable future, so are the Twins going to tie up most of the payroll in Mauer and Morneau so that they can switch back and forth from DH to 1B? The Twins have some tough financial decisions coming up here, and now it involves the hometown hero(who could be an MVP) and a perennial MVP candidate.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) Let's go MB! How about a CG so that the RPs can stay in the BP! Lets go White Sox, lets take another road series and keep on moving along -
I dont know if this is on purpose or not, but I have been looking at the webpage design differences between SI.com and ESPN.com and they have both set up their pages to list from left to right NFL before MLB. In the past, they would rotate the "hot" or in season sport to the left(or top, depending on how the topics scroll), and especially now with the MLB being the only major sport in-season, I found it strange that both SI and ESPN have the NFL listed first with MLB in full swing right now. I dunno, maybe I am just looking in to it too much, but it is odd to me.

Who says Mauer does not want to explore his options elsewhere? Maybe Mauer will want to see more of a committment from the organization before he signs on the dotted line. Outside of Morneau and Mauer the last few years it has been a revolving door of players in and out of the Metrodome, Im sure Mauer would like to see some of the players stick around and make a run at a title.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 21, 2009 -> 12:14 AM) Just got a call that my grandpa had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital for heart trouble...not a good start to Fathers Day. Sorry to hear that, Heads, I hope everything is ok

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) Flies only live somewhere between 24 to 72 hours when they mature anyway... so yeah... that fly would be dead by now. As PETA would have you know, that fly would much rather zoom into a spiders web and have its guts sucked out while it was still alive. That would be a much more "humane" way of dealing with things. I swear, PETA would rather people live in plastic bubbles and not touch the entire world.

Stone announced Hawk was attending family business and would be back tomorrow. LMAO Stone with a zinger towards Dusty He set it up by explaining that Ozzie was his batboy in a Venezuelan league, and Dusty gave Ozzie his first glove. Stone then says "I suggest Ozzie give Dusty a replica world series trophy, because Dusty doesnt have one"

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 03:23 PM) Bischoff is right about HHH. I don't think you can really rip last weeks Raw though. It was one of the best in years, despite the Trump thing. Gotta give it a few weeks to see where it goes. Tallest midget award? Bischoff is right on the money in regards to the WWE product and storylines being stale and repetitive. Monday was fun when we didnt know Trump was the man, but I was not happy when I saw it was trump. I am still holding out hope that Vince turns this into something pretty big, some sort of a power struggle to regain RAW after Trump pulls in some people Vince despises. I just hope it doesnt become a scrapped storyline that never materializes because Trump falls out of the picture
-
before big Victor crushed that ball, Harden had only thrown 1 strike
-
Wouldnt it be great if Trump could bring in Bischoff as his own GM? That would create a lot of fun heat
-
Harden looks like horse poo out there

If it was 90-91 it couldnt have been goosebumps, those books started in 1992. I was thinking scary stories to tell in the dark as well, those books were aimed at kids but were definitely descriptively scary
